We carry out our club-by-club scan of the treatment rooms, on the day that West Ham playmaker Dimitri Payet was ruled out for up to three months with an ankle injury sustained against Everton.

Elsewhere, Liverpool face an anxious wait for the full prognosis on Mamadou Sakho’s knee problem, whilst City are boosted by Sergio Aguero’s progress, as Wilfried Bony is left nursing his hamstring.

Arsenal

Santi Cazorla was replaced by Manuel Flamini at half time of the North London derby, in what initially looked like a tactical decision. Arsene Wenger revealed in his post-match press conference, however, that the Spanish playmaker was suffering from dizziness that affected his mobility:

“We suffered in the first half because Cazorla was at 30 per cent of his potential, he was dizzy. I was sitting there thinking do I take him off or not? You never know, maybe it will get better. At half-time I took him off, and in the second half we had a bit better balance. He is not sick, he was just dizzy and could not move, you could see that on the pitch. I did not really know what he had, so at half-time I took him off, I hope it is nothing bad, but it does not look like it, because he says he is alright now.”

Bournemouth

Eddie Howe confirmed that Marc Pugh – who was withdraw after 45 minutes last Gameweek – was unavailable for selection after failing to shake off a knock.

Chelsea

The Blues defender Kurt Zouma has withdrawn from duties for the France Under 21 side due to an unspecified injury earlier today.

Crystal Palace

Eagles fitness coach John Salako has issued an update on Dwight Gayle, who missed the weekend win over Liverpool due to a hamstring injury:

“Dwight works very hard and, unfortunately, I think he’s got a Grade Two tear – he’s had the scan. He could face three-to-four weeks on the sidelines now. He is young so we’ll see, it could be two weeks, it could be (up to) four.”

Everton

Tyias Browning picked up a minor knee injury in training during the week, ruling him out for England U21’s match-up against Bosnia on Thursday. Toffees boss Roberto Martinez went on to say:

“We had a warm-up game on Wednesday and he picked up an injury in his knee. It is nothing serious but we’ll have to speak with England and manage that situation. I don’t think he’ll be available for the next game, but he could be available for the game against Switzerland in Brighton.”

Fellow full-back Brendan Galloway is also being assessed ahead of England U21’s upcoming pair of matches. Earlier today, manager Gareth Southgate revealed:

“Brendan is being assessed now, he is with us. It’s a muscular injury but we don’t want to take any chances. Maybe he is okay for Thursday; maybe he is okay for Monday. We don’t know.”

Liverpool

The Merseysiders were rocked earlier this evening after scans confirmed that Mamadou Sakho is set for a period on the sidelines after limping off early during the weekend loss to Palace. Liverpool expect to discover the likely period of absence tomorrow, with the Frenchman set to see a specialist.

Jordon Ibe has withdrawn from England U21 duties against Bosnia and Switzerland with a knee injury, The youngster suffered no more than bruising, though, and is expected to be available for the Gameweek 13 trip to City.

James Milner sat out Sunday’s defeat having suffered a hamstring injury in their Europa League clash against Rubin Kazan. After the Anfield loss, Jurgen Klopp played down the severity of the injury:

“In Kazan, he had not the best moment with his muscle. But he’s an experienced player, and it was nothing serious and in this moment he can train.”

Manchester City

Wilfried Bony pulled up with a hamstring problem at Villa Park and had to be substituted at the 24-minute mark. Although Manuel Pellegrini doesn’t expect the Ivorian to play for his country during the international break, he did suggest that Bony could travel with the squad to get his injury assessed:

“It is difficult to know at this moment how serious his hamstring injury is. We will see tomorrow. I don’t know – maybe he will have to go and join up with Ivory Coast. His country must review the injury. But I don’t think he will be able to play and he will return to Manchester.”

In more positive developments for the Sky Blues, Pellegrini reported that a quartet of injured players are progressing well in their rehabilitation, with Sergio Aguero targeting a return next Gamweek against Liverpool:

“I hope that this week he [Aguero], (David) Silva, (Samir) Nasri and (Pablo) Zabaleta, will work with the physiotherapist and next Monday they will start working with the squad. We will see in the way he improves this week, but I think there is a chance he can be (back for Liverpool).”

Earlier today, Aguero took to twitter to confirm:

“Giving it my all on recovery work. There’s still more to go but getting better by the day!”

Manchester United

Marouane Fellaini missed Manchester United’s 2-0 home win over West Bromwich Albion and will not travel with Belgium ahead of their back-to-back friendlies, given that he sustained an injury in training.

Norwich City

Nathan Redmond was sidelined for the Canaries’ win over Swansea and has withdrawn from international duty with the England U21s, having injured his thigh in midweek.

Newcastle United

In the wake of the Magpies’ 1-0 road victory against Bournemouth, stand-in shot-stopper Rob Elliot revealed that he played against the advice of the club’s doctors. The former Charlton keeper is nursing a thigh injury but is confident that a fortnight of rest will hold him in good stead when Leicester City pay a visit next Gameweek.

“If you ask the manager, I was always playing. If you ask the doctor, then I probably wasn’t playing last week either. I was always going to play, and I didn’t know how good or bad it was going to be. It wasn’t too bad today, it was quite painful and I just had to get underneath the ball and lift it, you just don’t want to let the team down. I said to the manager, if you want me to play I will play, but just so long as I’m not going to hinder the team. I’m going to go and see the specialist and hopefully get some good news off him. Get some treatment, get some strength, get some rest. Hopefully I’ll be ready for Leicester and hopefully (we can) start showing the team that we can be, rather than the team we could be.”

Sunderland

John O’Shea is carrying a hamstring injury and will be assessed by Sunderland’s medical team to determine his availability for Ireland’s Euro 2012 qualifying play-off:

“Rob Elliot, John O’Shea, Paul McShane, Alan Judge, and Shane Long will all be assessed by their respective clubs before reporting for international duty.”

West Ham United

The Hammers have been dealt a major blow after Dimitri Payet was ruled out for around three months with an ankle injury sustained against Everton on Saturday. His replacement against the Toffees, Enner Valencia, was forced off with a similar complaint and will be assessed by a specialist early next week, the club’s official website has revealed.

What you think which is better long term option.
    A) KDB+Vardy
    B) 7.0m mid+Kane

I think my forward GW14 could be Aguero, Lukaku, Vardy.
But if I want bring it on Kane. I must do Vardy+KBD -> Kane+7.0m mid.

Atm I like A. A is also easy to make. Only needs two tranfers. My Aguero plan is save FT this week. GW14 Pelle+Williams -> Aguero+Ake.

I have to apologise to all payet owners. I bought him 2 weeks ago, he blanked twice and then got injured. My bad guys, my bad...

0.6 ITB & already done Payet out for Ozil

    A) Martial out for Lukaku -4, have exact cash
    B) No hits, wait until internationals over, means no Lukaku though as his price will be up by then

Ouch, that's tough. If you had more money it would be an easy wait. I say wait as long as possible before his price rises (or Martial's drops) before making the move, just in case you hear something relevant, and then go for it.

Yes.. that is good advice. Wait as long as you can but buy Lukaku. He has 8 great fixtures and doesn't have to bother going on european games on thursdays

What you have to weigh up is the value of Lukaku over Martial in the mid-longer term (5+ weeks). I don't think you'd be up on the deal this week, but over 5 weeks? Probably.

Then again, it puts you in a scary spot - internationals could be a nightmare.

I don't expect players like Lukaku, KDB, Pelle, to play all games since they are friendlies. You never know though, aguero injury punished so many early transfer makers

Worth bringing Kane in for Pelle?

Pelle has a decent fixture vs Stoke but Kane has form.

Cabaye seems like a "flat track bully" looking at his points this season, so could be perfect for Palace's forthcoming run of plum fixtures!

Blanks have come against: Arsenal, Chelsea, Man C, Man U, Tottenham, Leicester, Liverpool, and Villa

Points have come against: Norwich, Watford, West Brom and West Ham.

So his 8 blanks have come against all of the current top 5, the defending champions, Liverpool and Villa (the anomaly!), while his 4 points hauls have come against 2 promoted clubs, a poor West Brom, and (admittedly) a fairly decent West Ham.

about 10 minutes to changes, let me ask you guys a question..here's my team

    McCarthy - Butland
Williams - Bellerin - Van Dijk - Richards - Kolarov
Mahrez - Sanchez - De Bruyne - Payet - Sinclair
    Pelle - Vardy - Lukaku

1 FT 4.0m in the bank

my gut is telling me that Southampton won't score vs Stoke and even if they do it won't be easy and certainly not with a header with ShawX back..obviously Payet is out long term and I need to sell but I just have no faith in Pelle getting points (especially away) and this week I could get Kane for him and could bench Payet and play a 4-back since Swansea have Bournemouth (even if the Swans are in shambles) and bench Payet and the Villa boys

    thoughts?

    bolasie/cabaye?

-bolasie's role more in front of goal, cabaye on set pieces(where palace is the best) including penalties (4 goals so far).
-attemptes 27(4 - all from the spot) - 22 (2 - from open play) in favour of cabaye
-palace usually score from set pieces
-bolasie scored hat-trick against sunderland last season
-both of them is hard and easy to ignore

I still don't believe a CB can be worth more than £6.5m Kudos to those who got him at least two weeks ago at £6.3m or cheaper.

          • 12 Years

I remember Terry was 6.3 when he went on that amazing run before New Years. Why don't you believe a CB can be worth that much? Surely throughout FPL history there's been numerous occasions when premium defenders proved their weight in gold, no?

Smalling is the only secure defender in United's back four imo (bar DDG), I can't see how Rojo won't be rotated with Jones come mid December.

            • 12 Years
            10 years, 8 months ago

10 goals in 191 hardly screams goal threat for Smalls, that's 2 a season which is kinda meh. Terry does have it historically though with 62 in 652 senior games (3.6 per season) but I just don't see the value in hoping a CB has an "out-there" season with 5 or 6 goals. Also I know Smalldini's BAPs are good but I think they're a bit over-rated in the scheme of things.

Basically unless its prime-time Baines it just makes more sense to take the cheapest way into a defence and upgrade elsewhere.

Okay, here's a dilemma. Should I WC this week or next. The only difference is these guys for this week.

Current team : Pelle Mane KdB Kolarov Cedric
WC team : Kane Ozil Coutinho Moreno Bellerin

On fixture, top wins. But all the players on WC is rising in price.
Also, if I wait for 1 GW, I might have better idea for Lukaku vs Kane vs Kun; Mahrez replacement; etc.

    Thoughts?

I did WC this week because I can easily manage my team through the international period and I planned it from the beginning GW 9 or GW 13. I was on time to catch Smalling price.

He is far from a good pick

Smalling is the ideal but very expensive. I expect Blind to rotate with Jones/Rojo fitting in at CB or LB.

The RB position will be Darmians following his return from suspension.

I think you need at least 2 from City, United, Arsenal and Spurs but no one team on there is necessarily a must.

    Given this some thought tonight.

Firstly can afford payet to drop once beofre having to make a move.

    GK De Gea, Mccarthy,
DEF Kolarov, Bellerin, Moreno, Azpi, Evans
MID KDB, Sanchez, Payet, Mahrez, Mane
    FWD Lukaku, Pelle, Vardy

Sitting just inside top 50k after 2 average weeks and its my midfield thats been annoyong me the most so this Payet injury gives me the kick up the backside to sort it out.

Ozil has been killing me of late, sanchez has only performed 4 games out of 12 points wise but I still just about want to keep him. Leicster have some nasty games on the way, and I don`t want to be carrying 2 of their attackers sooo.

Going to do Payet to Alli and Mahrez to Ozil this week.for no hit.
Next week I`m going to go for a -8, Azpi to Simpson (or any other playing 4 mil defender,), Pelle to Aguero and Mane to Lanzini (went on the set pieces once Payet went off)

Leaving me with a squad of

    GK De Gea, Mccarthy
DEF Kolarov, Bellerin, Moreno, Evans, Simpson
MID Lanzini, KDB, Alli, Sanchez, Ozil
    FWD Aguero, Lukaku, Vardy

The team itself looks good - something similar to what I'm looking at. But whilst planning possible strategies is a good idea, plans to take multiple hits rarely eventuate, and are often invalidated by price changes, injuries to other players etc.

So, if you're doing what I'm doing now and looking for routes to get all the players I want crammed into the same team, I'd try to come up with multiple different ways of doing it, since some are almost certain to backfire.

Lower ownership = more of a differential
More of a differential = better for owners
