After yesterday’s disappointing start, many Fantasy managers will be looking for some of Sunday’s heavy hitters to come to the rescue.

A couple of 1.30pm kick-offs get us underway. Community Shield winners Arsenal welcome West Ham to the Emirates before Steven McClaren takes charge of Newcastle for the first time in the top-flight as in-form Southampton roll up to St James’ Park.

Stoke play host to big-spending Liverpool in the late kick-off, with Brendan Rodgers’ side looking to immediately avenge their 6-1 mauling at the Britannia in the final league fixture of 2014/15.

      They actually played pretty well, though tired late on. Still dodgy defensively to crosses and late on their midfield left the centre halves exposed. Going forward they looked decent especially on the counter with Sissoko and (ahem) Obertan. Wijnaldum finished well and had a decent shot blocked. If they can get some consistency they will be safely midtable.

      Newcastle actually played pretty well. Wijnaldum with a lovely goal, and always looked dangerous. Mbemba very solid at the back. Colback probably my MOTM.

      Still got a big problem defending crosses/corners, but not a bad start at all.
