We carry out our club-by-club scan of the treatment rooms, on the day that West Ham playmaker Dimitri Payet was ruled out for up to three months with an ankle injury sustained against Everton.

Elsewhere, Liverpool face an anxious wait for the full prognosis on Mamadou Sakho’s knee problem, whilst City are boosted by Sergio Aguero’s progress, as Wilfried Bony is left nursing his hamstring.

Arsenal

Santi Cazorla was replaced by Manuel Flamini at half time of the North London derby, in what initially looked like a tactical decision. Arsene Wenger revealed in his post-match press conference, however, that the Spanish playmaker was suffering from dizziness that affected his mobility:

“We suffered in the first half because Cazorla was at 30 per cent of his potential, he was dizzy. I was sitting there thinking do I take him off or not? You never know, maybe it will get better. At half-time I took him off, and in the second half we had a bit better balance. He is not sick, he was just dizzy and could not move, you could see that on the pitch. I did not really know what he had, so at half-time I took him off, I hope it is nothing bad, but it does not look like it, because he says he is alright now.â€

Bournemouth

Eddie Howe confirmed that Marc Pugh – who was withdraw after 45 minutes last Gameweek – was unavailable for selection after failing to shake off a knock.

Chelsea

The Blues defender Kurt Zouma has withdrawn from duties for the France Under 21 side due to an unspecified injury earlier today.

Crystal Palace

Eagles fitness coach John Salako has issued an update on Dwight Gayle, who missed the weekend win over Liverpool due to a hamstring injury:

“Dwight works very hard and, unfortunately, I think he’s got a Grade Two tear – he’s had the scan. He could face three-to-four weeks on the sidelines now. He is young so we’ll see, it could be two weeks, it could be (up to) four.”

Everton

Tyias Browning picked up a minor knee injury in training during the week, ruling him out for England U21’s match-up against Bosnia on Thursday. Toffees boss Roberto Martinez went on to say:

“We had a warm-up game on Wednesday and he picked up an injury in his knee. It is nothing serious but we’ll have to speak with England and manage that situation. I don’t think he’ll be available for the next game, but he could be available for the game against Switzerland in Brighton.â€

Fellow full-back Brendan Galloway is also being assessed ahead of England U21’s upcoming pair of matches. Earlier today, manager Gareth Southgate revealed:

“Brendan is being assessed now, he is with us. It’s a muscular injury but we don’t want to take any chances. Maybe he is okay for Thursday; maybe he is okay for Monday. We don’t know.â€

Liverpool

The Merseysiders were rocked earlier this evening after scans confirmed that Mamadou Sakho is set for a period on the sidelines after limping off early during the weekend loss to Palace. Liverpool expect to discover the likely period of absence tomorrow, with the Frenchman set to see a specialist.

Jordon Ibe has withdrawn from England U21 duties against Bosnia and Switzerland with a knee injury, The youngster suffered no more than bruising, though, and is expected to be available for the Gameweek 13 trip to City.

James Milner sat out Sunday’s defeat having suffered a hamstring injury in their Europa League clash against Rubin Kazan. After the Anfield loss, Jurgen Klopp played down the severity of the injury:

“In Kazan, he had not the best moment with his muscle. But he’s an experienced player, and it was nothing serious and in this moment he can train.â€

Manchester City

Wilfried Bony pulled up with a hamstring problem at Villa Park and had to be substituted at the 24-minute mark. Although Manuel Pellegrini doesn’t expect the Ivorian to play for his country during the international break, he did suggest that Bony could travel with the squad to get his injury assessed:

“It is difficult to know at this moment how serious his hamstring injury is. We will see tomorrow. I don’t know – maybe he will have to go and join up with Ivory Coast. His country must review the injury. But I don’t think he will be able to play and he will return to Manchester.â€

In more positive developments for the Sky Blues, Pellegrini reported that a quartet of injured players are progressing well in their rehabilitation, with Sergio Aguero targeting a return next Gamweek against Liverpool:

“I hope that this week he [Aguero], (David) Silva, (Samir) Nasri and (Pablo) Zabaleta, will work with the physiotherapist and next Monday they will start working with the squad. We will see in the way he improves this week, but I think there is a chance he can be (back for Liverpool).â€

Earlier today, Aguero took to twitter to confirm:

“Giving it my all on recovery work. There’s still more to go but getting better by the day!â€

Manchester United

Marouane Fellaini missed Manchester United’s 2-0 home win over West Bromwich Albion and will not travel with Belgium ahead of their back-to-back friendlies, given that he sustained an injury in training.

Norwich City

Nathan Redmond was sidelined for the Canaries’ win over Swansea and has withdrawn from international duty with the England U21s, having injured his thigh in midweek.

Newcastle United

In the wake of the Magpies’ 1-0 road victory against Bournemouth, stand-in shot-stopper Rob Elliot revealed that he played against the advice of the club’s doctors. The former Charlton keeper is nursing a thigh injury but is confident that a fortnight of rest will hold him in good stead when Leicester City pay a visit next Gameweek.

“If you ask the manager, I was always playing. If you ask the doctor, then I probably wasn’t playing last week either. I was always going to play, and I didn’t know how good or bad it was going to be. It wasn’t too bad today, it was quite painful and I just had to get underneath the ball and lift it, you just don’t want to let the team down. I said to the manager, if you want me to play I will play, but just so long as I’m not going to hinder the team. I’m going to go and see the specialist and hopefully get some good news off him. Get some treatment, get some strength, get some rest. Hopefully I’ll be ready for Leicester and hopefully (we can) start showing the team that we can be, rather than the team we could be.”

Sunderland

John O’Shea is carrying a hamstring injury and will be assessed by Sunderland’s medical team to determine his availability for Ireland’s Euro 2012 qualifying play-off:

“Rob Elliot, John O’Shea, Paul McShane, Alan Judge, and Shane Long will all be assessed by their respective clubs before reporting for international duty.â€

West Ham United

The Hammers have been dealt a major blow after Dimitri Payet was ruled out for around three months with an ankle injury sustained against Everton on Saturday. His replacement against the Toffees, Enner Valencia, was forced off with a similar complaint and will be assessed by a specialist early next week, the club’s official website has revealed.

Anyone saving Payet? I have a WC so I could just use it to get in Kun and ship Payet then.. Or would avoiding the drop in price be worth a transfer itself?

Why would you keep him? He's back sometime in February and will drop a lot until then. Wastes a midfield spot too. I see no reason for keeping him.

It would mean not spending 4 points to effectively upgrade my 2nd choice on the bench (after Ighalo), and then shipping him in 3 weeks time on my WC.

Oh I thought you were WC this week. Might be worth it to save him then if you have a decent playing XI coming week.

I think it's worth avoiding the price drop; if it affects his selling price for you

If that 0.3 makes a big difference to your WC team choices, ship him now.

I think you meant keep for this GW rather than indefinitely? If so, it depends on what his current selling price for you is. If you got him late and stand to lose out if he drops 0.3 this week, get rid. Ultimately, getting rid of him sooner than later would be preferable.

Pelle + Payet to Deulefeu + Lukaku (-4) good moves? Still leaves me with benching dilemma's but that should be gone in a couple of weeks when the inevitable downgrade to fund Aguero occurs.

I did Pelle to Lukaku for -4 earlier this week, not sure about Payet to Deulofeu..

Yeah does seem a real punt. Could just get in a Gosling/Surman but just seems such a dull move.

So who is everyone getting in for Payet? Interesting moment, this; plenty of options and it depends on how you're planning your team structure.

I can afford up to 8.0mil and still get aguero for pelle next week...

Thinking Ozil but then I'd have to downgrade KDB or Sanchez to fund Kun.

Bolasie and Deulofeu the main 2 im looking at for Payet.

Getting in Deulofeu would mean doubling up on Everton attack w/ Lukaku.

We should have a poll of the day, make the forthnight more interesting. Todsys poll of course should be; Payet to who?

I personally don't follow hot topics, also the arbitrary hulking can be annoying and misleading. I'd like something topical, bit like the way bbc sport do it.

Mane is very very frustrating to own. I missed every single point he brought in this season. Got him at the start and 2 GW ago. Eriksen will come for Mane

I've had him since GW1 so he's been good to me, but yes he is frustratingly inconsistent

Cool. Despite United horrid play Mata is still 6th highest scoring mid in the game. Their great looking fixtures coupled with LVG's admission that he needs to change their offensive play gives me confidence that we can begin to keep an eye on their attack. Mata would easily be the best player to have from their attack.

Would really appreciated advice on this.
    Butland, Schmeichel
    Moreno, Kolarov, Francis, Toby, Ward
    KDB, Alexis, Payet, Mahrez Westwood
    Martial, Pelle, Vardy

    2ft, 4.5m in account

    How about over 2 GW's for -4

    Schmeichel- Hennessey
    Payet- Ozil
    KDB- Silva
    Pelle-Aguero

I have just about enough for this barring rises/drops.. by 0.1m
Also, Id be backing Martial over Lukaku..
(If he is back up front think its ok)

    Thoughts please.
2/3 transfers this GW and 1/2 the following..

    REPOST
Current team: 1 FT, 1.1 itb

    Butland (Schmeicel)
    Cedric Kolarov Rojo (Francis,Saylor*)
    Mahrez Sanchez Mane Yaya (Payet*)
    Pelle Vardy Kane

    Thoughts?

A- Pelle > Lukaku (c) and bench Payet for next gameweek
B- Pelle > Lukaku + Payet > Delle Alli (funds for Aguero) for -4
    C- others?

No need to take a hit, you'll likely not lose too much value on Payet if you got him relatively early.

Yeah, you are +/- 40pt ahead of me and looks like you will storm into a comfortable top 1k. 👿 So would be stupid to take you on this year...

Not sure if you are into a good red ala Doos? If so I thought we could wager a good Saffer red for a good Kiwi red? Loser ships it over?

Not sure what the cost/logistics would be, but it's part of the fun.

                        Think about it.

City two home fixtures, although against tougher competition, still, own KDB and gonna swap Payet for Sterling. Then downgrade KDB to fund Aguero.

Although doubling Arsenal Sanchez with Ozil also appealing. This one very tough.

mmm, with Aguero in the picture yes prefer that as well.

Doubling up on Ozil/Sanchez makes more sense than City mids. Citys mids are a bit of a lottery as they will share the points. Ozil/Sanchez don't share the same points, meaning their points come from very different types of play.

I am leaning towards Willian for Payet. The player is in-form. Good fixtures. Chelsea will score in those games. Him taking all the set pieces makes it very attractive.

I was thinking Willian myself but felt with other options would be a bit on the foolish side. I think Willian will go on a bit of a run and Chelsea will pick up some points over the next month

One name that's being mostly ignored in the 5th mid talks: Robbie Brady

43 points and if I'm not mistaken he started the season at left back. I watched the highlights of Norwich v Swansea and he was really impressive and seems to take all set pieces as well? The one problem is fixtures until GW 18

If you could have Lukaku, Kane and Aguero up front without compromising too much elsewhere. Would you? To get that front three, I'd need to go KDB to Lanzini or someone in that region.

Everywhere else is really strong Arsenal, City, Spurs and United defence cover with Sanchez, Ozil and Mahrez in the midfield.

    1. Doosra - ☭DeclanMyGeniusâ…
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

I don't have De Bruyne. I will have Lanzini. But will Vardy outscore any of those three?

And will you have spent too much on forwards?

      1. Zareos
        • 11 Years
        10 years, 1 month ago

I think Vardy's run is going to end soon with those fixtures, but it is a worry if I went for a front three of heavy hitters. My thought process behind it is that I'm 80 points behind in my ML and teams will have one of Aguero, Lukaku and Kane. Having all three would have differential value.

That said, I'm in the early experimental days of my WC. Thanks for your input.

We can argue forever about Bench boost being best used in a DGW. But is the coming GW fixtures are good for the chip? Chelsea, S'ton, Palace, Everton have decent home games.

Wouldn't be the worst, but I'm still waiting for a DGW

DGW is not an ideal moment for BB, as it is almost impossible to have more than 11 DGW players.
To use it everybody should look for easy home fixtures of normally benched players.

    Thinking Stanislas and Souare.

What do you think is the best 8,7 combo for a defender and midfielder?

Stanislas is my man from this day forward. Watford defender is a good buy as well

Best nailed on 5.5m or below defender?

Already have Bellerin, Dier, Moreno and Simpson.

Bertrand (assuming you don't want to double up on any team)
