As always on a Friday, we focus our attentions on FantasyBet, as I continue my quest to turn my £100 pot into profit.

For those unfamiliar, the initial player prices and scoring system in Fantasy Bet are very similar to Fantasy Premier League, making it an accessible weekly and daily format for those who pay a lot of attention to the official game.

FantasyBet have introduced a smart new interface for finding games this week, including a handy tool tips column that offers additional info on various contests available.

After the international break, the new-look site kicks off with a £1000 guaranteed game for a £5.50 buy-in. There’s also the regular £100 and £50 free-rolls and an ‘end of week bargain’ game that covers the Sunday and Monday matches with a £75 guaranteed pot for a £1.10 entry fee.

I enjoyed playing the Flash freeroll last week in which you’re given three minutes to pick a team from a unique to each player ‘lucky list’. It’s fun being up against the clock and rewards knowledge of the fixtures, while it’s also an inherently fast way to enter a contest.

I’m quite happy with my Flash team this week – it includes Kevin de Bruyne alongside Yaya Toure and Aleksandar Kolarov from City. In defence I’ve got double Arsenal in Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin as well as West Ham assets Aaron Cresswell and Darren Randolph. Riyad Mahrez, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dimitri Payet complete the midfield, while Harry Kane claimed the lone frontman spot in a 4-5-1 formation. The team auto-completes at three minutes and auto-picked De Bruyne as captain so a strong debut would be helpful from the Belgian. Harry Kane was given the vice-captaincy if City’s new signing doesn’t play. It really is a race against the clock and I would advise selecting your captain early, though it’s not the worst differential to be handed.

The Bottom Line

After posting a profit up to £105.71 after Gameweek 3, I entered a couple of extra contests last week with a final stake of £7.70. A pair of small wins rescued part of those entry fees to leave me on £100.06, leaving me almost back at square one. I was a single point off the money in the Saturday double-up, so will continue playing them. There are lots of guaranteed pots this week so I’ve decided to utilise an even bigger chunk of the pot.

This Week’s Stake

Weekly – The overlay in the £1000 guaranteed pot
was too hard to resist so I’ve entered the ‘Grand Weekend’ game for £5.50. I’m also taking part in both £100 guaranteed games, the ‘Cheap Weekly’ game for £1.10 and the freeroll.

Daily – The Flash freeroll this week has a £50 guaranteed pot and misses out the early kick off on Saturday, allowing teams to be picked up to 3pm. I’m entering the Saturday double-up as usual for £3.30 and the ‘End of Week’ game for £1.10.

Weekly stake: £12.10
Current balance: £87.96

FFScout Picks League
I’ve created a £1.10 entry game in which I will enter our Scout Picks as closely as possible, given a 15-man squad is required. Just click here to go up against the Scouts Picks this week.
Last week Mark prevailed by a big margin, with his 61 points beating Siegel’s 48 points in second place – by comparison, the Scout Picks only managed 33 points.

    Almost back in business!

Was at a music festival weekend so no PL football was missed, lovely.

Only issue I have is capt choice... Palace can be tricky and tempted to go elsewhere other than Kun but probably bottle it.

Only a defender selection issue this week,

Kolarov, Shaw, Targett, Richards or Gomez.

At the minute I have - Kolarov, Shaw and Gomez but might swap Gomez for Richards

likewise, you can tart up statistics to show whatever you want...If you're asking specifically about this weekend, with Ward out and Watford likely to score their first home goal and get the win to go with it, I'd say Watford.

IDK. There are many superb Man City midfielders. I preferred Silva myself, but will not risk that prime slot being empty -- and what if he plays against Juve and hurts his ankle more? (not so unlikely). If he were clearly essential relative to a host of midfielders not like Yaya, Sterling, KDB, then it's a different story, but to me, it's a simple FT twist.

KDB is a FK specialist as well.

Kolarov to take the left sided ones.

And Aguero is not injured. 😛

        Were there really that many?
Not the best time but still worthwhile points wise.

      OK thoughts on this people...

      I currently have a front 8 of:
      Sanchez / Silva / Mahrez / Ayew / Surman
      Kun / Gomis / Diouf

Have 1 FT and 1.3 ITB.

My plan was to bench Diouf and Surman - hold Diouf for fixtures, and play 4-4-2 (happy enough with defence to do that). With the Silva news I was then going to do Surman -> Kouyate, and rotate in coming weeks.

BUT, I have no Chelsea cover, and just realised I can do Silva -> Hazard. Have Kolarov and Kun so whilst it's not 3 players Citeh are covered.

Hazard is due, and will fire at some point soon, I think.

      What do y'all think?

Myhill > Begovic is likely to be my no brainer transfer for the next gw.
