Welcome to our annual attempt to select the best and worst options in the Fantasy Premier League game and assess how the forthcoming Premier League season will pan out.

Unlike previous attempts, last year saw a number of successful predictions from the Scouts. Granville was correct in predicting a stellar debut season for Diego Costa, Danny Ings and Gylfi Sigurdsson, while Jordan Henderson rewarded my faith in him as a budget midfielder.

Naturally we didn’t get it right all the time and there were some noticeable horror predictions. Andre Schurrle’s departure from Chelsea meant Mark’s guess that he would be the year’s best differential proved ill-fated. Nikica Jelavic, meanwhile, failed to live up to the hype generated by Ryan as being the top scoring budget forward of the year.

Here’s the link if you want to remind yourself just how reliable our soothsaying powers can be.

Hopefully in our latest predictions for the forthcoming Premier League our embarrassing picks will be consigned to the past for good.

Not really harassed you guys with an RMT and i've offered a lot of help on here.. but now i'm a bit confused and i need a little help! Just not sure about this one dilemma

    A) Merte + Chadli + Sinclair
(Sinclair will only play when Mahrez/Sakho have a bad fixture/injury and i have faith in Chadli 🙂 )

    B) Jenkinson/Williams/Toby + Mane + Wanyama
(means starting Mahrez and Sakho every week. Will bench the 5.0 defender GW 1)

You can go with Jenkinson + Chadli + Ki (Rotates well with Mahrez)

i've looked at Ki's stats cause Doos keeps mentioning it.. And i just dont see it. A Swansea fan wrote an article on Swansea the other day and he warned people against getting Ki too. Think i'd rather a punt on Ibe/Sinclair more really

The other option to get Mane would be to downgrade Sakho to Deeney/Wilson and get him in for Chadli 🙁 (lets me keep Merte + Sinclair) .. not sure it's worth it but

I think A, both Mert + Chadli in better and more offensive teams, I do not like Wanyama to occupy another Soto's spot. Toby might help to improve the Spurs defence, but I believe Spurs is still leaky with their high defensive line. I worry last season's Swansea defence might just overachieved, I am not sure. Jenkinson is a good shout if can be rotated well with another def (Bou - Francis/Mings maybe). Chadli is as explosive as Mane, but he has a potential to play as ST when needed (If no further reinforcement). This has been mentioned by Poch.

      Will stick with A)
Cedric will have to as my only Soton player
(and tbh their fixtures take a turn for the worse GW 5 and their attackers dont have great odds to do well vs newcastle based on paddy power 🙂 ... justification begins )

You reply to my posts so will take the time to do the same.

Everyone said A but I'll make a case for B

This is very close, but I think B edges just by a tiny bit. Would be ideal if you could somehow squeeze another 0.5 to make the 5.0 DEF to Bellerin/Mertesacker

Ultimately, comes down to the offense though

I like Chadli's goal threat alot but he will likely play on the wing whereas Mane will be more central, almost like at striker at times. You can argue Mane is more explosive and has better fixtures to start the season, IMO

Good luck with whatever you choose.

I must admit that is the first Elphick pick I have seen 😛 Coates seems to be the most likely Sunderland 4.5 to start, though Jones may also do. Those would be my main question marks, rest looks solid 🙂

What do you reckon to schlupp over huth, purely from the fact the team news article seemed to suggest he may start in the midfield rather than the back? I know he's .5 more but I've got enough with my current team.

So at the moment I have A
    A)Huth+ another 4.5(Francis/Coates)
    B)Schlupp+ another 4.5 (Francis/Coates
    C)Cedric+Huth/another 4.5

So don't think Schlupp will start?? The team news lineups page on here shows him starting as a midfielder, maybe able to bag some assists from midfield, as well as as many clean sheets as say huth.

Thanks mate. Kneejerking is stronger now that gameweek is a few hours away. Who should be my captain? Its wally at the moment

hazard is safe due to the number captaining him...wally obviously comes with the risk of not starting, but he's explosive...so it's either safety or punt, up to you

Well rooney is my vice cap. So even if wally doesnt start, rooney automatically gets the cap right?

no walcott will come off the bench for arsenal if he doesn't start, will get game time

    Huth or Morgan?

Comparison tool heavily favors the latter...

    Thoughts on this?

    Schmeichel (Rudd)

    Cedric-Mertesacker-Williams (Taylor, Targett)

    Walcott-Chadli-Henderson-Hazard (Wanyama)

    Rooney-Aguero-Wilson

(I'm not sure about Chadli...should I sacrifice him to get better defence?) Thanks.

Do I squeeze Mane in somehow - maybe downgrade a defender?

    Ruddy Butland
    Azpil Koscielny Cedric Huth Francis
    Hazard Sterling Ozil Chadli Benteleb
    Rooney Benteke Deeney
