pissed that Rooney didn't get the goal, but oh well.

Impressed with United's defence, considering i thougght we had little chance to keep a cleanie especially without De Gea.

romero looked a little shakey with the ball at his feet at first but ended up putting in a quality performance. good distribution too.

united stll seem to lack bite in the final third

I'm starting to get panic! I have just 12 points! how is that even possible?!
I mean, there's one dude with 72 points after today. He must be some kind of genius! He had 2m ITB like " I dont need to use all mye money, my team is awsome" !!
Help me out, talk some sense to me, before I use the WC tonight and do some crazy s*it.

Rooney is too slow and Mata is too slow. Surely its not wise to have them as a 10 and 9 together.

Would prefer a slow but creative Mata to a Memphis who seems way out of his comfort zone. I think pace on the wings is more important though that's just my own thinking.

Yes. Pace on the wings, craft in the centre. United aren't a "ball over the top" team, never were.

Should play in the "Ronaldo Position" out left and cut in. Not in the hole. Classic LVG and now he´s bringing in Pedro as well. So Memphis probably stuck.

People mention price rises before GW finished plus I see a few transfers out for people who have not even played yet (WCs being played?). No real site can predict transfer falls/rises, although personally I would look more at the falls than the rises, 0.2 to rise 0.1, 0.1 to 0.1 fall

Help me out please guys. I know this is no reason to panic but my team has many faults and I am considering using a wild card. I only got 15 with 6 players, Only Henderson, cazorla, Sterling, Mertesacker and Cedric remain. What do I need to do to fix this team? Is a wildcard needed?

    Pantilimon - Hennesy
    Mertesacker - Cedric - Francis - Huth - (Bassong)
    Hazard (C) - Cazorla - Sterling - Henderson -( Wanyama)
    Rooney - Kane - (Sakho)

Sunderlands defence is awful ruling pantilimon out.

Francis and Bassong didn't play well (now i am considering dropping them). But I don't know whether it was a one off (particularly for Francis who seems promising)

Kane went from being my starlet to someone who has lost his sharpness in a few hours.

Nice looking team, so I certainly wouldn't use a wildcard. At some point maybe change up the goalkeepers, but I would not say it is critical. And if I had Kane, I would captain him next week.

Defense is fine. You have Mert and Cedric. I wouldn't waste any transfers on that, and I certainly wouldn't wildcard. Fabianski is a good idea. I have Rooney and am building up money to change him into Aguero. But that was always my plan. If you are planning on getting Aguero, I would put the priority on that as opposed to worrying about the goalkeeper. That can wait.

For me I was thinking Hazard -> Fabregas/ best performing midfielder beneath 9.5

If rooney is performing well i was thinking E Hazard -> 8.0 and Kane -> Aguero
If not, Hazard -> 9.0 (fabregas?) and rooney to aguero.

Then again, it is Hazard 😛

Do you think I need premiums? I am being told not to panic but I just need to be put at ease regarding the defence. or atleast bbe told what i need to do so i can construct a reasonable plan to do it 😀

Well I have Cedric, Huth and Mings(basically the same as Francis but didn't play) Norwich didn't appeal to me but it has only been 1 game so who knows? You have Mertesacker where have Lescott which is a win to you.

Now I'm guessing that you will rotate your 3 cheap defenders and always play Mertesacker and Cedric. Rotation can work out very well and I'd suggest Francis was a little unlucky not to get a clean sheet. Pantilimon is all about the save points and Dick will sort the defence out soon enough.

The plan is to rotate the three of them to cover 1-2 positions depending on the fixtures of my attackers i.e. I left out sakho and wanyama this G.W. but more often than not it will be 3 of them vying for one position.

So you believe Francis, Bassong and Huth don't need replacing (given the current circumstances)?

My advice would be to downgrade Henderson, take out Bassong, and leave Panti for the time being. With that you should have 11.5M for a MID + DEF. I would go get someone like Cabaye and Jenkinson, hope this helps. This is what I would do aha!

Bassong and Francis will keep barely any CS just saying. Try to get some 5.0M in, but don't bother right now. Maybe get Jenks or Ogbonna in with your FT

It can be fixed one transfer a week just fine. WCs are for *big* problems. You have three good defenders after all. Really not so bad.

OK, I'll give you an honest response seeing this is going on and on. But it will be my opinion only and may be no better than yours.

          1. The GKs are a poor pair, there are better 5.0 options than Pantilimon (Stekelenburg, Fabianski) and Hennessey is not the preferred Palace GK. For the same price you could have a good rotation like Myhill/Schmeichel or Ruddy/Butland.
          2. Mertesacker is a poor pick, either find the 0.5 for Koscielny (who will deliver more than value for that in all likelihood) or take a 5.5 from elsewhere such as Darmian/Shaw.
          3. Bournemouth defenders should be a complete "no go" area, that team will leak goals. They are for me anyhow. You need a defender that will rotate well with Huth such as Wollscheid or Lescott.
          4. You have the wrong Norwich 4.5, Martin is nailed and has a better goalscoring record than Bassong.
          5. In addition I think your team structure is poor, too much spent on the midfield and not the best player selections made either.
          6. Because of this you also have missed the "sweet spot" at 5.5 midfielder where there are a number of good options you could use FTs to rotate according to fixtures from time to time.
          7. Absence of a Southampton attacker (Mane/Pelle) looks ill-advised to me considering their good fixtures.

Finally, I repeat... these are my opinions and yours may be as good or better than mine. You have to make your own decisions.

All Out Attack chip looks a tricky one to negotiate. If we get 3 DGWs, maybe use it on the least attractive one. But that will be hard to know.

      I already played it.

Seeing the lack of clean sheets it looks a good decision thus far. But I estimate its value at only 2-4 points anyway so I was glad to use it before my 4-3-3 with 2 x 4.5 mids make it pointless.

Saving it for a DGW makes little sense, defenders get DGWs too. In fact even the Bench Bonus will be very tricky to use in a DGW.

Yeah maybe. Perhaps best kept for a defensive injury crisis in your team as I said above. Surely worth 4 points at least with the transfer saved.

          • 11 Years
          11 years, 4 days ago

Yeah that's the other option I considered. But as I will be 4-3-3 with good defenders (3 premiums and a rotation pair) I can't see me needing it for that purpose.

If you have a cheap defence with some risky picks that could get dropped, however, that might be the best use for it.
