Saturday’s tea-time kick-off finds a floundering Newcastle United outfit playing host to Chelsea at St James’ Park. The Magpies are yet to taste victory this term and will have their work cut out against a resurgent Blues side that bested Arsenal last time out.

The Toon’s most glaring deficiency this season has been a paucity of goal threat: the Tynesiders rank bottom of the pile for goals (three), attempts (50), shot on target (14) and big chances (three). Allied to this, only three teams have conceded more goals (nine) than Steve McClaren’s troops. On a more positive note, Newcastle will be clinging to memories of their hard-fought 0-0 draw away to Manchester United in Gameweek 3 as inspiration.

Chelsea are certainly not back to their best, but they showed real signs of improvement against the Gunners: only three sides conceded fewer shots inside the box (four) than the London club last Gameweek. Nonetheless, the Blues place joint-top – alongside Sunderland – for goals conceded in road matches (eight), underlining their struggles away from Stamford Bridge.

Robbed of Diego Costa through suspension, Jose Mourinho’s men will be charged up and seeking back-to-back wins as they bid to make up ground and fix their faltering title tilt.

For a forward, also rather Palace or Everton. Bournemouth ain't _that_ bad really.

I've just got back home and seen all the scores, looks like it's been madness today!

What are the top 3 things that've happened so far apart from City getting a little bit of a whoopin'?

    1. Les Bleus
      11 years, 29 days ago

      1. Sanchez finally exploded
      2. Martial ended up being a bit over hyped.
      3. Mahrez is human.

        1. Les Bleus
          11 years, 29 days ago

1 tap in, 1 header, 1 long range shot 🙂

      2. Frank Black
        11 years, 29 days ago

Overhyped? He wasn't assisted at all and he assisted players that are not capable of scoring.

        1. Les Bleus
          11 years, 29 days ago

True. He should have had two assists. But I was disappointed with his goal scoring opportunities today.

      3. Camp No No
        11 years, 29 days ago

Rather ManU continuing to be lacklustre but efficient. You shouldn't blame Martial for it.

    1. Swan - Villa Proud

If you have nothing else pressing and can get him in without tearing up your team, then yes. IMO, it's not worth multiple hits to get him in right now. Just have to take today on the chin and move on.

I need to take Williams out in order to get enough for Wilson --> Vardy. Who is the best max 4.7 defender I can get?

    a) Martin
    b) Nyom
    c) Other?

        1. Elijah's Wood

Definately not, i think his price is locked for a few days due to injury anyway

          1. MikeyBoro
            11 years, 29 days ago

Think Vardy is the best option or do I go Ighalo and then strengthen elsewhere? That's the 2 options I have rn

  23. WHY ALWAYS MESUT?
    11 years, 29 days ago

Despite captain Sanchez saving my Gameweek - have a whole host of problems in my team. Would appreciate ideas on how to deal with this.

    Myhill / McCarthy
    Kolarov / Gomez / Targett / Muniesa / Francis
    Sanchez / Walcott / KDB / Payet / Chadli
    Aguero / Wilson / Jerome

    1 FT, 0.3m ITB.

Gomez, Targett, Muniesa all didn't play this week. I have to take out one at the very least.

    Chadli didn't start. That's a bit worrying.

Wilson is injured, may have to do something there too.

What do you think? I think I need to take a hit... How much though?

    1. RÏɠBY
      11 years, 29 days ago

defender and wilson play the rest
at worst a defender won't play and it'll be like have a 2 goal deficit
