Season after season we’re seeing new weekly and daily Fantasy Football games launch and compete for our attention. It’s become obvious that these types of games are here to stay and are growing at pace.

This summer has been no different and it’s became clear that we needed a new approach to dealing with the games and to help guide those who decide to dip into them.

While we’ve limited ourselves to working with two full-time weekly/daily game partners in previous seasons, this time around we’re going to be more fluid over the course of the campaign.

You’ll see a number of games appear on our pages, some new, some familiar, although we’ll never look to cover more than two dedicated games in any given Gameweek.

In addition, we’ve a new approach to discussing these games and guiding your involvement.

We’ve recruited the 2013/14 Fantasy Premier League champion, Tom Fenley and we’re setting him a challenge.

He’ll get £100 stake money in every game that we include on our pages and we’re challenging him to use his undoubted Fantasy Football talent to turn that into profit.

Tom will be here updating his progress in each game, mulling over the options presented in a bid to build on his stake money.

He’ll also be providing a new “Weekly Shop” article in midweek which will detail his thinking for his player selections, outlining those picks that will be the mainstays of his weekly/daily lineups and those budget “enablers” that allow for big spend elsewhere.

In this way, we hope that we can help guide your strategies in whatever game you’re playing, whilst giving you an insight into playing some of our partner games week to week, including the prizes and formats they may have on offer.

In the meantime, we’d appreciate your views on daily and weekly games and will be starting a Hot Topic later this evening to capture your thoughts.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Why is Gradel not included in the Bournemouth GW1 lineup if he is 'nailed-on'. Do you think he will be eased into the PL?

Fitness issues only. He's only just signed.

Being a big signing, he might be chucked in though. Similar to Benteke.

Thanks. He had an impressive record in Ligue 1 last year and could be a bargain option - I'm sticking with Ritchie at the moment though.

Feel pretty settled on this now but open to some last minute tinkering...

    Ruddy / Butland

    Azpi / Francis / Huth / Cedric / Coates

    Hazard / Ozil / Sterling / Chadli / Sinclair

    Rooney / Benteke / Sakho

    0.0m itb

    Am I good to go?

Considering downgrading Coates, Sinclair and Chadli for 4.0, 4.5, Mane. What do you think?

I'd prefer Fabregas in the Chelsea lineup to Willian and I think you could downgrade Ozil to a 6.0-7.0 mid such as Ritchie, Bolasie etc.

Not sure about Defoe as Sunderland don't get many attacking returns.

      Defence is v. strong

I get where you're coming from - I've ditched Hazard for the first few GWs as I plan to wildcard early to get Aguero in. Willian did well in the Community Shield but the issue is whether he has enough end product and playtime to be a worthwhile fantasy pick.

Regarding Palace.. There are some weird rationalisations on here for not gettin their attackers:
    Consensus on here:

Everyone is expecting a big season for them on the attacking front.
Puncheon is priced at a bargain 6.0 and will keep all left footed set pieces
Dont plan too far ahead with attackers (Palace opening fixtures nor ARS AVL)
MCI and tot have sh!te defenses(Palace's "extremely tough run of 3 games after the above icludes both these fixtures)
It's better punting on a experienced EPL player from a better side rather than a promoted one(yet people have Ritchie @6 over puncheon)
Great fixtures in the long term for cheap players if other priorities come up and you cat transfer out(great run post GW 6)

Yet the consensus is: Avoid Palace attackers.
    Weird really

I have him, Mahrez(another overlooked player) and Sakho in weird rotation atm 🙂

And yes they are part of an Aguero enabled team 🙂

Palace have bought a lot of attackers though mate

Personally I'm waiting a few weeks to get an idea of what team Pards sees as his best

        Wickham, Bamford

        Punch, Cabaye, Bolasie, Zaha

Ledley, McArthur, Jedi, Cabaye (yes he could play deep)

        too many variables

Cabaye will rob Puncheon's set pieces.

    3. Matt
      • 13 Years
      10 years, 5 months ago

I agree that Puncheon could be a solid option, my only doubt, is the effect that Cabaye will have on his role in the team. Cabaye could play in a more advanced role leaving Puncheon to play more defensively. There is also talk that he could be played out on the wing if Bolasie does not make the start of the season, but personally, I think Mutch will take that position if Yannick's not available.

So yes Puncheon is a viable option.

In relation to Palace's forwards, I would stay stay well away, as there are 4 or 5 competing for 1 spot. Bamford or Murray will start vs Norwich I think, but there's too much rotation risk.

      Hope that helps 🙂

4 of 7 away from home.

      3 of 7 vs. last year's Top 3.

Surely there are better options over the first couple of months in an already very deep talent pool of midfielders?

last time RMT. Please be hard as u want

    Panti (Schwarz)
    Ivan, Darmian, Huth (Cedric, Jenk)
    Fabregas, Walcott, Mane, Mirallas, Mahrez
    Rooney, Tekker (Sakho)

Probably on GW2 going for Chadli or Eriksen, and GW4 load up City boys

    Major flaws???

I would worry about Darmian being nailed from the start. Miralias is different, but too risky IMO.

thkx, if darmian doesnt play cedric comes in and i'll assess later on. Mirallas is a hog, he just shoots, runs, driblles and no DEF, thats FPL gold lololool

Maybe LVG could have subbed him in instead of krul! Maybe he could have been the difference!!

Panti is the only Sunderland defensive option that is nailed

    Jones competing with Matthews
    Kaboul competing with O'Shea
    PvA is glued on
    Coates is hooked on

How did Chadli look in the second half tonight? You see, I've got a theory that there'll be an over emphasis on marking Kane this season and Chadli will be pretty much left to his own devices (relatively speaking) to score a bucket load.

    Stands to reason?

Cult hero aside...doesn't Chambo have just as much a chance to start as Walcott? (just a question, keep your swords sheathed)
