Welcome to our annual attempt to select the best and worst options in the Fantasy Premier League game and assess how the forthcoming Premier League season will pan out.

Unlike previous attempts, last year saw a number of successful predictions from the Scouts. Granville was correct in predicting a stellar debut season for Diego Costa, Danny Ings and Gylfi Sigurdsson, while Jordan Henderson rewarded my faith in him as a budget midfielder.

Naturally we didn’t get it right all the time and there were some noticeable horror predictions. Andre Schurrle’s departure from Chelsea meant Mark’s guess that he would be the year’s best differential proved ill-fated. Nikica Jelavic, meanwhile, failed to live up to the hype generated by Ryan as being the top scoring budget forward of the year.

Here’s the link if you want to remind yourself just how reliable our soothsaying powers can be.

Hopefully in our latest predictions for the forthcoming Premier League our embarrassing picks will be consigned to the past for good.

Mata is the last one to take a pen, so he hasn't missed yet to lose duties (which is a silly way of handling it)

I remember the last time West Ham won at Arsenal as Bobby Z scored and pretty much retired off Sol Campbell with his silky skills. That was 8 yrs ago. Quite tempted by Walcott and giroud now 😉

      Walcott or Rooney

Walcott feels more likely to do the spectacular: 1 or 14 points, Rooney seems more like a 5-8 pointer.

Nice win for your boys over Mark's last night.

yep, think this summarises it. it's like staring at a garage with a volvo estate and a ferrari in it. the volvo is duller but will definitely get you there whilst the ferrari is far more appealing but also might end up in a ditch upside down

We both have a similar way of looking at value and what is the end result? Your captain isn't even in my team. 😕

        Good luck with the season.

If he weren't captain this week he probably wouldn't be in my team. As it stands he's the best option with Aguero a doubt and he is also a quick release of funds if I want to upgrade someone in week 3 or 4 when I'll likely want to downgrade him to one of the City mids.

Best of luck to you too 🙂

Yeah, I do get it actually and I considered it carefully too. Might have gone that way if I didn't want Fabregas long term. Rooney for me. 🙂

Aguero. Because any time you can (c) thr best overall player, and have it be a differential, it cant be wrong.

I'm not too concerned about it, really. I have Hazard, Rooney, and Walcott in my team. Any of them could do well, but I have a certain cover if I make the wrong choice.
Will probably go Hazard because I'm boring. Walcott is tempting, but I want to be sure my captain plays 90 minutes.

    Please comment..

    Schmeichel / Hennesey
    Azpi / Cedric / Mings / Huth / Targett
    Haz (VC) / Walcott (C) / Mane / Stirling / Fletcher
    Rooney / Tekkers / Sahko

Unsure of my defenders ... Had Bellerin/Mert instead of Azpi .. but couldnt really use the .5 elsewhere... ideas?

Please help me to solve this

    Is this defence too weak?

    Schmeichel Schwarzer

    Mertesaker Cedric Francis (Saylor Targett)

Brought in Targett for Williams so that i can bring in aguero when he is fit and firing.

Target will play max 1-2 weeks and Saylor is far from nailed

In short-Yes it's weak, upgrade Targett to any of Coates/Bassong/Prodl(rotates well with Francis) etc.

Trying to find funds to upgrade Henderson to Mane. I'm currently down to two options for my 5th mid and 3rd forward, which one do you think is better?

    A) Sinclair and Jerome
    B) Mahrez and Graham

I'm tempted with A) since at least they both appear to be regular starters although B) is probably better for this GW since Graham would be benched anyway.

Alternatively, i go back to Henderson with Surman and Sakho.
