In the wake of the penultimate Gameweek, we take another look at how the Fantasy Football Scout leagues are shaping up. With leagues in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Ultimate Fantasy Premier League, Sky Sports and the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) Champions League game, there’s plenty to catch up on.

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE

With one round of fixtures left to play out, Simon March, aka “Dufflinks”, boasts a 34-point lead at the top of the Scout League and the overall rankings. His 70-point haul this Gameweek can be attributed to some astute decisions in defence, with Wes Morgan, Patrick van Aanholt and Simon Mignolet accruing 29 points between them. Alexis Sanchez failed to deliver as captain, but David Silva (nine points) and Sergio Aguero (five points) kept Simon’s tally ticking over.

Second-placed Kev Gleave clawed back four points on Simon this Gameweek while surging up to second place in the global rankings. Kev also captained Sanchez and fielded the Manchester City duo but opted for double Sunderland defensive coverage, with Van Aanholt and Costel Pantilimon serving up strong returns.

Jon Summer stormed into third place with an 85-point tally. Ranked fourth overall, Jon made the brave – but ultimately lucrative – call to captain Laurent Koscielny while also plumping for the above-mentioned Black Cats duo and Leicester City’s Jeffrey Schlupp in defence.

Mariusz Fyrstenberg dropped to fourth after notching a respectable 61 points. He also handed the captain’s armband to Sanchez and went with the Sky Blues duo, but a trio of Liverpool recruits (Martin Skrtel, Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson) failed to deliver the goods. Stuart Shingler slipped one place into fifth by way of a 61-point Gameweek. Stuart was given little to cheer about besides the output of Van Aanholt and Pantilimon.

In the Fantasy Football Scout Members League, Simon March  ended the week with a 65-point lead over second-placed Stuart Shingler. Killian Long  now occupies the third berth following a disappointing 58-point haul. The Members League retained second position in the FPL’s “Best League” rankings, behind the Scout League.

ULTIMATE FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE

Casting an eye over the UFPL Scout League, Damian Lindall (2813) remains in first place, but Obay Eid (2797) closed the gap by 22 points after fielding differentials like Graziano Pelle. Scout contributor Alex Bowers – who won the beta version of the game last term – entered the top three courtesy of a 98-point Gameweek. To join our UFPL league, use the code 524-87.

SKY SPORTS FANTASY FOOTBALL

Geoff Pryor (2427 points) increased his lead at the peak of the Scout League to 13 points over second-placed Steven Adams (2414 points). Katie Burgin (2391) maintains her grip on the bronze medal position. The winner of our Sky league – which retained top spot in the League of Leagues – wins £1,000.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Our official Champions League game this season is the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) offering – a free, reliable and easy-to-use Fantasy football app. Adriel Cheung (852 points) extended his lead at the summit to 26 points, with Gavin Rolston (826 points) reclaiming the second-place berth. Juan Garcia (825 points) slipped to third. There’s an iPad mini on offer to the winner – the league name is Fantasy Football Scout and the pin is 11155.

Woohoo! despite my now usual desperately poor FPL season.
I have won my Sportal H2H ML and am in my FPL £ ML H2H final.

    Depression over.

So if you're second overall and 34 behind, do you try to captain an outrageous differential and hope for a hattrick?

With Hazard doubtful, Arsenal assets possibly rested, together with other probably final GW-rotation.

Those of you selling your starters such as Kane, Coutinho, Skrtel etc, do you have a injury free bench? If not, you could be in for a suprise this GW.

28 points behind in ML, any hope ?

    My front 7:
    Silva Alexis Caz Coutinho Albrighton
    Kun Kane Gru
    2FT

    His:
    Alexis Ozil Larson Albrighton Hazard
    Kun Kane Gru
Think he will get Silva and (c) Kun

    Best move here?

A Kane, Gru to Ulloa, Lukaku (c)
    B Gru, Caz/Cout Mata, Lukaku (c)
    C Kane, Caz/Cout to Bolasie, Lukaku (c)
    D Kane, Caz/Cout to Mats, Ulloa (c)
E Gru, Caz, Cout to Yaya, Bolasie, Lukaku (c) for a hit

Good luck but I would give you less than 5% chance. Personally don't think Lukaku will do much but that's the sort of pick you'll need to come good if you've got a hope of winning this GW by >28 pts

  10. Siggy Sig Ah
    • 11 Years
    10 years, 10 months ago

Would Haz and G. Murray to Yaya and Ulloa be a reasonable punt to try and claw back 11 points to 1st place in ML?

    Team is
    Myhill
    Toby - Terry - Koscielny - Jagielka
    Sanchez - Hazard - Henderson - Ramsey
    Benteke - Aguero

    Subs - Foster - Baird - Philips - Murray

I'd go 3-4-3 with Toby, Baird and Phillips on the bench probably.

    Cheers

No. Now that Sunderland are safe, their players are going to be getting drunk over the next few days, and will be a wreck for Chelsea (imo, obvs could be wrong). So I say stick with your Chelsea players. Also, I expect van Gaal to blood some youngsters, so personally wouldn't touch them, not to mention they'll be up against an all out Hull. So Jelavic, N'doye or Cisse might be worth looking at. Personally I did Giroud to Costa, but I'm 70 points ahead in my league.

Well, you helped me, Absinthe....clearly, an analogous scenario.

I would be inclined to make this move if you felt that you did not have a decent bench player to take Hazard's space Perhaps Yaya for Hazard?

IDK about captaining Lukaku. Do you have another non-Kun option such as Silva?

Of all the non-highly owned mids, I do see Mata and Yaya as the best choices, followed by the usual suspects discussed over the last 3 days.

I'm going to put some money into a betfair account next season and do some season ticker based gambling.

Basically, when a team had good fix, put some bets on them to do well in season long bets, e.g. top 4, staying up, top 6 etc. Then after the good run of fix, lay the bet.

Assuming the team does above average in their easy fix, their odds will have dropped for the season long bet and you should see a profit.

That hasn't worked for me. In fact, the opposite. If a team has a difficult run of fixtures and they win a few of those, that's when the odds change.

Well if a team does well they will likely move up the table. Betting for these is often dominated by league position. I got the idea a few years ago when Southampton started the league with awful fix and were rock bottom.

They were favs for relegation after about 6 games and then had easy fix. I put a bet on them to stay up and it paid off handsomely.

Never got round to trying to do the same again though.

your logic would suggest these bets are safest in relegation battles where quick runs of results can lead to big leaps up the table.

        Constantly improving 🙂

      Mata

      PKs

      More goal involvement

Less likely to be booked for diving

More likely to benefit if Ashley is *not* booked for diving and wins a penalty

ML Chasers... who are you going for in an attempt to claw back the deficit this week?

    Got my eye on:

Mahrez, Cleverley and Remy at the moment.

      lukaku and silva

my ml rival has benteke kane and aguero for his 3

he has 1 transfer this week..... I wonder if he would change his front 3... I wouldn't be surprised if he takes a hit because he hasn't been shy from doing that this season.

My front 3 will be vardy, lukaku, aguero... I might even captain lukaku or silva

My rival and I have near identical teams... we had 10 out of 11 players the same in the DGW.

Too chicken to go Benteke as I think he'll be rested.

Ulloa interests me big time but already have Vardy.

of course there isn't outside of our own team.

No one gave us a hope, they expected us to crash out of the group stages without a point. Then they expected South Africa to crush us. Then India we making plans on what they would do for the final. Now the Aussies are asking to have the trophy polished in advance

No one has taken us seriously since this thing started, yet he we are in the final. Personally I'm happy for them to write us off, makes victory that bit sweeter

Hey guys, is there a defender sub 6.2 worth taking a hit for this week ?

    I have Terry + Moreno + one of {PvA / Clyne / Alderweireld} atm.

    A. Jagielka against TOT ?
    B. Hutton against BUR ?
    C. Cresswell against new ?

    Cahill is just too expensive

Hi everyone. I need your help!
I’m currently ranked 2nd in a H2H league, where the first three teams are promoted to the next higher H2H league. I need a win in the last GW to secure a top 3 place.

    My team:
    Krul / Foster
Stones, Terry, Hutton / van Aanholt, B.Jones
Cazorla, Sanchez, Hazard, Özil / Henderson
    Vardy, Agüero, Kane
    1 FT, 0.6 ITB

    Opponent:
    Ospina / Fabianski
Bellerin, Ivanovic, Stones / van Aanholt, Moreno
    Sterling, Sanchez, Eriksen, Hazard, Fellaini
    Kane, Benteke, Murray
    2 FT, 1.9 ITB

How would you use your FT?

      • 11 Years

i'd change either kane or the goalkeeper.

Dunno what to do about Lescott and PVA...neither has good fixtures but WBA just did Chelsea three nil, with Lescott playing like Ronaldo, and Sunderland look like a rock solid defence all of a sudden.

I'd play lescott and probably bench PVA. Congrats on Lawr 6 btw. I was hoping for a last day title decider but sadly that's not to be 🙁

Any ideas what to do here?

    Myhill
    Ivan Terry Dawson
    Sanchez Ramsey Albrighton Phillips Silva
    Aguero Giroud

    Mignolet Kane Skrtel Toby

    0.6 itb 1ft

I'm thinking Lukaku and Walcott in for Sanchez and Giroud.
