Man Lescotts 10 pts on the bench hurts! Especially with Terry sitting at 1.

I think I have my move for next week..now to just await pressers and the Wednesday result..

Rambo + Giroud > Mata + Lukaku for free to give me:

    ...............Schmeichel
    .......Terry - Smalling - Morgan
    Albrighton - Mata - Silva - Sanchez
    ......Lukaku - Benteke - Aguero

    Panti; Hendo, Skrtel, PvA

hey guys anyone thinks rvp will start this weekend or would lvg go with wilson.. originally wanted to do kane to benteke or vardy to benteke but the guy im behind by like 10 points i feel is going to make that move .. also wanted to do ozil to silva but he has silva as well so need that differential. any recommendations or thoughts?

well currently im wondering if to bring in mata and lukaku as differentials, but if i know rvp starts that will be tempting.. to be honest im not so confident in mata and lukaku just dont know what to think..

well im beginning to consider lukaku now, but then that means i sell either kane or vardy? and to get mata in i need to sell sanchez, unless i sell ozil and get young in instead orrrrr completely forget manu cover and buy a leicester mid.. thoughts?

BTW this may sound funny but even considered leroy fer..

I quite like Fer in general. But he is hardly likely to get much of a score this week. The Leicester defence has been pretty good recently. At a different club next year Fer could be a good buy. I am wondering about reducing my Arsenal exposure for next week West Brom seem to be solid in defence too.

It is the only thing which is making me consider keeping Sterling for one more week. Giroud to Lukaku just seems so tempting. Then I only have Sanchez amongst Arsenal attackers

I'm seriously considering a gw38 hit to get rid of both if Arsenal beat Sunderland on Wednesday.

If you can afford to bench Sterling then Giroud to Lukaku would be great but I already have Gomez on the bench and am worried about not getting a full team out.

It's going to be an exciting window, I reckon. Liverpool and United are expected to be busy. LvG is given another £150m to spend, so Old Trafford is where most of the excitement will be.

Muller falling out with Pep may reunite him with his dear LvG, who gave him his first senior contract from the Bayern youth squad.

"It's no secret that Louis van Gaal and I have a relationship that goes a little beyond the normal relationship between coaches and players." - Muller

He could take up the RW, leaving Rooney as ST, and simultaneously act as cover for the striker spot. He is expected to be available between 30-40m.

    .
Khedira's contract expires in the summer. Obviously lots of teams interested, United rumoured to be amongst them.

    .
Clyne wants UCL football, and is not signing a new contract. His current one expires in a year so may go for £25m. Hernandez could sweeten a deal there.

    .
This could be United's realistic 1st team, with a very strong bench:

It feels like wishful thinking tbh but it would be great. It's a struggle to get top players to come to Manchester rather than London and I would be very surprised to see Khedira at OT rather than Arsenal. Didn't realise he's out of contract this summer.

City will spend as much as United and Jose always makes a few big signings despite pleading poverty too 🙁

Man U will need to spend big right enough.

Maybe Liverpool will be a bit more careful with their spending this year after they proved they weren't very good at it last summer.

Not the best of GW especially with making the ultra dumb decision of selling Phillips -> Larsson...

Is there any shot of me beating Faux_C in the semis?

Both tied on points with Giroud, Sanchez and Pva similiar

He has Carzola and Panti while I've got Ospina and Larsson...

Yeah I really hope so. Would love something from Giroud and Alexis though. Panti's saves are the key swinging point for the entire tie as he might just have more on his plate as compared to the Leicester game.

Oh well it has always been a blast to have made it so far in the cup!

Anyone else with Skrtel and Ivanovic on the pitch and 12pts on the bench? I knew Schlupp had the chance of a cs but even as a Baggie I couldn't play Dawson...

Skrtel and Terry on the bench. Ivan 1st sub.

Duff stuck on the bench for 2 weeks running 😎

Would anyone care to recommend me a good book to while away the footballless summer. I like fiction and preferably something a little different.

I have read a bit of Bernard Cornwell in the past so I am not adverse to historical fiction. I have read quite a bit of more sci fi recently but I don't really pigeon-hole myself. I just look at a story and if it grabs me I will read it.

A few suggestions from that genre. I won't bother saying anything trite like "it's really really good", suffice to say I mention these because I've read them and liked them. 🙂

CJ Sansom has a series of crime thrillers set in Tudor times, the Mathew Shardlake series. He's also done a one-off called Dominion which is a 'had Hitler won the war' novel.

Similarly, Robert Harris' Fatherland is a N@zi victory reimagining. He has also done a few set in Roman times, like Pompeii and a trilogy about Cicero, an orator in the time of Caesar (final part coming this year).

Set around WWI is Robert Harris' An Officer and a Spy and Robert Ryan's Dead Man's Land, where he puts Dr Watson (of Holmes fame) in a medical hospital.

I'm currently reading Ken Follett's Fall Of Giants which starts in the Welsh coal mines in 1911 and expands out into Europe and the US as war begins.

Thankyou for so many options. Just having a look through them on Amazon. Think I will purchase a few from different genres off of Amazon to mix things up a bit.

I'm quite into my history so that's why I'm a fan of them. Hope you try one and like it.

Do you have any scifi to recommend? I find that quite hit and miss - perhaps because it's a blank page for your imagination whereas with the history stuff the background is already there. I've given up on some scifi as I've just not had a clue what was going on. Last one I read that I quite like was Body Of Glass by Mary Piercy (think it's also called He She and It).

I was looking at Fatherland as I quite like the concept. I read all sorts but a sci fi author who I really like is Scott Sigler. His best ones all set in the real world, it can be quite violent though. But that does mean that it has a good fast pace unlike a lot of books which spend ages explaining boring made up concepts.

Really straightforward to get to grips with the science part and everything is based upon things which could really happen. So not a lot of made up nonsense. I love the book Infected myself. Works really well as a standalone book but was made into a trilogy later on.

Finished this one not a long time a go. I guess it is technically fantasy but mostly just plain odd. I liked it. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kafka-Shore-Vintage-Haruki-Murakami/dp/0099458322/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1432009729&sr=1-1&keywords=kafka+on+the+shore

About to drop out of the Top 10 K with my crap 29 pts. This week is not a great one. 3 Chelsea seemed so good with the surprise announcement that the big hitters all wanted to start. And yet I still have faith in them next week. Am I an idiot?

That's why I feel my priority has to be replacing an injured Gomez, as opposed to vanity transfers. No idea who may be rested or arsed to play. 3 Arsenal, 3 Chelsea, Kane...

At least 3 Arsenal and Pants to go. Another roll of the dice...

    which last transfer?

    A) Kolarov
    B) Milner (bench Kane)
    C) Gomis in for Kane

In H2H league and Cup knock out.

    I know it goes

    Goals For
    Goals Against
    Then coin toss

    1. Is it only players on the pitch ?
    2. If for example both the teams goalies didn't play does that count as 0 conceded ?

Same, though it would have taken a Hazard hatrick, Chelsea to concede, Arsenal to concede vs Sunderland and only Sanchez, Giroud and Ozil to get points!
