Tempted into dealing our Wildcards by yet another “mediocre” Gameweek, Granville and I go through almost the entire episode before Jonty reveals he’s weakened and gone “active”. It’s a revelation that almost has us both logging off and reaching for our own panic buttons.

Before that dramatic finale, we find salvation via another bout of “rough the smooth”, cheering ourselves with tales of Gameweek totals which dip below even our miserable tallies.

We also take a further round of community questions, forcing me to “fess up” on Theo Walcott, while Granville laments Wayne Rooney’s form and the three of us tackle the merits of Mahrez, Ozil and loading up on City assets.

This episode was originally broadcast live on Monday using Google Hangouts via our YouTube channel. Be sure to subscribe to our channel to get notifications of future live episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Wow Walcott fell 3 times this round. I don't remember that happening much.

I am surprised Gomis is getting so much love. He and Pelle are in the same category of wastefulness imo. Neither fill me with optimism.

In an odd way, Gomis doesn't get that many chances but Pelle gets loads. Gomis is definitely more clinical.

Have to disagree. They finished 8th last year, have strengthened in key positions, and don't have any European distractions. I think they offer some stellar fantasy assets

Not so sure, they were woeful at creating chances last season and definitely over performed their statistics. However Monk has taken this on board and brought in some attacking players and that should help turn around their poor offensive stats.

    I'm on a wc & I want defensive cs's for this gw.

    My current defence:
    McCathy (Butland)
    Kolorov, Shaw, Williams (Richards, Gomez)

I can see possible cs's for all my defence except Kolorov v Everton away & I see a possible cs for West Ham v Bournemouth at home.
    Would you
    (a) play Kolorov or
    (b) put in Cresswell or Ogbonna, Reid, Jenkinson (which is best) & then get Kolorov next week.

    Thanks.

Kolarov doesn't need a CS to score well. If you're obsessed with CS sell him. If you're obsessed with points, keep him.

    Ruddy (Myhill)
    Darmian, Kolarov, Gomez (Ward, Turner)
    Sanchez, Silva, Mane, Mahrez (Westwood)
    Gomis, Aguero, Sakho

    0.2 ITB.

Yep, GTG. Targett or Staylor, short term, you'll definitely get two games out of Targett, but long term I fancy Staylor to stake a claim in that Newcastle backline (somehow).

Go with Sanchez. A better performer and stats are looking on fire. Sanchez is the only certainty in the Arsenal mids. When Haz fires up you can upgrade Silva > Haz. If you are on WC ensure you can do the Haz upgrade with 2 FTs later.

      all the best.

Ozil instead of Cazorla IMO. Guarantee assists.

Richie instead of Ibe. He'll be benched once Firminio is up and running.

Cedric at 5.0 is a bit risky given the freaky display in defense for Soton.

I really like the 3-5-2 just because I am not that high on Gomis/swansea producing similar numbers every week. Or maybe because Gomis is in every single RMWCT...

Watmore IMHO is the only 4.5m striker we could go for with two 4.5m DEFs (as I think you said in one of your earlier posts).

Only difference for mine vs your lineup is I'm looking to squeeze Depay instead of Mane..tough one though.

Dead set on 3-5-2 or chance of switching back to more conventional/less scary lineups?

Let's talk about Kone. Super cheap, showing potential.

Yes, everton have a horrendous run of fixtures, but if anyone else is like me and trying to bring in the likes of Kun, Sanchez, and Silva/Yaya all into their team, he's an interesting 3rd striker option.

It is and I think he's slowly nailing down a striker spot. Seems to help their attacking structure a bit. Lukaku and Barkley are definitely benefiting.

Martinez believes Barklet and Lukaku are shining through Kone's endeavor.

Been thinking about getting Kolarov but after Everyon on Sunday , City play Watford at home.

This is a prime fixture for Clichy to start, and I suspect he will do

It's two matches in so there's no point in rotating, especially after two cleansheets (including the champs). Clichy has played 180 minutes since April and the break started with being frozen out for poor performances.

Exactly the reason he will start. With all due respect to Watford they will be considered an 'easy' fixture and an opportunity to give first team players a chance to gain fitness.

Clichy wasn't really frozen out, he was injured

I don't think a home grown player would be frozen out, it's pointless

and being 3+ points ahead of both their main title rivals it would be incredibly idiotic of Pellegrini to shake it up. I don't even expect Otamendi to start yet.

It's not shaking it up, it's giving players minutes against weaker opposition

      Depends on your budget

      Silva if you can afford

      Yaya if you can't

Silva leaves you closer to Hazard and still with the option of Yaya too...

if you can do hazard, sanchez and yaya, you should.

Think Watmore will be my punt...

BUT then I see Rubert X's post up top about the alternative candidate in Ighalo...

He's not a guaranteed starter, he shouldn't be in anyone's team.

Nothing wrong with 14 certain starters and one 4.0 def or 4.5 fwd to allow more investment imo.

Nah, can't pass up on the value offered by the cheap (5m) midfield options. And I actually prefer Gomis/Sakho to Ayew/Payet anyway.

Anyone followed the Soton match of yesterday?
Any idea on the performance of Mané and Pelle?

    Dilemma between the 2 options below;

    A) Pelle - Ayew (which I actually have)

    or

    B) Gomis - Mané

So last season the best scoring midfielders mostly had an average of between 1 and 2 shots in the box per game. It is unusual for midfielders to maintain a much higher average than 2 over a lot of games. Only Sanchez managed this last year. Very few high scoring mids averaged less than 1 though, so it seems to be a key stat.

I am thinking of monitoring these stats all season with special attention to those who average 2+ shots in the box per game over a period of 4-6 games. I may also relentlessly ditch midfielders who have averaged fewer than 1 for a while.

Anyone else rely on stats a lot? I never have done before. Doosra, I already know your answer haha.

    Good morning,

Have been out travelling, and have some questions I hope someone have the answer of 🙂

    1) Stoke defence. Until Shawcross is back, who is "nailed"?

    2) Watmore at SUN (£4.5). Can he see some game time and be a prospect?

    3) Naughton. Nailed?

    4) WBA defense. Any nailed 4.5's?

    Cheers!

      1) I've gone with Muniesa (see below), Cameron looks reasonable and Johnson is definitely nailed but 5.0

      2) If Defoe leaves could get more interesting but more likely he gets moved back into the middle than this guy. Watchlist

      3) Yes

      4) Only Pog and Olsson are 4.5 so it comes down to 2. Pog definitely isnt. Olsson isn't nailed but again watchlist

      2. He'll get some game time. ighalo at 5m is a much better option

      3. Think so but Williams is also £5m

      4. Nope, not even any nailed 5m defenders

Morning all. Anyone kind enough to look at my WC draft?

    Court, McCarthy

    Komp, Richards, Gomez, Muniesa, Targett

    Mahrez, Sanchez, Payet, Westwood, Yaya

    Aguero, Kane, Gomis

I'm sort of tempted by Yaya to Memphis or Mahrez to Ritchie
