Our series of members articles, assessing the season gone by, continues this evening with a look at Manchester City.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men kicked off the campaign as champions after finishing two points clear of Liverpool in 2013/14 but a poor Easter period, where they lost four times in six matches between Gameweeks 27-32, allowed Chelsea to clinch the crown with three fixtures to spare.

We take time out to delve into their data, assessing the performance of City’s key Fantasy assets in terms of their creative and goal threat output.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

This Japan team looks a bit arrogant to me. If we can retain the ball a bit more and not play so many direct balls in good positions, then we have a decent chance.

These challenges make a mockery of all the excuses made by ex-pro's for Premier League players going to ground.

How many PL forwards would fight to keep their footing having made contact with a keeper rushing out? Naive it might be, but refreshingly honest and no nonsense.

No. I'll try to make it easier. Each of the reasons I mention is a word for me not picking him so it's 2 words. He's a risky pick because he'll play .......... ............

        1) How often he'll play
        2) Which position he'll play

Also no Milner? He'll be one of our most important players next season. I think we'll play this 4-3-3:

        Migs
        Clyne Skrtel Sakho Moreno
        Hendo Can Milner
        Firmino Sturridge/Benteke Coutinho

I've watched every game except the first group game, and while the performances have been getting better, we still lack composure at the back. I do think Mark Sampson's tactics are to go from back to front as quickly as possible but it would be great to see England get it down and pass it when Japan aren't pressing. It will also have the effect of making the direct ball more dangerous when it does come.

I don't agree. Much like Arsenal who have a large amount of midfield players it is inevitable but I think he'll get the right team this term.

What stopped him from finding the right one last season? The Sturridge injury certainly didn't help, but there were so much unnecessary changes elsewhere. But I agree that finding the optimal lineup is not a straightforward formula.

His almost duty laden responsibility to play Gerrard was a big factor. I can see some tinkering at first to find his team but expect Cout and Hendo to play a big part. With a big squad rotation is always likely. The manager has to also keep players happy.
