Back from the Watford game. When i get around to wildcarding Saints assets will not be in my team whereas Anya will be a definete possibility. Excellent value for £4.5m as so much went through him.

Watford look pretty solid - not the strongest of attacks, but solid defensively and not completely toothless.

In need of some serious advise here chaps:

    Hart, McCarthy
    Cedric, Clyne, Richards, Muniesa, Williams
    Ritchie, Payet, Shaqiri, Albrighton, Mane
    Giroud, Augero, Benteke

    2.0 ITB

Main rival is in top 6k with 175 which is double my current score. Going to treat it as a challenge to try and make up those points from now till the end of the season.

Any transfer tips? Gone with punts because I knew I was already chasing, Problem is he also played wildcard and had got in Mahrez and Kolorov...

Firstly. Stop worrying or pannicking. It's GW3. Assuming you are a seasoned pro that's worth the difference come the end of the season. The worst thing you can do is start to play differentials to close the gap. It hardly ever works and should only be done From GW30 onwards.

For example not captaining aguero (or Benteke arguably) this weeken because you think your rival would is folly. Likewise not bringing in quality, value, players as rival has them.

Play your game and worry about point difference come March. I bet you'll be right in the hunt if not leading.

      • 13 Years

Plus he's already played his triple captain chip. Early chip players (bar wildcarders) strike me as a bit amateur (AOA may be an exception pending on a players team)

He has a solid team mind, just aim for one or 2 big differences, don't go crazy. He's got a lot in defence so maybe go budget and smash yours in top 8.

Thanks mate. I would love to have Kolarov, but now that Clichy is back, I worry that he's just not going to be guaranteed games. Pellegrini seemed to rotate them load's last year. What do you think? Do you have him in your team?

looks like variation on FFS template
I started with Rutland but have moved to butcart - cart will get dropped but ok for now
no chelsea is always a risk but that's what I;m on too at the mo
Wilson did great if your trying to get a knee jerk price rise
      I'm on Ag - Go - Diouf
Also I have yyt not silva - cash could be hard to justify

I know. Fully appreciate that it's a variation of the template, but I genuinely think that's the strongest squad I can pick in light of current form and upcoming fixtures. Might bring Kolarov in for Kompany and live a little.
I'be currently got Yaya but looking to switch to Silva on a wildcard as you can see. I really like them both but I just think that Silva will go on to pick up more points. Like the sound of your forward line! I think I might just save the extra million and go for Wilson over Diouf so I can bolster my defence. Who else is in your wildcard team?

Right fook it, decided to WC, RMWCT:

    Butlland McCarthy

    Cedric Morgan Sagna Muniesa Targett

    Hazard Sanchez Silva Mahrez Westwood

    Aguero Gomis Wilson

Sagna will change to Williams/Toby in a couple of weeks, don't like Muniesa, any 4.5 suggestions?

Kinda short term with Targett and Sagna (understandable) there.

Don't like doubling on Stoke defense personally. if you want cheap defender might aswell with attacking potential (Francis).

Midfield is a bit too expensive in my opinion. Also, at this rate City defense looks essential in the coming weeks. Sagna short term, Kompany + Hart long term. Kolorov if your feeling ok with threat of rotation and have cover for it.

Watching such a great player as Silva today makes you realise just how poor Rooney is as the "main man" at United. It makes you wonder if LVG needs to start thinking the unthinkable.

It also makes you realise what kind of player Mata could be

You could argue Mata contributes more in the final phase, but he doesn't have the overall influence of Silva

Him and Aguero are hands down the best players in the league for me. Rooney won't be dropped simply as there's nobody good enough to oust him. LVG has left it too late in the transfer window.

Really? why don't you have a compare Sturridge's stats with Aguero?. Then we can discuss this....

                  • 12 Years
                  10 years, 11 months ago

Well, Aguero has 151 goals in 226 appearances (0.57 goals per game). Sturridge has 59 goals in 151 appearances (0.4 goals per game).

Now, i suspect you may argue Sturridge has more sub appearances so lets look at goals per minute.

Aguero has played 16571 mins (126 mins per goal) and Sturridge has played 9090 mins (154 mins per goal).

Sturridge is a good player but i honestly think Aguero is a level above. I'd also argue Sturridges stats are skewed upwards by his time playing with Suarez who as one of the best forwards in the world created a crazy amount of chances for Sturridge. Not looking for an argument and was just an opinion 🙂

Aguero is a fantastic striker but he doesn't actually control the whole game like Silva does as a No10. The only other player capable of doing that in the prem is Cesc if played in his rightful position. Sadly Jose doesn't see it that way.

Their own fault for making it unthinkable. Every couple of seasons Rooney throws a hissy fit and gets a new bloated contract. They've never stood up to him, and now it is too late. He has no incentive to bother at all tbh.

I agree. it's a vastly overused term, especially in England. I'd say there are 4 world class players playing at present and they're all in la Liga.,

    Wildcarders:

    Decent keeper, 4m keeper
    Include 1x 4m defender in your 5.
Get a 4.5 mid, some of them will play but he's nearly always gonna be your sub.

Your bench then has about 17m worth on it, playing 3 defenders. Leaves you about 83m for your 11.

There is no point in having a 6.5m mid on your bench to play a 7m striker and vice versa the next week when you can maximise the 11 with a 4.5 mid.

    Good luck to all 🙂

...and when one of my defenders gets injured and the 4.0 isn't even on his team's bench leaving me with only 3 choices until one of them is dropped whilst another has City (a), where will you be? Going to give me 2 of your FTs so I can sort it out?

Team structure is important but I don't much like yours. 😕

    From Sky

To an imminent departure at Chelsea now, with Juventus confirming they will sign Juan Cuadrado on loan from Stamford Bridge.

The winger only joined the Premier League champions from Fiorentina in the winter window and Juve chief executive says the deal could be made official tomorrow.

Chelsea have yet to confirm this.

Triple (C) for Aguero vs. Watford perhaps? We are all saving the triple (C) for DGWs but at this stage we don't know who will play them. Would you triple (C) a player form a lowerr ranked team? Perhaps it would be beneficial to use the Triple (C) on a City game or CHE when they are in form?

Aguero Gomis Sakho - change 1

Take the 4 pt hit, if you need to, your team isn't in need of a WC. 3 of your 6 changes will be on the bench in any event... so just make the best two. Wait for a real disaster to hit like injuries, when you can't field 11 to use the WC

Looks like both kompany and yaya will double rise this week.

i have room for only one as I have kolarov and Aguero.

Silva rising slowly. So no rush to get him in.

Bank on Yaya or kompany for double rise?

People already likely to have a City defender and they normally don't spend transfers on defenders

Whereas I can see more people doing Hazard/ Payet/ Arsenal mid to Yaya

So, Yaya double rise for me
