Following on from Halloween, it’s time to revisit a horror show Gameweek from Granville.

Having gathered an array of green arrows in recent weeks, my ScoutCast co-host produced a pair of transfer howlers, watching on from behind the sofa as both Philippe Coutinho and Riyad Mahrez banged nails into his Gameweek coffin.

Jonty and I do our best to dwell on Granville’s misery for as long as possible, before attempting to cheer him up with similarly scary tales from the community in β€œRough with the Smooth”.

We then take on your questions, debating Leicester’s legs, United’s decline and whether we can actually tame the Fantasy Football troll that is Romelu Lukaku.

This episode of the ScoutCast was broadcast live on Tuesday evening (before the news on Hector Bellerin’s injury) via our YouTube channel.

You can catch the full un-edited version of this episode via the larger player below, or take in the β€œpolished” audio effort via this link or the smaller player.

You can get wind of future episodes by subscribing to our YouTube channel.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

No harm in fielding Bellerin right?
0 chance for a cameo, correct?

He will start if he is fine, otherwise why do you think Wenger wants to risk him?

A point for those deciding between playing AOA Chip this Gameweek or next:

-Will players really come back from the international break in peak form and fitness
-Many will be tired and jet lagged after playing abroad and so could be rested when they return
-We all know that lots of injuries usually take place during intl breaks so you may find yourself on a hit next week which is not favourable when playing this chip

So I personally think playing it this week is much safer and has a higher ceiling for points/less chance of going wrong.

Chelsea? come on Leicester will 100% score there. as well as most likely swansea everton and probaby pool too. The manchesters yeah but Leicester fked up united last year they could do it again.

The Chelsea match is still 5-6 weeks away, you never know what could happen. And this is not last year's United,Leicester will have to do well to score even 1 there. Swansea and Everton are doable.

its true but palace had a lot of chances last week, leicester would punish them if given the same chances.

Agreed - start of the season that would looked horrible run in terms of goal scoring chances, Man Utd, Swansea when Fab was top scoring keeper last year, chelsea and everton, but based on form Id say there is good goal potential against any/all of them.

I reckon i have to bring him straight in fast to afford the overall team i want, with him being 13.o i can afford what i intend to put together.

Hi guys need some help with my team.

    Myhill (Hennessey)
    Francis Cedric Bellerin (Dawson Mariappa)
    Payet KDB Sanchez Ozil (Drinkwater)
    Lukaku Pelle Vardy

So this is how my team looks right now, already used my FT to bring Lukaku in this week so no FT left. Looks like Bellerin won't play so that means Dawson will come off my bench for him if I leave things the way they are. My question is should I:
    a) leave it as it is and let Dawson sub in for Bellerin if he doesn't start
    b) do Dawson > Moreno for -4 and play him over Bellerin
    c) play AOA with Drinkwater and Bellerin/Cedric & Francis

Also best captain choice this week from KDB, Vardy & Sanchez? Appreciate any advice with this, really not sure what to do! πŸ™„

Cheers, I think option A is the best one too. Probably a waste to play AOA with Drinkwater, and I've got the armband on Vardy right now but KDB seems like the more sensible pick. Thanks for your reply

They're both showing good form - but I know what you mean. Out of the 3 Mata's just shown the least recently that's all. Trust your gut though - I had Lukaku (c) last week until the last minute and went with Mane due to FFS feedback!

I agree with what you're saying. Might be clutching at straws, but was hoping for a Mata goal, & maybe an assist aswell. I can see Leicester & Watford being 2-2, so Ighalo could be amongst the goals. Lukaku or Benteke imo will get a 1pter, it's just a matter of figuring out which.

Yes imo, no point in playing it now with the break coming up & Agüero still out. Unless your team is extremely dire & you can't put out an XI. Gw13-15 look good for the WC barring Agüero's injury being longer term.

Hi everyone, looking to settle my nerves a bit and get general opinion on my team, for this week and my proposed plans for the next few weeks.

    Current Team is:
Cech / Ruddy (just cant justify using transfer to remove him though he never plays)
    Bellerin / Kolarov / VVD / Dier / Prodl
    Mahrez / DBruyne / Sanchez / Payet / Wijnaldum
    Bony / Pelle / Vardy

Thinking of using AOA chip for this week, as Bellerin is likely out and dont fancy a tottenham cleanie against arsenal, and to be honest no idea who to bench from my attack after got burnt by Mahrez sitting there last week - Sound good to people?

Then thinking of swapping Bellerin > Ward and Bony > Giroud with 2FT after international break.

Longer term will be movign Kolarov out for Moreno/5m def and Sanchez -> Ozil (still dont feel good about this but need cash) to be able to do Pelle -> Aguero.

Does this sound good or am I missing some more obvious changes that need to happen sooner, leaving Prodl and Ruddy to ride the bench at the minute while i work on my starters and hope the s*** doesnt hit the fan.

I'd get rid of Kolarov before considering taking out Bellerin imo. He's arguably the best defnder right now, has great fixtures, is extrémely attacking & is under way less threat than Kolarov with Clichy in the midst. Bellerin's injury doesn't seem too serious & he still has the break to recover, unless Wenger states he's missing multiple GW's in his presser, then I don't see why you'd get rid tbh. Is it to afford Agüero?

Good week to use AoA for your team though, I agree.

(other defenders are Francis and Coleman)

Hmm it's tough, two FB's with decent-ish defensive fixtures, but have better attacking fixtures mo facing (NEW) & (whu). Though both their respective team's defenses have been pretty abysmal, so playing Pelle vs an even worse defense is probably the more sensible with the higher ceiling.

        AoA sounds good, IM.

Yes that qualifies as an idea in my book.

Would it qualify as a good one? Or would ya just play the Frenchman?

          I think it's a good one.

Pretty sure Im going for AOA, and Pelle is one of mine too, they did Sunderland over last year and Im hoping they will repeat the feat.

Not sure would start Francis over Kosc though, think it will be similar situation to Bellerin, if he doesnt start he just wont play, but if he does he has better chance of points than Francis does.

True, and I expect Southampton to win, but I think Mané is better suited to playing away at Sunderland than Pelle with his abysmal away form.

Kosc vs Francis is a tough one but yeah I see Kosc playin 0 or 90, not a cameo.

Still don't know about Kosc vs Pelle though.. Is the chip useful to hold onto?

I'm playing it this week, although Bellerin likely wont play! Sounds like a sensible idea to me!

Do you wish the premier league had more world class strikers?

Lukaku, Pelle, Giroud, Benteke, Kane, Sakho.

    Even Vardy. Vardy?!

Good players sure but wouldnt it be awesome to have Lewandowski at Liverpool or Zlatan at Spurs?

Martial, Lukaku, Aguero, Benteke could all improve over the next 3 years if they stay fit (Kun)

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be all that many world class players in the Premier league nowadays. There's maybe 4 or 5?

      I'd say there's

      Aguero
      Sanchez
      Hazard
      Ozil
      Silva

And then it's pretty thin on the ground. And, Bayern, Real Madrid and Barcelona all have around 5 world class players in their starting 11! It's crazy. Think a lot of Premier League clubs are now buying on potential rather than pedigree and experience.

I'd say there are only a handful of teams that have got better strikers than the ones in the PL, it is just they have a few of them each - but then look at the money they are throwing around for those players, and just the rougher ride they get in English league than they would in French/German/Spanish - not sure how many world class are in Italy at the moment, thats where we sending ones we dont want (Ballo/Jovetic/Dzeko/Gervinho)

not one person has even mentioned Diego Costa. Sure, he is my most hated player in the league and terribly out of form but there is no doubting his skill.

Im playing my AOA Chip this week and have 1 FT to optimise my defence, which combo is best?

A: Butland + Monreal (save transfer)
    B: Butland + Van Dijk
    C: De Gea + Monreal

(Would be dropping Muniesa for Van Dijk, Butland for DDG)

Personally I would go for A and save the FT so you have 2 to play with after the international break, and the build up to Aguero match fitness starts.

Sunderland are leaky at the moment but not bad attacking so no guarentee of a cleanie and DDG has got Wat/Lec/WHU next three after this week who are all on good form for a goal or two, so butland worth keeping for price difference. Add to the fact never know what will happen in a derby (especially north london one) and Monreal could come very good for you.

Switching between Sanchez and Kane, one, then the other, and back again (in regards to captaincy)
That Hot Topic + Home advantage were making me lean towards Alexis
However, Diva's well-writen and informative article has changed my mind to captain Kane.

    Thoughts?

    Mané(sun) Payet(EVE) Sanchez(TOT) De Bruyne (avl) Ayew(nor)
    Ighalo(lei) Pellé(sun) Vardy(WAT)

Thinking of benching ayew since he is not the inform player but sanchez has blanked in last 2 league games and didnt look good vs. bayern this week..
