With injuries mounting up, our community writers were on hand to serve up a raft of options to replace ailing attackers, maligned midfielders and indisposed defenders. Our hot topic posters ponder just how to spend the riches made available through a certain Argentine striker’s dodgy hamstrings, while we also catch up on the latest Member tables as well as news from our community leagues.

The Community Articles

With Sergio Aguero out for a number of Gameweeks through injury the community was in the market for a new striker. Rodellegabomb was on hand with this stat heavy, Members only, article on potential replacements for the Manchester City striker as well as a follow up looking at some more leftfield options.  Later in the week he also took a look at some of the best statistics for three of the week’s key bandwagons.

The Sarjeant also offers up a prime candidate to come into our frontlines in his latest look at team form, while Your Mum’s Athletic’s Gameweek 9 What the Bookies Say article predicts goals galore on the south coast this weekend to offer further replacement options.

With many defenders struggling with injury or battling the spectre of rotation, Innsie’s assessment of baseline bonus points amongst goalkeepers, full backs and centrebacks proved a timely article for those looking to revamp their backlines.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

There were plenty more options for those looking to replace Aguero in our look at the fall out from his injury, while Balders has taken a look to see how Manchester City fare in front of goal with and without their key striker.

Meanwhile, having sold the premium priced Aguero, the community are feeling rather flushed. Here’s how some are looking to flash their newly found cash.

As with our community articles, our community discussions also looked at defender options, as the injury flags continue to flutter alarmingly at the back. Our look at which centre backs and full backs are riding high in the Fantasy points, bonus, fixtures, assists and goal charts offers up some more options to consider drafting in.

Amongst midfielders, Riyad Mahrez appears to be on borrowed time, after being left out of Leicester’s side against Norwich in Gameweek 8 for tactical reasons. Abel Xavier is one of a number of community members considering letting Mahrez go. Diva has also been looking closely at Leicester players and asked whether Mahrez owners who also own Jamie Vardy, as well as two Southampton attackers are worried about over exposure when the two sides meet this weekend.

The injuries were also mounting up over at Anfield, where new boss Jurgen Klopp’s has promised a more intense brand of football. Danny Ings is now sidelined for the rest of the season after sustaining knee ligament damage in training, while Joe Gomez is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after being injured while on international duty. For those wanting to know more about Klopp’s brand of football Jaffalicious was on hands with some of his most eye catching career statistics.

Elsewhere, Gargamel popped by with news of an update to his Gargatron tool, which gives Fantasy managers a revealing look at how their season has progressed so far.

Finally, it was Christina’s turn to hand out the cake as he celebrated his birthday this week.

The Members Tables

Danandandaman has taken a stab at predicting arguably the most unpredictable element of Fantasy Football, a goal from a defender. Greenwindmill’s latest table takes a look at tough defences who are forcing opposing teams to take long range pot shots, as well as soft touches who are inviting teams into their penalty box with alarming regularity.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

The qualification results and first round draw of BaldersAmerican style Community Grand Play Offs competition are now live. Balders also brought us news of plans to set up a new community tournament organisation.

The results from Gamweek 1 of Jarvish’s Blank Week Challenge, for those wanting to carry on scratching their Fantasy Football itch during the international break, have also been published. Moorinho is setting the pace so far, with Kingozil and Onside9 also doing well.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

All 3 pretty much same odds for a clean sheet this weekend as well! Tempted by Bertrand as he is nailed (Bellerin rotation with Bayern coming up).

This made me chuckle. That's why we love the game. 5 gameweeks ago I swore I wouldn't ever bring Theo back into my team whilst I still had all my faculties. Here I am bringing him in for a hit no less and playing a chip to accommodate him!!

I've purchased a few points yeah - maybe about 40-50 euros worth, possibly 60 at this point.

I've gotten most of my coins through trading though. Never purchased coins.

Ah okay yeah. I'm kinda new to FUT, and haven't really been playing too much lately, but how do you build such a good team mainly through trading?

I understand you would buy players low and sell for profit but surely it must take so many trades/time to get that many coins?

Totally know where you're coming from. I sometimes lean towards a certain transfer over another if a guy is going to be on and I can watch the game. And, it's great to have late players. If someone argued that it was silly, well, as long as they are good enough FPL prospects, then there's a ton of chance in it anyways. Might as well extend the fun in terms of watching your players play.

How long does it take for team value to update to price changes?

Not sure. I have 1 rise and 1 fall, so it stays the same and don't know if it's updated yet.

Check you never had a faller, that's happened to me a few times (cancelling out the riser)

My team value hasn't altered yet despite having a riser and no fallers.

This is my team after a -4 hit (Aguero & Silva to Pelle & KDB). Can I get away with playing just 11 bearing in my Zouma is no certainty & Richards will have to start. I'm thinking of taking another hit on my defence (Gomez to Monreal)

    Butland (McCarthy)
    Williams, Zouma, Richards (Kolorov, Gomez)
Sanchez (c), KDB, Payet, Mahrez, Redmond
    Pelle, Vardy (Diouf)

    (a) Stick or
    (b) Gomez to Monreal for a -8

    Thanks.

Out of interest, why Monreal over Bellerin?

I've read many comments about both. There's nothing between them but Monreal seems to have less rotation risk. Also Doosra has him.

OK i think i'm decided on bringing Mane in tomorrow morning. Question is for who, Westwood or Hoolahan? I'm going to be benching Hoolahan for Mane this week if i don't sell him, so should i just sell for Hoolahan rather than Westwood now and bank the extra cash?

Can't ever see there being a week where i wanna start Mane over Hoolahan in the future but good idea to have the better quality on the bench?

Ok, now I'm up to -12 for hits and I'm gonna effectively write off this GW and hope they serve me well over the subsequent 3 GW's.

My team with the AOA chip (I know, Gosling... but injuries decimated my squad):

    Bego
    Evans Alderwield
    Sanchez(vc) Gosling Mahrez Mane Bolasie
    Lukaku Sturridge Pelle(c)

    Subs: Targett Kolorov Richards

For sure. Gosling (whoever he is 😕 ) shouldn't get many more than Richards, not enough to warrant using the AOA chip.

How do people think the City game will go tomorrow?

Will City be their usually selves, or will they be a little slow and tentative and struggle to break Bournemouth down?

I suppose that is the main question to ask when wondering whether to captain KDB or not. How do you think City will do without their two best players?

I think they'll be fine with the likes of KDB out there.

They got hammered by spurs without silva, but they still managed 22 shots. Kbd is still class, he could be in the goals but he should get an assist
