League leaders Man City have plenty to fret over this weekend, with Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Raheem Sterling all doubtful for Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Juventus. There’s worries in the red half of Manchester, too, after Wayne Rooney missed the 3-1 win over Liverpool with a hamstring complaint. Here’s our regular round-up of all the fresh arrivals onto the treatment table…

Crystal Palace

Damien Delaney is carrying a knock so was replaced by Brede Hangeland in the starting lineup against Manchester City, while Jason Puncheon was withdrawn at the 83-minute mark with a knock following a foul by Eliaquim Mangala.

Everton

Seamus Coleman and Muhamed Besic both sustained suspected hamstring injuries during Everton’s 3-1 win over Chelsea. Post-match, Roberto Martinez went on to say:

“We’ll have to assess Seamus and Mo and see how they are. But the important thing was that everyone who had to be alert and come on to the pitch was fully focused and I think the strength in the squad is starting to show now. Having those numbers helps you be consistent over the course of the season and clearly it showed today.”

Manchester City

Sergio Aguero was forced off at the 25-minute mark during Manchester City’s trip to Crystal Palace, having taken a strong blow to the knee from a crude challenge from Palace’s Scott Dann. Sky Blues boss Manuel Pellegrini implied that the Argentina international will be touch-and-go for their midweek Champions League tie against Juventus:

“It was an important kick on his knee. We’ll see if he can recover between now and Tuesday. It’s very difficult to say now. It’s important to see how he recovers. We’ll see.”

Aguero, meanwhile, took to Twitter last night to play down the seriousness of his withdrawal:

“Thanks everyone for your concern. I got a hard hit and it prevented me from playing more. It doesn’t seem to be a serious injury though.”

Earlier this evening, he gave another update on his condition:

“I had studies done today, to be completed tomorrow. We’ll have a clearer picture then”.

David Silva was ruled out of the Eagles clash by virtue of an ankle complaint, but Pellegrini is optimstic he’ll recover in time to face Juventus on Tuesday:

“Silva is out as I think it would be a risk for him to take another knock on his ankle. I hope he will be OK for Juventus.”

As for Raheem Sterling, the former Liverpool starlet is expected to shake of a minor hamstring injury:

“Raheem has a problem with his hamstring so I think it was a risk for him to play today. I hope he is 100% fit for Tuesday.”

Manchester United

Wayne Rooney was sidelined for the Red Devils’ 3-1 victory over Liverpool after suffering a hamstring problem in training. He is expected to miss their midweek tie against PSV Eindhoven, but Louis van Gaal believes he could be passed fit for their trip to Southampton next weekend:

“He is injured so we have to take care of him. I think he is very important for us and I don’t to take any risks so that’s why he doesn’t play today. I don’t think he will play against PSV Eindhoven, but maybe he shall play at Southampton. We have to wait and see if he can play against PSV because we still have three days to go.”

Stoke City

Jonathan Walters was not included in the Potters’ matchday squad at Arsenal due to a flare-up of his knee injury. Mark Hughes admitted that the Ireland international will undergo a scan in the coming days.

Tottenham

Nabil Bentaleb missed out against the Black Cats with an ankle injury and is expected to be ruled out for three to four weeks having suffered ligament damage.

Ryan Mason was involved in a heavy collision with Sunderland keeper Costel Pantilimon while he scored the winning goal. Mauricio Pochettino revealed after the match that Mason will undergo checks on Monday:

“We will assess Mason tomorrow. It was a big knock on the knee. It was a great goal and we showed how we try to play.”

West Bromwich Albion

Jonny Evans was taken off after 85 minutes against Southampton, although Tony Pulis later said that the new arrival likely just suffered cramping.

Shocking weekend. Yet it looks like i'm going to win all 3 of my h2h games. That is unless S Taylor doesn't get 9 points or Payet 7 or more.

Funny old season this season. But my h2h are the most important as they're cash, my OR is not at all, thankfully.

Have 2 FT's, but it seems my team might be in need of a WC now. Especially if Sterling isn't fit for the weekend. Coupled with my TV at 99.7m, if I don't WC, perhaps a hit is warranted.

    Ruuddy*
    Bellerin - Cedric - Gomez* - Huth* - Coates*
    Sanchez - Sterling* - Mané* - Mahrez - Bentaleb*
    Aguero - Benteke - *Sakho

That's a minimum of 8 changes I'd make with a WC. If not, I'd just hope Sterling is fit & Gomez plays, so I can put out an XI. Other option is one hit with Coates + Mané + Sakho to Kolarov + Ayew/Barkley + CWilson.

    WC worthy?

Any reason why you'd get rid of Gomez? Expect him to lose his place for the next two Home games or just don't fancy Liverpool DEF?

Definitely the former tbh, Pool have some solid defensive fixtures up ahead. It's his abysmal performance yesterday that worries me, seems he may finally be reprimanded imo.

No WC. Get Kolarov, sell Mane. Maybe a -4 is on the cards, don't panic on the WC. I think GW11/ 12ish is a good time to use it.

Monitor Sterling and Aguero. If either are deemed out for the weekend I'd probably pop the WC with that team. If not, I think you can afford to change Sakho and a defender with two frees and slowly move towards where you want to be.

    Backline is - Cedric / Huth / Azpi / Muniesa / Kolarov

I have 2FT. Is Cedric to Jonny Evans or Dawson the best move here?

I'd rather keep Cedric and shift Azpil. That said, with two frees, I'd seriously contemplate moving two defenders.

Surely Chelsea will come good soon enough, and they have some decent fixtures ahead. But yeah I should give it some thought as there are better options for his price out there

I can make a case for their defense w/ these fixtures, bu holding onto their offense isn't warranted imo. No form to speak of, & better, greener pastures elsewhere for those coveted spots tbh.

    Evening All,

So another disappointing week for me 42pts. Need some advice because I realised if stuck to my first drafted team from GW1 I would be 55pts ahead in my league but unfortunately I'm 75pts behind now.

The transfer I was gonna do this week before the Chelsea game kicked off was Kasper to Bego but the way Chelsea playing I really think its wise to hold off on Chelsea Defence and GK until they improve.

So I've come up with this move for GW6 Gomez > Kolarov Yaya> Coutinho -4 Only have right money to do it now before Kolorav goes up. Good move or bad one, As I don't wish to get rid of Aguero as I've already got Kompany. Sorry for long post.

Bad move. Aguero could be fit and Gomez could start and get a clean sheet in a plumb home game.

    begovic
    Kompany Shaw Clyne
    Hazard Touré Mahrez Ayew
    Wilson Lukaku Agüero

    subs -Schwarzer Gomez Gamboa Andreu

    To

    DDG Mccarthy
    Kolarov,shaw,dawson, nyom , steven taylor
    sanchez, silva, mahez, ayew Hollohan
    Wilson Gomis Aguero

want to avoid some seious price drops/rise especially hazard sanchez, think may as well do it now. Any help would be much appreciated thank you.

ooops sorry. Just Hazard to Sanchez then maybe. I wouldn't worry about the price rises too much, you've got lots of players who will keep going up already.

    Schmeichel - Schwarzer
    Koscielny - Kolarov - Cedric - Richards - Francis
    Silva - Pedro - Chadli - Mahrez - Westwood
    Aguero - Benteke - Gomis

    2 FTs, 0.4 ITB

Is Schmeichel -> Myhill a good move? Tired of constant 2pts from Schmeichel and it doesn't look like its gonna change in the near future.

Not sure what to do with 2nd transfer. Considering Chadli -> Shaqiri as i'd like to have some Stoke coverage for their next few fixtures. Diouf would be ideal, can't find a place for him though. I'd like to bring in Sanchez as well, don't have £ to do it in 1 transfer.

    Any suggestions much appreciated, thanks.

Good transfer for me. Gotta see what happens with Silva and Aguero injury news first, though. Haven't seen anyone concerned with having Stoke attacking coverage...but I do think Shaqiri is a way, way better pick than Chadli and I like that swap. Defense looks a little thin though at the third spot with Cedric having some bad fixtures and your 4th/5th not on teams that keep clean sheets.

I think Moreno should play vs Norwich and Villa at home. Need his atatcking threat and width from left back vs teams that will sit deep at Anfield. Vs West Ham Gomez offered nothing going forward and it hindered the attack badly.

Caught up with the old motd today and Mahrez was in proper beast mode. Could have had a handful of assists and a goal or two for the lols.

Crackin' young lad looks great every game!

Villa very poor on the ball themselves toward the end and didn't track Mahrez good enough who was key.
