We delve into the Gameweek 3 data this evening in our first members article of the week. Up front, we assess Bournemouth, Chelsea and Liverpool’s lone forwards, whilst there’s plenty to analyse in the centre of the park, as we take a look at some standout statistics from Villa, Palace, United, West Ham and Norwich.

    Guys,

I'm torn and I need advice. Last week i sought no advice and decided to keep Rooney ahead of Costa in my WC team, obviously an error.
Now I want to get rid of Rooney so I'm thinking Rooney/Ayew for Diouf and Pedro. Only problem is this will mean a 8 point hit. This is the only combination I'm happy with as it means I get a Chelsea attacker and I don't currently have one and Diouf has good games coming up.

My question is is it worth the 8 point hit? All advice welcome.

Obviously I'll do it after tomorrow nights game in case Rooney bags 5 or something, if I do do it at all.

If you're doing an 8 point hit after you WCed, you're doing something wrong. No, It's not worth the 8 point hit imo.

I think Ayew is worth keeping so ideally I'd like to see you sell someone else

My other mids are Yaya, Maharez, sanchez and westwood. The others I don't want to lose.

I don't mind the hits if it sets you up with the players you want going ahead.

I took -12 this week to correct a bad W/C.

Have activated my WC, and wondering if this is a good side?
Plan is to ship out Clyne for ARS defender, after LIV's good fixtures.

    Butland/Ruddy

    Clyne - Gomez - Kolarov - (Huth - 4.0)

    Sanchez - Pedro - Yaya - Mahrez - (4.5)

    Aguero - Benteke - Wilson

    0.5 ITB

Any help and suggestions are warmly welcomed:)

I just gave the benefit of the doubt to Prodl + Francis

        Prodl: 2/3 CS's, decent fixtures
        Francis: Attacking potential, great fixtures.

        Can't find any better 4.5's.

All it takes is 2 FT's to change formation. Not that much of a strife. I still have a theory that mid's are better value then strikers.

    So, Ryan...

Explain to me the current fetish for dumping good players and taking hits to do so?

It almost seems as if the solution to a low scoring GW is to give 4 or 8 of your few points away. 😕

I'm not too sure but I'm guessing people think they players they are bringing in are better than the ones they are selling. I do believe that some are going too far and doing a few too many sideways transfers.

Am I right in saying that if Shaqiri was a striker in FPL, he would be in more teams? People seem to prefer Gomis + 4.5 mid over Shaqiri + 4.5 striker when playing their WC's. The fear of playing 3-5-2...

    1. SUAREZ_MESSI_COUTINHO
      • 10 Years

No. Every decent player has seriously considered 3-5-2 . Its Gomis' points and stats that people are going for him, rather than Shaqiri or Ayew, (both could be very good),but Gomis hasn't disappointed so far.
Shsqiri as a striker would probably have less appeal.

      1. Puyol Pants Up

But 6-6-6 isn't amazing from Gomis. Fixtures getting tough. One assist from any mid and they outscore him.

Which defenders would you start from this lot?

      A) Targett (NOR) - pretty nailed on this week given the fixture and Berty being out
      B) Shaw (swa) - tricky fixture but United looking solid defensively
      C) Bellerin (new) - better fixture than Shaw, but no Kos is a worry
      D) Huth (bou) - average fixture, decent goal threat
      E) Coates (avl) - average fixture, team not looking great - probably my last choice

assuming that would be to accommodate quite a few DGW players but wouldnt it be tough to do that without playing your WC before that?

Not really, if you plan your transfers in advance. Thats what most people do when a DGW is annouced

Also at this moment in time, people don't really have 15 good players, so later on the season you should have a better squad.

You'll know the dgw weeks in advance. A few substitutions in the run up should be ok. Plus don't forget you still have 1 WC for the second half of the season. Remember by the tmie they come around the league will be a lot more settled so ergo your team will be too.

yeah thats true... but in the run up wouldnt you be getting in players for your main team? rather than bench players.... or would you be wildcarding right after?

But your bench should be players you'd be willing to play, if needed. So you'd expect them to get a few points.

Hello DZ, would appreciate your advice on this joke of a team and the transfer options below. Thanks!

      Pantilimon
      Kolarov Koscielny Cédric
      Hazard Özil Mahrez Chadli
      Sakho Agüero Pellè

      Subs: Rudd Targett Huth Bentaleb

      A) Ozil + Sakho > Silva + Wilson (-4)
      B) Chadli + Sakho > Yaya + Wilson (-4)
      C) Ozil > Yaya free
      D) Sakho > Wilson free

Or of course, save - play Targett/Huth if Sakho and Kosc are out.

        B. take the -4 this time.... Yaya has WAT cpl WHU tot NEW

Wilson has LEI nor SUN sto WAT (apart from watford the first 4 havent kept a clean sheet thus far)

Wilson cause hes on pens, one more double digit score and his price is gonna skyrocket which always helps with value

Will probably use my free on Sakho > Wilson. Is either of the following worth a hit this week keeping in mind the run of games to come? City have WAT cpl WHU in next 3.
