Sergio Aguero steps up his recovery from a hamstring complaint. Vincent Kompany misses training for Belgium, Antonio Valencia is set for a period on the sidelines, whilst James Milner pulls out of the England squad due to hamstring trouble.

Aguero Targets Gameweek 13 Return

Sergio Aguero is recovering well from a hamstring injury he sustained during the last international break and is targeting a return when Manchester City host Liverpool next Gameweek. Discussing his fitness with the club’s official website, the Argentine marksman revealed:

“I don’t think I’m too far away now. Physically, I feel good and I’ve kept as fit as I can during my lay-off. I still need to work hard for another week and if not this week, then maybe next, I hope to start training with the rest of the lads and so and my target is Liverpool. I’ll take things slowly and not rush into anything, but I’m not far away.â€

The Scout Says: For many Fantasy managers, drafting Aguero back into their 15-man squads will be an essential exercise. Despite the fact that there are a number of mid-priced forwards enjoying purple patches, the City striker’s explosive potential – as evidenced by his five-goal haul against Newcastle prior to picking up the hamstring injury during the previous international break – is head and shoulders above any other armband option. With the likes of Jamie Vardy and Odion Ighalo offering budget-friendly options up front, many will be looking to free up cash as City prepare for a run of four home matches in the next six. Providing Aguero is passed fit, he’ll be difficult to ignore with a mere 10% ownership underlining his differential appeal.

Kompany Misses Belgium Training

Local reports indicate that Vincent Kompany missed Belgium’s first training session due to a minor calf problem yesterday.

The Scout Says: Bearing in mind that Kompany played for his country against the wishes of Manuel Pellegrini in the last batch of internationals, it remains to be seen whether yesterday’s omission was merely precautionary. The Belgian’s importance to City’s defensive prospects is laid bare by the statistics – the league leaders have conceded just one goal in eight matches with Kompany on board compared to eight goals against in four outings without him. With Gael Clichy back in contention and Pablo Zabaleta closing in on a return, Kompany remains the most secure route into the City rearguard as rotation looms large in the full-back berths, though any possible spell on the sidelines would undoubtedly dent our faith in their ability to serve up the shut-outs.

Morrison Hopeful of Return

James Morrison is hoping that the international break will allow him to fully recover from a knock that he’s been nursing since West Bromwich Albion’s road defeat to Crystal Palace in Gameweek 8. The Scottish midfielder admitted that he’s lacked sharpness since jarring his leg:

“It’s not right at the moment. I’m struggling to get it better – this break’s going to be crucial for me to get my body right. It’s been a funny one – I just planted my foot against Crystal Palace and something happened. I’m working hard and I can deal with it at the moment. But this break will be nice for me to get it right and get some fitness and sharpness back and continue my form from the start of the season.”

The Scout Says: Priced at 4.8, Morrison has already surpassed his attacking output from the previous campaign (two goals and one assist), with two goals and as many assists arriving in less than a third of the time (692 minutes compared to 2553). Although Morrison ranks top among the Baggies’ midfielders for attempts (12), shots on target (seven) and key passes (12), West Brom’s joint-worst attacking record (10 goals) and the presence of more alluring options at his price range (the likes of Manuel Lanzini, Delle Alli and Marc Albrighton) diminish his appeal on the Fantasy market.

Palace Strike Pair Step Up Fitness Drive

Alan Pardew is adamant that Marouane Chamakh and Connor Wickham will be given no time to rest during the international break as he strives to improve their fitness. The Palace boss asserted that his charges have done exceptionally to accrue 19 points without their two prime forwards:

“Marouane Chamakh and Connor Wickham need a pre-season really, or a mini pre-season, so that’s what they’re going to get. They will get no time off. They will play and train in this break solidly at the training ground to make sure when we come back against Sunderland and Newcastle, we have the option of those two guys. If you look at any Premier League team, if you take your top two strikers out of it, we’ve done terrific really. To have Connor and Marouane back, I do think my hand is going to be stronger.”

The Scout Says: Although the Eagles have fared pretty well in the absence of a physical presence up top, it’s fair to day that they’ve struggled to exert their influence in and around the penalty box. Prior to Sunday’s win at Liverpool – which marked Wickham’s return from injury off the bench – Palace had scored just four times in seven matches without a target man leading the line. Having been afforded a 26-minute run-out at Anfield, the 5.5-priced Wickham is poised to reclaim a starting berth and, as such, harbours differential potential ahead of back-to-back favourable home ties (SUN, NEW) and clashes against Everton, Stoke and Bournemouth in the upcoming six.

Valencia Sidelined with Foot Injury

Antonio Valencia underwent surgery for a foot injury he sustained in the Manchester derby. The Ecuador international took to Twitter to break the news:

“Thank God came out well from the operation. Now think about my recoveryâ€

The Scout Says: Valencia’s injury could be good news for Matteo Darmian’s prospects of nailing down the right-back berth once again. The 13%-owned Italian managed just two lots of 90 minutes in the six Gameweeks prior to last weekend’s win over West Brom, which he missed due to a one-match suspension, and he will be hoping to oust Ashley Young from Louis van Gaal’s first XI. Although United’s defence have conceded the fewest goals and notched the most clean sheets (both eight) in the first 12 Gameweeks, only Chris Smalling – at a price of 6.7 – looks immune from rotation. In saying that, Marcos Rojo has started the last four due to Luke Shaw’s long-term injury and, at a price of 5.5, could be another one to consider.

Cleverley looking to reclaim starting berth

Fit-again Tom Cleverley conceded that he faces a tall task trying to re-establish himself a regular starter for Everton. The ex-Manchester United recruit did, however, suggest that his versatility is an asset that Roberto Martinez could be keen to exploit:

“You always face a fight to get in the team at a club like Everton, especially with so many midfielders. So it is going to be tough getting back into the team and I knew that at the start of the season but I backed myself and, hopefully, when I played I helped the team get some good results. I was pleased with the way things had started here. I’d started all the games and sometimes settling in with a new team can be difficult but I didn’t feel that, it was easy. One of my qualities is my versatility, I can play central, I can play right or left and I’ve even played right-back this season. That’s one of my qualities and when I get asked to do a job, I can do it.â€

The Scout Says: Before succumbing to injury at White Hart Lane in Gameweek 4, Cleverley had been named in the Toffees’ starting XI for every league match. Since then, Arouna Kone (three goals and one assist in last two outings) and Gerard Deulofeu (one goal and six assists in six) have stamped their authority on the wide berths, meaning that Cleverley will be consigned to substitute duty for the time being as he steps up his match sharpness. Everton’s attacking contingent as a whole are experiencing an upsurge of interest in light of their excellent schedule through to the New Year (AVL, bou, CRY, nor, LEI, new, STO) and, whilst Cleverley’s return adds competition to the flanks, the 6.2-priced Deulofeu – with a goal and six assists in the last six – is shaping up as a viable contender to Ross Barkley as a route into the Toffees’ thriving midfield.

Milner Withdraws from England Duties

James Milner – who missed Liverpool’s home defeat to Crystal Palace by virtue of a hamstring strain – has pulled out of England’s squad prior to their pair of international friendlies.

The Scout Says: With a goal, three assists and a trio of bonus points in his previous five appearances, Milner had finally started to suggest he was worthy of our consideration. The arrival of Jurgen Klopp has given Philippe Coutinho a shot in the arm, though – the Brazilian has now served up back-to-back double-figure hauls, courtesy of three goals and six bonus points. Once their upcoming trip to City has passed, the Merseysiders’ following six fixtures (SWA, new, WBA, wat, LEI, sun) looks poised to pique our Fantasy interest, with Coutinho – at a price of 8.2 – looking their in-form option in the centre of the park.

Morrison for me. More nailed and last time I saw him fit, he linked up well with Berahino in the Everton game. I think he will tick over nicely.

Fantasy Football Scout daily hot topic

How do you dig yourself out of a hole.

Like many I've found myself in the position of having a truly terrible rank. I'm anticipating that the second half of the season chips, dgwks and natural wastage of more casual managers giving up will see some improvement.

But more needs to be done.

When you are languishing in the doldrums of the overall ranks how do you deal with it?

Do you take a few risks and search out differentials?

Do you play it safe, trust in your analysis and experience and go for the players with the best underlying stats?

Do you throw hits at the issue? Or keep calm and trust in your players?

      Apologies firstly Jonty

At this stage of the season, there is no need to panic, not taking hits is almost a differential in itself, you picked your players for a reason and statistically hits rarely pay off. Let others make the mistakes.

        No worries.

As said below I have a specific injury issue to deal with in Bony and Payet, but yep on the whole slowly slowly does it. I've certainly been in worst positions before and still finished top 10K.

For me specifically I have a double injury blow of Bony and Payet to deal with so may have to take a hit or two over the next two weeks to sort myself out.

But on the whole I advocate a policy of keeping hits to a minimum and trusting in the stats and getting players with the best fixtures and promise of points, especially if they are well owned. Hence Lukaku being my number one target. For me a low rank this is the worst time to take risks.

I've had a lot of above average weeks purely because i've had 3/4 clean sheets where others haven't. Most forward lines are fairly standard, or very slight deviants on the template. OK, occasionally you'll have the one player that scored a brace that no-one else had, but it's sometimes easier to find a pair of clean sheets that others have overlooked.

+42 I'm with you on this Doos, my defence at start of the season was abysmal. Since I've spent extra money on it having VVD Bellerin and Kolarov, my returns have rocketed. Having Butland has also helped 😉

I'm sorted there thankfully. Butland is a save machine. Moreno has fixtures and form, Bellerin should be back and Richards, Ward and Evans are bizarrely rotating fine currently - even if a little by real life rotation in Ward's case (Richards cleanie off the bench 🙂 )

For me I'm going back t a fifth midfielder. Lost around 20 pts over the last two weeks through benching the wrong player.

I went for the defensive policy as my rivals had weak defences in my opinion. Over the last 2 gameweeks I have scored 35 and 32 points just from 3 defenders each week. Not all hauls come from attackers.

      8. FredtheRed
        • 10 Years

I have to agree with EF - My attacking players are always my first priority. When playing a 3 at the back there is simply more viable point profit from attackers.

Plus it is so hard predicting a clean sheet - even WBA, one of the best defenses in the league - can let a goal slip through thus denying you points.

I always try to aim for a well-balanced team, but after a while it often turns out that my squad contains a number of weaknesses. I probably made a mistake this season in panicking and playing my wildcard in GW3 instead of waiting a little longer so as to have more info about the right changes to make.

The weaknesses might be in defence, in attack, or all over the place. So I wouldn't necessarily always start at the back or always start at the front. Instead I would start wherever I thought the squad could be most improved with the fewest number of transfers.

But my first eleven would always take priority over my bench.

A whole hot topic devoted to rescuing your season? Now THAT'S abuse of power 😉

Personally I'd do what you always do - your tactics are tried and tested, this has just been a strange season so far. Get the players you think will score the most and if your judgment is above average (it usually is based on past performance) then you'll soon gain traction.

That's my approach anyway, I'm too cowardly to try anything new!

You're right though, pivotal times coming up with Payet/Bony/Aguero causing disruption. I'm doing ok rankwise so I'd be more than happy to tread water and keep steady - slightly fearful of what the next few weeks have in store.

Oddly I prefer it now to last season when I was in the top 5k from GWK 8 onwards. All I did was move about 1000 places each week up and down. Became a bit boring, even when I took the odd risk it didn't do much.

This is much more of a challenge.

I can see that - there's a sense of freedom and opportunity in that position, in the top 10k the ambition is mostly to maintain rank. Still wouldn't swap though 😉

I'd like one season to get into that top 100 I must admit, even just for a week. Last two seasons I've got into the top 1,000 on occasions but never quite able to bridge that gap. Hats off to those that can. Takes some luck, but definitely a large degree of skill.

I think you've got to try and get ahead of the curve. Find the next Mahrez, Vardy or Payet.

Even though I was a Payet owner from GW2, I was fine with him getting injured as I feel that many opponent teams were looking too templatey and with Kun's return, these two factors will shake things up a bit.

      - Try and find the next player to explode before he does!
      - Keep trusting your gut instincts.
      - Don't be stubborn - i.e. "It's too late to get Vardy" when he was 6 or 7 games into his scoring run.
      - Try and plan in small four GW blocks. I started doing this last season and secured my first top 10k rank, I'm now OR 10,500 again using this strategy.

Ive gone from 12k to 88k in two weeks. This week i will be throwing Costa to the curb & bringing in Lukaku & slapping the band on him.
Next week will be hit time when I will almost certainly be looking to bring in Kun for Pelle & downgrade one of Ayew or Mane.

Like myself your defense is missing utd coverage. But cant see i can rectify that without multiple hits. Will need to keep my fingers crossed with what i've got.

I was around 800k after GW5, not terrible by any means, but not exactly great. All I did was have faith that, if I "played my own game", it would turn around. The only time I have ever started really following other people's moves, or making "differential" moves that I didn't have belief in, I started to plummet down the rankings. I did nothing stupid, these were my subsequent moves:

      GW6: Saved FT
GW7: Benteke and Silva to Martial and KDB
GW8: Mertesacker and Wilson to Dawson and Vardy
GW9: Aguero and Kolarov to Pelle and Bellerin
      GW10: Saved FT
GW11: Martial and Francis to Kane and VVD
      GW12: Huth to Smalling

There is absolutely nothing there that was a huge risk, nor was there any move - bar perhaps the Martial transfer - that wasn't rooted in a combination of what I thought sensible, and statistics/information. It's not exactly pulling up trees, but those moves have taken me from 800k to 13-14k in 7 weeks. I've also got a few 50/50 captain calls wrong recently - I could feasibly be top 5k if I'd got them correct.

Don't throw the baby out with the bath water. People on here are experienced, knowledgeable FPL players, and the longer the season goes on, the more data we have to work with. If you keep playing in a way that has brought you success before, it will work over the season.

        • 13 Years

Also, while I don't especially like taking hits, don't be averse to them. I've taken 2 in that spell, and both paid off. If a transfer seems worth a -4, make it, otherwise you'll end up with a load of dead wood in your team.

Thanks Jonty. I think when you're in a bit of a hole, the absolute worst thing to do is start making rash moves. I remember a couple of times this season - people buying Zouma and Sturridge spring to mind - when I warned that it was "out of the frying pan and into the fire". You want to get some certainty first, consistent players who you are sure will play and aren't huge risks. My list above: De Bruyne, Vardy, Dawson, Pelle, Kane, VVD, Smalling - players that won't suddenly be dropped, and players that will almost certainly get points over a few weeks. Just solidify your team at least, and things will start to fall into place.

agree, I also play "my own game", there was the time at the beginigng where I had over 50 pts loose to leader of my mini league and it didn't look good, but I have still played my game and now I'm the leader of thi league ( 8k in overal rank).
This portal giving us a lots of suggestions and this is cool, but everyone of us should play own game. Right now everyone talking about Ozil, and it's popular, but for excample I can see potential in Bolasie for incoming GWs.

Pretty much keep calm and trust in your players.
Years have shown that sooner or later 'the others' are going down.

I think that 1k is getting out of reach, but top 10k should very much happen and it's almost impossible to stay outside of top25k.

I had a horrific start to the season - dropped to the depths of 1.2m rank in GW7!

I basically used a mixture of FFS stats and intuition to get going:

      - Solid choices such as VVD in to shore up my defence
      - Ensuring I can play an xi but not taking a hit to sort out some players (e.g. I played Yoshida for a while knowing he'd only get me MAX 1 point per game)
      - I got very lucky when Aguero got injured; I was able to reconfigure to get my team a bit different to others', but not different enough to burn me
      - "Clever" choices like Mane vs. Chelsea
      - Differential BUT NOT ridiculous captain picks - Kane vs. Bournemouth rocketed me up the league 🙂

I started the season with a rank of 2.8. I stayed close to the 2mill mark up until GW 8. I just 1.3 million places to 700k.
I dropped to the 880k mark up until two weeks ago.
      Today, my rank is 318k.
It is not good as good as my previous seasons, but it shows improvement in scores at least.

I would advise going for a few smart differentials( such as Bertrand and Janmaat ), sticking with the in form players, and going for the sensible C choice such as Vardy C last week whilst many went for Mahrez.

Problem I'm having this season is using up the FT to fix injuries or dropped or out of form players.

Wanted a United and Arsenal defender 3 weeks ago but still don't have one!

This weeks FT already used up by Payet...

Feels like the only way to get my defence sorted is to spend hits... Grr

Then take the hit - the prices of the players you want will only rise and you miss out on points in the mean time. If hits are inevitable, take them early.

terrible? try coming back from a rank of 1.2 jonty! The top 10k is a pipedream for me this season.

That said, with the exception of the top 2 in my mini league (one of which has used ALL his chips) it's a pretty woeful standard. We have lots of seasoned players who have struggled massively this time. Our top 2k overall winner from last year has a rank of nearly 2m!

I still think the chips have skewed rank by about 20% and the first two game weeks (horrific for most) skewed them by a further 10-20%. I've had one poor week in 11 after the first two weeks but have still struggled to improve my rank. Getting six injuries in the last international break didn't help....

the key? Captain a differential and get very lucky...

The gamble is more who you're going to go without. There are so many performing players atm. I may have to forgo Lukaku as I prefer Aguero and Kane.

I think I'm just going to abuse my high TV and get a load of big hitters. Should have Aguero, Kane, Sanchez, KDB, and Ozil by GW14. With Kola and Moreno holding the back line, sprinkled with some Mahrez and Ighalo. Playing to strengths.

While I agree it's probably more sensible to wait a while, the attraction is his ownership - the first few Kun appearances after injury are the only time you can have him as a differential. If I feel like a punt, a low owned Aguero is certainly an opportunity...

    Mahrez (new)
    Sanchez (wba)
    Ozil (wba)
    Yaya (LIV)
    Tadic (STO)

I'm leaning towards Yaya. Tough game, no longer on pens if Aguero is back, and with Silva/Sterling/KDB all fit I can see him being moved back into the holding two.

You see, for some people football is just results: the wins, the goals scored and assisted. Everything is judged by that only. So the best player is the one who scores the most goals. Of course, what they miss is the game itself.

        I don't like that argument.

Neymar earnt the right to play in that front 3. He's succeeding where others like Alexis, Zlatan, Villa have failed. He's outshining even Henry and Etoo.

Zlatan didn't fail. He was outscoring Messi and the team did wonderfully, until he all of the sudden was pushed to flank and eventually to the bench. Whatever might have been the reason to that odd decision. 🙄

The bar is set very, very, very high for the front 3 at Barcelona.

If he really was brilliant, he wouldn't have been forced out after such a short time.

We don't give Suarez and Neymar enough credit to putting in the effort to adapt to the Barcelona of Lionel Messi.

Shows Zlatan isn't capable of adapting.

Okay, it seems you're a bit slow, so let me restate.

David Villa was brilliant BEFORE the INJURY. He only lost his place _after_ the injury.

When he joined he was at his career peak, 29-year-old and the best striker in the world. He broke his tibia after less than one and half seasons in the club, at 30 years of age, and only returned at age of 31, clearly never reaching his previous level again. It is what is called an career ending injury.

Between Zlatan and Suarez as CF's, what's interesting is that it is Messi who refused to adapt when Zlatan came in, but has accepted to adapt now. Zlatan was bought in the squad as a CF, with Messi in his more natural right flank support striker position, but once Zlatan scored more goals than Messi, he wanted to play CF. Which ruined Pep's plan of having his perfect attack with Zlatan upfront. Messi has clearly matured now, and has accepted to take exactly that RW position to let Suarez play CF, and even letting Neymar take the penalties despite insisting on taking them for ages despite sucking at penalties. Clearly messi has given up the idea that he must score the most goals, which allows the manager to put the other players better in the game. But this was not always the case.

Zlatan has for all his history well shown he's capable of adapting. But nobody is capable of performing top level in _any_ position, and Zlatan just can't make a great winger running up and down the pitch all the match, mostly because of his physic.

I don't like this argument of having earned the right either.

The point is if you put Hazard into that Barcelona team then you could see how he would get on. I for one would also expect him to score a lot of goals and register a lot of assists. I'm not saying he's better than Neymar by any stretch, but that's the point Ryan is making and it is a good one.

We can only judge what's happened. If that was the case we can stipulate what would happen if we put any talented forward in the Barcelona line up. They go after the very best.

And that's fair, I'm not arguing they don't go after the very best. But I think trying to compare one player currently playing for a floundering Chelsea side in the PL vs one player at a dominant, flourishing Barcelona side in LL isn't really going to go well. That's always the nature of these comparisons.

Again, in my view Neymar has been better than Hazard, but if Hazard happened to be at Barcelona maybe the difference wouldn't be as large as it is now (because of their very different circumstances).

If Hazard moves somewhere like Real, you might get a very good idea of how the two match up.

I think he's extremely talented, but he's not close to Neymar.

What he's achieved at 23 is unbelievable. I won't bring up Santos because people will say the league is joke, which by the way it isn't, it's extremely competitive.

But what he's done for Brazil is crazy. He's close to outscoring the number of goals Rooney has scored internationally already.

He has been immense, for club and country at such a young age.
I was devastated when I heard he was going to Barca.

However, I wouldn't be too quick to say he's doing better than Ibra or Villa.
Both of the above mentioned players came into the side and immediately had to fight with Messi for the right to be the focal point of the attack (both Villa and Ibra were ALWAYS the focal point in their careers, except for at Barca). Neymar doesn't have that problem, he's more of a natural winger.

I don't think the leagues in Brazil are jokes. However, he was a diving little urchin while playing for Santos, something which he seems to have improved on at Barcelona. For that, and his general adapting to the team, he deserves a lot of credit.

Completely agree with you. Unfortunately that is just the culture in a lot of latin countries, which talented players like Neymar just end up taking up.

He has improved a lot at Barcelona with regards to that. Players like Xavi and Iniesta gave him a lot of tough love from what I understand.

Sorry to wade in at quite a late stage, but just thought i'd stick my oar in..

At the moment, anyone saying that Hazard is a better player than Neymar is wrong.. Hazard is the main man at a club that is in complete turmoil and his output is appalling. Neymar is a vital cog in a fantastic Barca side (have you seen them play? It's not just his goalscoring/assisting that he's being judged on, he's f**king incredible both on and off the ball!)

At the moment, Neymar is the second best player in the world for certain. Hazard isn't even in the top 10!

    To fund Aguero...

    A) KDB to Tadic
    B) Sanchez to Mane

Remaining front 6: Ozil, Mahrez, Hoolahan ; Ighalo, Aguero, Kane

Essentially for the long term do you want 2 City or Arsenal attacking players?

You can blame a faltering start to the season on this, but not the first third. Chelsea played extremely well against Arsenal but haven't turned up against most other teams. Clearly the talent and fitness are there, just no desire to win.

And the fact that EVERY other player, bar Willian and Falcao, turned up unfit has no bearing?

Well well done to Willian and Falcao. Of course bad management in the workplace can sour everyone's productivity but it doesn't completely absolve him or others of responsibility. As much as I dislike Mou and think he should go, it can't be solely his fault. You just need to read Liverpool players interviews when talking about Suarez, he turned up and made everyone including the coaches work harder because he was so driven.

There is a point that what is required from the professional football players' looks like a very undemanding job. They really should take a lot of voluntary practice and that volunteering is usually a major reason behind some players developing and others stagnating.

imo Hazard holds all the cards in this situation, his previous 3 season prove his quality and there are many clubs who will pay out a lot to get him. His agent must be very happy with this situation.

But maybe he just wants to play for Chelsea, to have a manager who shows faith in him, and just to be able to just get on with his football. I'm possibly being naive, but it's nice to think that money isn't all that matters.

However, if it's football that matters the most, why would he be overly eager to stick to a team that plays such a dull brand of football? Surely a move to PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona or even Arsenal would sound exciting by now, just by the fact of giving him a chance to play more attack, with more players around him also creating so that he wouldn't be so darn isolated in the attack?

Maybe by now. But the fact is that he originally was in a situation where all big clubs wanted him and his only club of heart was Lille so he was practically making a career choice, picking the best club for him to continue his career in, and Chelsea indeed at the time looked like a good option, and it still looks like he made a good choice despite the recent events.

It will turn out something similar to the Sterling saga, where the talented player loses the good relationship with the manager because the wins have dried up and the agent starts whispering in his young ears because the agent sees the £££ signs.

If Mourinho stays in charge of Chelsea, Hazard will leave and will prosper wherever he goes.

Alright, here's my first main WC draft. Thoughts?

    Myhill, Hennessey
    Monreal, Rojo, VDV, Moreno, Simpson
    Sanchez, Ozil, Bolasie, Mahrez, Surman
    Vardy, Kane, Lukaku

6.1 ITB. Which gives me the flexibility to upgrade any one of my front three to Aguero.

    Cheers 🙂

Myhill picks up bonus whenever Brom get a CS. They have decent fixtures after the next few, which Hennessey covers perfectly.

Simpson is bench fodder, as is Surman...

And yes Bolasie is a bit of a punt. What else would you suggest for 6.2m?

You are both mistaken, and showing poor timing in the Myhill pick. Hennessy is just dreadful.

Look at Wijnaldum, Willian, Milner, etc.

Could you please explain why re: the goalkeepers?

As I said, Pulis will no doubt keep clean sheets and when he does, Myhill gets BAPS due to the defenders for Brom not liking clean sheets. What's wrong with Hennessey? He's 4m!

Hmm, those midfielders convince me less than Bolasie, but that's just a personal opinion I guess 🙂

I disagree fundamentally with your assessment of Pulis, Too many clean sheets away, as well. Foster about to return.

              Hennessey:

Well once Hennessey covers the next two, I'll be pretty much happy to play Myhill in every fixture, to pick up those away clean sheets as you mention. More than happy to spend a transfer in on Foster upon his return 🙂

Can I ask why you focus solely on saves when picking goalkeepers? Palace seemed to have tightened up and Hennessey covers Myhill's poor fixtures perfectly, and at 4m what more could you ask for, in my case?

Because, in my opinion the search for "clean sheets" is a chimera. So I look at the possible source of more locatable points, i.e. saves mainly, and bonus.

Yeah, as I said it allows me the flexibility to upgrade any one of my three strikers to Aguero instead of being trapped into only upgrading Kane.

There aren't many options in the mid price bracket that stand out (e.g. Mane's, Coutinho's etc.), which is all I could afford. Can't really stretch it out to Silva/KDB without having the ability to upgrade to Aguero

DDG over Myhill chews up funds 😕 Who do you suggest for Bolasie? The main reason I went for him is because there doesn't seem to be a standout option in the mid-price bracket (e.g. none of Mane/Coutinho/Tadic/Willian seem overly convincing).

Hmm, not sure on Mert's nailedness!

I actually really like it! Wish I could afford it!

I think I would prefer DDG in goals, if possible. Not a fan of Myhill on WC given poor fixtures + Foster's imminent return. Really think a double up of United at the back could be really profitable both in the short term and over the long haul.

I might just prefer Deulofeu over Bolasie, but I'm not 100% on that.
