Fantasy Bet is the latest game to catch our eye in our search for new and different ways of playing weekly and daily Fantasy Football. A key factor in this new offering is its simplicity, which replicates the familiar Fantasy Premier League (FPL) rules and scoring.

Another major plus is the focus on customised leagues, offering the chance to create tailor-made contests based on all the week’s games, single matches whilst only allowing players from certain teams to be picked. Those Manchester United fans dreaming of a Manchester City and Liverpool player-free league should definitely take a look.

We’re partnering with the game over the season and Tom Fenley will be opening his account and waging another £100 of stake money, starting this coming Friday. Tom will also be offering player recommendations in tomorrow’s “Weekly Shop” article.

For now though, here’s the full skinny on Fantasy Bet…

What is it?

Understanding the scoring and gameplay of Fantasy Bet couldn’t be simpler for those familiar with FPL. It recreates the same rules of selecting a 15-man squad, with a starting XI, four substitutes and a captain as well as vice captain.

The scoring is also identical to FPL. The only exception is the slightly different bonus points allocation, although it is also based on a performance-based  statistical model as FPL is.

There are slight tweaks, though. While initial player prices mirror FPL, they will remain unchanged until a January transfer window realignment. There’s no need to worry about Riyad Mahrez’ price rise, then.

Another change is that the number of players Fantasy managers can use from one team increases as the pool of teams that can be selected from falls. For a league based on a single match, up to 15 players from one side can be selected if you feel particularly confident they will do the business.

Why Should I Play?

Fantasy Bet’s FPL familiarity makes it an easy game to dive straight into and there is an appealing flexibility around leagues, with free to enter contests as well and entry price leagues.

Although you can only enter one team per league, you can enter as many as you like and also enter the same team in multiple leagues.

In addition, Fantasy Bet has created its own leagues, called “Guaranteed Games”, which offer a cast-iron minimum payout. Once registered and logged in all leagues can be found in the Find Games section.

When playing there are also live points updates during matches, another plus point that always appeals.

How Do I Start?

It is pretty straightforward. Simply register an account for free here. You are then able set up and join leagues.

Leagues can be open to a select group or to all. If you want to only include friends make sure you select the ‘invite only’ option when creating your league.

After joining a league you can then select your team and are taken automatically to the team selection tool and player list.

Fantasy Bet has set up a number of free games, which still offer cash prizes. A good starting point is Fantasy Bet’s Freeroll league.

The deadline to submit a team is also generous, and set 20 minutes before the fixture, so there is plenty of time to take in the teamsheets before your XI take to the turf.

Fantasy Bet, like many weekly Fantasy games, is a form of gambling so you have to be aged over 18 and over to play and, if you do wager some cash, please remember to gamble responsibly.

This is it. Massive opinion of himself, and aside from national performances has never solidified himself as a great club player after Basel. Talented, no doubt, but the hype is ludicrous.

Sparkie may do a job with him, I hope he does, but feck some of the prices being thrown about are mental.

I think Bojan had a brief spell where he was seen as brilliant at Barce. Shaqiri seems mainly hype and his Swiss World cup performances.

Bojan broke Messi's record in La Masia, had massive pressure on him to be a superstar and cracked (he was still in school while playing in CL semi finals...)

Polar opposite to Shaqiri in some regards, I agree with you.

I'd go for 7. Looking to get him in near enough straight away for Walcott next GW (and frees up some funds for Kun). Decent run of fixtures for Stoke too.

Why are people selling Walcott in the first place? They knew what the risk was...the only reason I'd consider selling him is because he might drop in price, which is practically the result of some knee jerking idiots.

But also a self-fulfilling logic. If people sell him, others will be more likely to do the same. You can't argue that someone is being illogical because the made a choice and now decide it was wrong. Perversely, it sounds like you are saying they were idiots to buy him.

          Yup agreed.

In terms of the captains poll I always change my reasons for choosing the captain. Sometimes I choose who I'm going for and other times it's who I think is best so I assume others do similar.

Hi guys, relatively new fantasy manager here, posted a couple of times when I was first drafting and you guys were helpful and I was hoping to get a bit of advice.

    My team is:

    Cech (Rudd)

    Azpi Cresswell Kompany (Williams) (Francis)

    Cazorla Silva Fabregas Cabaye (Wanyama)

    Deeney Giroud Rooney.

with 0 money left. next week is obviously a problem with 2 of my defenders and my two most expensive midfielders playing eachother. Is there anything you guys would suggest doing to reduce the impact that match will have? should I reduce how dependent on arsenal my team core is? and i'm confident of putting rooney at captain but if anyone has a reason why I shouldn't I could do with the advice haha.

    Thanks in advance..

(I just posted this like 10 minutes ago but I clicked reply instead of post comment. I don't want to talk about it haha)

no, big games have to provide points somewhere, nie team by the way.
Rooney hasnt scored at Villa for years but thats not to say he wont 🙂

thanks, it did pretty well. I had silva as my captain so got 64 points. wouldn't mind taking a hit on those to do multiple transfers. If I didn't captain rooney though im not sure who I would captain.. any suggestions?

Why are Citeh better than Ars'nal?

    Silva.

Why is Silva better than Ozil?

    Tempo.

Silva does everything Ozil does, but quicker. So important.

Ozil is just jumped on whenever he has a bad game , he's been pretty damn good all of 2015

I don't know why Ozil gets this . silva and all creative players have a bad game every now and then . I think it's because Ozil is not a goalscorer

If I was planning on doing Koscielny-->5.5m defender for GW3, I might as well do it this week instead no? Arsenal looked so poor defensively and I really like United's defence.

In a game where he had very little to do, Walters had the better of him.

Not dreadful, but shaky enough to put his starting position into question, imo.
