Welcome to our annual attempt to select the best and worst options in the Fantasy Premier League game and assess how the forthcoming Premier League season will pan out.

Unlike previous attempts, last year saw a number of successful predictions from the Scouts. Granville was correct in predicting a stellar debut season for Diego Costa, Danny Ings and Gylfi Sigurdsson, while Jordan Henderson rewarded my faith in him as a budget midfielder.

Naturally we didn’t get it right all the time and there were some noticeable horror predictions. Andre Schurrle’s departure from Chelsea meant Mark’s guess that he would be the year’s best differential proved ill-fated. Nikica Jelavic, meanwhile, failed to live up to the hype generated by Ryan as being the top scoring budget forward of the year.

Here’s the link if you want to remind yourself just how reliable our soothsaying powers can be.

Hopefully in our latest predictions for the forthcoming Premier League our embarrassing picks will be consigned to the past for good.

do it fissh. nailed to start gw1 (quite rare for man city as he and clichy are so rarely injured) and there are tonnes of good 5.5 guys to swap to should it go sour. for example i love the look of danny rose in gw2-6

Downgrade a goalie/one of your big defenders and upgrade your cheap defenders/Deeney.

Think there are better options than Puncheon in same price bracket. Look at Cabaye/Ritchie?

think the 0.5 extra for a pulis keeper is worth it. plus doesnt leave the immediate issue of being worried when speroni is back

I'd be surprised if Speroni gets back in. So many times the man in possession keeps his place. Im going for those £8m keepers, banking on some save points

agree speroni isnt a cert to come straight back in, just dont want the worry of what if. mainly it's the 6 clean sheets speroni got in 3000 odd mins. not sure how the pardew and warnock figures compare though, and i guess cabaye could aid them, defend with possession etc

Lets be honest your going to make changes anyway in the first three weeks. Extra 0.5m for me was difference between a Man U defender and a £5m average defender.

I like it. Personally would downgrade Ritchie and keep the cash for an Aguero/Sanchez fund though, or upgrade one of your other mids so you can switch them down easily and not have to do 2/3 transfers.

        *sigh*

        Azpi could well go in.

I am a little tempted to go Clybe over Azp too. I could really need the extra 0.5

I have Darmian and a 5m 5th mid. Easy to get one in, might just do it.

Why not? Funds? If you have a 5.5 who is better than Azpi?

Bellerin or even Darmian could get more points in the first 4 GWs.

Going with Walcott personally- better fixtures and potentially playing up front

Yes but that's the risk to consider- could be outweighed by his explosiveness

Koscielny if you have the funds- bonus system will favour him

      Ozil based on pre-season

Ruddy- personal choice and less of a rotation risk

      Sterling
      Kosc
      Ozil
      Schmeichel unless you have Huth/Morgan

Going without Hazard and Aguero is going to hurt me, but I like my team without them

Final decision I am struggling on:
    Mane and Benteke +1m
    Pelle + Henderson

    Thank you!

    Current team:

    Ruddy - Butland
    Koscielny - Azpi - Huth - Francis - Coates
    Hazard - Sterling - Ozil - Ritchie - Mahrez
    Rooney - Pelle - Sakho

Debating the following punt to move away from the template:

    Ritchie -> Lens
    Sakho. -> Wilson (+0.5m itb)

    Thoughts?
