Once again, there was a minimal amount of new injuries over the weekend’s matches for Fantasy managers to fret over, with Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino playing down concerns after withdrawing Harry Kane and John Terry respectively. Steve McClaren is a manager with worries, however, with injuries in midfield, while his first choice right-back will miss their Gameweek 3 trip to Old Trafford through suspension.

Chelsea
Jose Mourinho denied John Terry picked up an injury in today’s loss at City after being subbed off at the break. Perhaps tellingly, this was the first time in Terry’s career under Mourinho that he had been replaced mid-match, with the Blues boss explaining:

“No [he was not injured], it was a decision I made. I know that Zouma is the fastest in the squad, and in that moment Manchester City were playing on the counter attack. Zouma is different than John, and my decision was proved right as Zouma was in complete control. I left him out because tactically we needed to make a change, and I was proven right as we controlled the game in the second half.”

Mourinho also stated post-match than Oscar, who missed the Etihad trip, remains a doubt for the Gameweek 3 trip to West Brom…

“Oscar’s injury isn’t a big one but it stops him from playing today and probably next week”

Leicester City
Back-up stopper Mark Schwarzer missed yesterday’s win at West Ham due to illness, the club’s official twitter feed confirmed.

Newcastle
Steve McClaren has concerns in midfield for the trip to United after Moussa Sissoko was withdrawn at the break against Swansea due to a groin problem. The Magpies boss also explained Siem de Jong’s weekend absence:

“We lost a big player in Moussa. We don’t know the seriousness of it yet…We think it (De Jong injury) is just a kick on the shin which flared up. He nearly made it (in time) but unfortunately didn’t (but) it should not be too bad.”

Sissoko has since tweeted on his injury, confirming an adductor problem.

Tottenham
Mauricio Pochettino played down his second-half withdrawal of Harry Kane in yesterday’s draw with Stoke. The Spurs boss confirmed Kane’s problem was no more than cramp, having started training a little late due to his Euro U21 exertions with England:

“Harry was very tired and had some cramps in his calf, so to take the risk with the score at 2-0, I didn’t think it was a problem to take him off. He came later in pre-season and it is normal. He is better but he needs time to arrive. We knew before the end of last season Harry Kane would play a lot and the consequences you can see now. This is the truth, at 2-0, after 65 minutes, I think it was enough for him. We don’t take risks with his body”.

Swansea
Garry Monk remains optimistic that Ki Sung-Yeung will return to action for next week’s trip to Sunderland. The Swans boss refused to take any chances with the South Korean at home to Newcastle, after he was forced off with a hamstring injury away to Chelsea last week:

“It wasn’t really [right] to take the risk with him. Of course he’s pushing to play, but I think we’ll give him that little bit more time. He’ll be back in training next week ready for the Sunderland game.”

Suspensions

Newcastle are set to be without Daryl Janmaat for the trip to United after the right-back received his marching order for picking up two yellow cards away to Swansea. Discussing his upcoming absence, the Dutchman – who was booked on both occasions for incidents involving Jefferson Montero – owned up to his Liberty folly:

“I’m very disappointed. It was stupid of me and I have to apologise to my team-mates, the supporters and everybody, because trying to win a game with ten men is very difficult. The first yellow card was clear. The second one, I lost the ball, he (Montero) ran past me and in a split-second I touched him. I pulled him back and that was stupid.”

West Ham are set to be without Adrian for the next three league matches after the Spaniard’s weekend dismissal at home to Leicester. Dismissed for serious foul play after an incident with Jamie Vardy, the Hammers keeper will miss clashes against Bournemouth, Liverpool and Newcastle before returning to action in Gameweek 6 away to Man City. Darren Randolph (4.5) is set to deputise in his absence.

Any Hazard owners worried should just go and look at his history. His weakest fantasy season still brought home 190 points. He will come good!

Yes but that same history says 1 goal, 5 assists in 3 years in games before October (and the goal and 4 of those assists were his first year)

Of course he will. But the thing is, he's not good value(pts/£) and unless you captain him 25%-33% of the time he's not worth it imo.

Agreed but he's always been a slow starter.

Couple that with Chelsea's not so good opening fixtures is the justification for leaving him out right now.

Took some advice on board a few pages back - here is my WC squad 2nd draft - still got 3 Foxes purely for the value.

    Fabby, McCarthy
    Darmian, Jenkinson, Richards, Huth, Yoshida
    Sanchez, Yaya, Ayew, Payet, Mahrez
    Aguero, Pelle, Vardy

    🙂

Open to the idea, but then I'd need a 4.5m full-time keeper. Not confident in any of 'em.

If Pulis doesn't sign a keeper (unfortunately he probably will) then get Myhill in. Best 4.5 option by a mile.

Sanchez - Hazard - Silva - Ayew (Wanyama)
    Agureo (Agbonlahor - Grabban)

Thoughts on my 2 ft's appreciated
    Ramsey out, Ayew in
    Coates out, Darmian in

    I'll probably wc next week.

    Mignolet (Hennessey)
    Kosc, Williams, Darmian (Huth, Francis)
    Hazard, Silva, Ayew. Mane, Mahrez
    Rooney, Sakho (C. Wilson)

I considered 1 of Aguero/Kompany this week but Everton away could be tough but I reckon it will be a very open attacking game. They will both be in gw4,
Why people are selling Hazard when he has WBA this week surprises me. Chelsea will pull finger sooner or later.
Lukaku has my attention & if he does well this week he'll be in my team gw4. From an attacking perspective imo his next 3 from gw4 (spurs VILLA swan) aren't that bad.

As long as Aguero gets at least the same points as Rooney this week il be happy. Can see Aguero scoring at Goodison, will be an open game and just look yesterday how many shots on target he had... Rooney against Spurs and Villa was nowhere.

Just tried making a team with Hazard, Sanchez, Yaya and Kun. Came up with this:

    4.5 - 4.0
    Williams - 5.0 - Richards - Huth - Souare/Francis
    Hazard - Sanchez - Yaya - Ayew - Mahrez
    Aguero - Diouf - Ighalo

For those of us who are not Wildcarding.. i think the only way to survive this price drop fest is to have faith in proven performers that are dropping and concentrate on getting rid of the rest..
    For eg. I have
Huth,Merte, Coates, Hazard and Rooney on the drops list..
The temptation to get rid of as many as possible is very strong.. BUT..

You have to expect Hazard to score points and Arsenal to keep CS's .. so even if they do fall this week they have a higher chance than the rest of rising again over the next few weeks.
Leicester have got 28 points of the last 33 available to them and are looking good under Ranieri.. so Huth should do ok(can imagine a lot of ppl jumping on a 4.4 huth in a few weeks saying he is value)

So my priorities out are Coates(who i have zero faith in!) and Rooney(Who hopefully bags a brace this week and keeps his price stable!) who i dont want as one of my premiums and i'm losing faith in

Basically, Players in your team are gonna drop this season.. there's no way to stop that from happening. Learn how to live with it without going insane

I have ran fewer droppers. Hazard will come good but I'm still planning to FT him to Sanchez if he blanks vs WBA.

Huth will get some CSs sooner or later. Just a huge swing to Gomez and Richards...

After doing Wally & Roo -> Mahrez & KUn (-4) today I'm left with

Kos PVA Haz Sinclair on the drop list. Mane & Pelle I'm giving a chance.

I think you have to drop Roo - he will fall and Kun will rise. This is from a guy who was very determined to keep Roo last week. You'll scramble everything to get the Argentine in GW4 anyway.

    Here is my wildcard team

    Schemical I McCarthy

    Kompany | Darmian | Gomez | Oxford | Richards

    Yaya | Ayew | Payet | Mahrez | Cabaye

    Ageuro | Benteke | Gomis

Still got 3.0m left in bank.
    1. Which other starting defender should I get?
    2. Should I upgrade to a better keeper?
    3. Should I upgrade Yaya to Silva for extra 1.5m?
    4. Sell Gomis (for Vardy/Deeney) and bring in Silva and Sanchez into midfield?

    Thanks all 🙂

Picking between Silva and Sanchez and Hazard + Ozil/Depay/Yaya/any 8.5 mid is such a thankless task. Literally tossing a coin.

      * Silva + Sanchez or Hazard + Ozil/Depay/Yaya/any 8.5 mid should I say.

    Wally / Sterling / Rooney / Benteke --> Ayew / Silva / Aguero / Diouf (-8).

    Was it worth it?

Sterling will drop and Silva will rise soon. That made me do the transfer..

I did it already but think it was probably too much... I wanted to do the exact same transfer that you suggested but was 0.2m short (Wally's drop + Ayew's rise)

I know it's a very 'all in' move...but is anyone thinking of getting both Silva and Toure?

With cedric spraying more crosses into the D box Pelle chances of scoring is more than Mane.
Since there are better mid options like Payet,Ayew are available.
So is it better to go with Pelle?

Looks nice but not so sure about doubling up on yaya and silva and not so soure about doubling up on united defense either, have you considered a city defender instead of darmian and replace yaya or silva for some other team's cover?

When I mean double united defense I mean GK and Defender. Sure they're doing good now but we also thought that arsenal and Chelsea would do well and see wee what that has lead us to.
