Welcome to our annual attempt to select the best and worst options in the Fantasy Premier League game and assess how the forthcoming Premier League season will pan out.

Unlike previous attempts, last year saw a number of successful predictions from the Scouts. Granville was correct in predicting a stellar debut season for Diego Costa, Danny Ings and Gylfi Sigurdsson, while Jordan Henderson rewarded my faith in him as a budget midfielder.

Naturally we didn’t get it right all the time and there were some noticeable horror predictions. Andre Schurrle’s departure from Chelsea meant Mark’s guess that he would be the year’s best differential proved ill-fated. Nikica Jelavic, meanwhile, failed to live up to the hype generated by Ryan as being the top scoring budget forward of the year.

Here’s the link if you want to remind yourself just how reliable our soothsaying powers can be.

Hopefully in our latest predictions for the forthcoming Premier League our embarrassing picks will be consigned to the past for good.

      targett - short term
      saylor - not nailed
you will have to waste a FT to replace at least one of them, at max get only one of them not both. mid is just too weak. very unbalance team, not for long term.

Yep, I've gone all out on the attack, too tip heavy I guess, can downgrade benteke for deeney and upgrade mid

Your the Bournemouth man in the know i hear, can i please have your thoughts on Surman as fifth mid? I currently have him sitting there

Surman is pretty much nailed on. However, he's a DM with not much attacking threat, he scored 3 of our 98 goals in the Championship last year. I would look elsewhere.

Hmm very interesting, appreciated. The thing is elsewhere there isn't a lot more attacking threat 😆

Wilson should do well at the start with our decent fixtures. He's quick and a lot stronger than he looks.

    Koscielny - Francis - Huth - Williams - Coates
    Hazard (c) - Ozil - Ritchie - Mahrez - Westwood

If you're interested in Payet/Milner, I would personally just take them from GW1. Something unexpected always happens in GW1, which may force your hand on another transfer.

      Other than that, decent 🙂

against weaker opposition at home wenger will sometimes trot out the cazorla-ramsey double pivot.

    A) Azpi, Aguero, Sakho
    B) Saylor, Aguero, Benteke
    C) Pelle, Benteke and Sterling?

    Very simple - A,B or C?

Is he in a more attacking role? Is Hendo on set pieces?

Aguero not match fit yet so he's even more of a punt until he's back to full fitness

Aguero can still do well with a cameo stint.

Would you be comfortable with the god awful bench below? 🙁 Intend to early WC (GW4) - is this team feasible and if not who should I cut to release funds?

    Schmeichel (Schwarzer)
    Azpi, Kosc, Francis (Targett, Saylor)
    Hazard, Sterling, Mane, Ozil (Bentaleb)
    Rooney, Benteke, Sakho

I can't say I would be comfortable with that, no.

Azpi to a 5 (e.g. Cedric) then you have 2 x 0.5 to upgrade both your 4mil defenders.

Would you sacrifice Azpi over Sakho?

A question I am currently struggling with myself. At the moment, I am on yes. Though I may easily yet change my mind.

    Courtois £5.5 (Hennessey £4.0)

    Mertesacker £5.5 Gomez £4.5 Coates £4.5 (Ward £4.5 Targett £4.0)

    Walcott £9.0 (C) Sterling £9.0 Özil £8.5 (V) Mané £8.0 (Bentaleb £4.5)

    Rooney £10.5 Kane £9.5 Benteke £8.5

    General thoughts on this?
    Ramsey over Walcott?
Is Benteke gonna hit the ground running?
No Hazard or Aguero, is this a symptom of some sort of major brain trauma?

You can always sell them after Europa League begins.

Yeah. They played on Thursday and next Europa game is 20th so I'm terms of it affecting players and the managers decision I think it's already in play really

Here is a thought.. try and keep an open mind
On Wednesday in the pre-Vitesse conference Koeman confirmed that Bertrand will be out for 2-3 weeks. That is a minimum of 3 GWs. Considering the international break is after GW 4 i would not be surprised if Bertrand returns straight after that..
Now, Bear in mind that Saints fixtures turn ugly post GW 4.. (wba MUN SWA che liv) would you really want a defender for that run.
Maybe going Targett instead of Cedric could be a very shrewd move 😉 .. Should rise aplenty too if he gets a CS or 2 at 4.0

Last season Bertrand was scoring many points even the schedule turned bad, I lost some points after I transferred him out from my team during the ugly fixture.
