Welcome to our annual attempt to select the best and worst options in the Fantasy Premier League game and assess how the forthcoming Premier League season will pan out.

Unlike previous attempts, last year saw a number of successful predictions from the Scouts. Granville was correct in predicting a stellar debut season for Diego Costa, Danny Ings and Gylfi Sigurdsson, while Jordan Henderson rewarded my faith in him as a budget midfielder.

Naturally we didn’t get it right all the time and there were some noticeable horror predictions. Andre Schurrle’s departure from Chelsea meant Mark’s guess that he would be the year’s best differential proved ill-fated. Nikica Jelavic, meanwhile, failed to live up to the hype generated by Ryan as being the top scoring budget forward of the year.

Here’s the link if you want to remind yourself just how reliable our soothsaying powers can be.

Hopefully in our latest predictions for the forthcoming Premier League our embarrassing picks will be consigned to the past for good.

Worth having a Leicester keeper & defender?
(had Ruddy/Butland combo, but ShawX out makes me think of pairing Schmeichel with someone)

bilic seems to have a bit of di canio about him.
think they have enough in the tem to bail the manager out though if he really struggled. can see payet to sakho being a bit of a ashley young to carew, or bentley to santa cruz prolific combo

I'm letting you down this time Anorak - first season in 4 I don't have home/away and hard/easy clean sheet spreadsheets 🙁

I was going for Myhill and Butland as both felt underpriced but with Marshall looming I've defaulted to Ruddy and Butland. Can't say I'm pleased with myself but it looks a solid combo.

That's what I have for now. Solid perhaps, but I'm down on Norwich's prospects and Butlands fix are a bit squiffy too.

Hennessey/McCarthy is an interesting (yet risky) prospect..?

Much more maverick and therefore attractive, definitely risk attached and fixtures aren't too clever in the short term. Might be a post-wildcard option?

I don't rate Norwich particularly but they were tough to break down at home last time they were up and Neil seems the pragmatic type. (I'm trying to convince myself now so that I don't feel the need to tinker)

Yeah. Safety in numbers is convincing me. I'm definitely more sheep and less dog in my old age...

Please help me to solve this

    Is this defence too weak?

    Schmeichel Schwarzer

    Mertesaker Cedric Francis (Saylor Targett)

Brought in Targett for Williams so that i can bring in aguero when he is fit and firing.
    Expecting some suggestions

    Still final tuning..

    A Clyne/Mane/Tekkers
    B Francis/Walcott/Pelle

I'm boring myself now so this is the last change (probably)

Has anyone thought of Richards as their £4.5m def. I am debating downgrading Mert to Richards and then using the money to upgrade buddy to Cech + 4M def

    What do you guys think?

    A. Ulloa and Ritchie

    B. Wilson and Mahrez plus 1m to spend elsewhere? ??

    A) Mane, Fletcher, Wilson
    B) Ritchie, Mahrez, Sakho

On A at the moment but VERY tempted to switch to B. Feel B gives more opportunity to play the fixtures and rotate and really feel Sakho is worth finding 1.0 over Wilson for. However, Mane has the potential to explode, especially GW1.

    Any thoughts, good people?
