Southampton’s Graziano Pelle is the most high profile of this week’s Suspension Tightrope protagonists after collecting a fifth yellow card of the campaign in yesterday’s home loss to Stoke.

The Italian will now miss next weekend’s trip to the Etihad and, although he will return in time for a plum home clash against Villa in Gameweek 15, it’s fair to say the exodus is picking up pace – over 120,000 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers have already parted company as we scramble to bring in the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Sergio Aguero.

Pelle earned a late caution for kicking the ball away as his barren run continued – he’s scored just once in the last five Gameweeks. Post-match, Ronaldo Koeman was unhappy over the Italian’s lack of self-restraint:

“It’s all about the frustration of the player. He was not playing well, he was not scoring and the team was not winning, but you have to control yourself always. That’s difficult, we know. But, okay, if it doesn’t happen today maybe it happens next week. It’s always a question if you are one booking from a suspension. It’s always when, when, when it happens. Okay, normally you have to control yourself. He knows. We know. We have to accept it and we will play another [number] nine next week.”

Pelle is one of six players to succumb to a one-match Tightrope ban so far. Liverpool will be devoid of Lucas’ services for their home encounter against Swansea next weekend. Swansea’s Jonjo Shelvey will also miss that Anfield encounter – handed the role in “the hole” at home to Bournemouth, the former Red bagged himself a goal and assist before earning his fifth yellow of the season.

Over at the Hawthorns, Tony Pulis has decisions to make at left-back after Chris Brunt picked up his fifth booking in the Baggies’ home win over Arsenal – the Northern Ireland international now misses next weekend’s trip to West Ham. Mark Noble will also be unavailable for that one after earning his fifth yellow in today’s loss at White Hart Lane, whilst Dele Alli will be absent as Spurs host Chelsea next weekend.

There are now 17 players on this week’s Tightrope, with Gameweek 13 handing us five new entries. Bournemouth playmaker Matt Ritchie, Leicester centre-half Robert Huth, Norwich’s Seb Bassong and Liverpool pair Emre Can and Nathaniel Clyne are the men in question.

Palace duo Wilfried Zaha and Yohan Cabaye, along with Sunderland’s Billy Jones, could yet topple of this week’s Tightrope – all three go into tomorrow’s night’s match at Slehurst Park on four yellows apiece.

In terms of newly-available players, Tottenham will welcome back Erik Lamela for next week’s trip to Stamford Bridge after the Argentine served a one-match ban at home to West Ham earlier today. West Brom will have Gareth McAuley available for their clash with the Hammers after the Irishman missed yesterday’s win over Arsenal.

Slaven Bilic’s side, meanwhile, will be without the services of James Collins once again – the Welshman serves the last of a three-match ban against the Baggies.

do it! Coutinho over Eriksen. Maybe Lingard over Gosling. And if you do Silva over KdB you can upgrade Wolls.

    A: Play Ayew (liv)
    B: Play Wijnaldum (cry)
    C: Wijnaldum ---> Barkley/Deulofeu and bench Ayew.

Some transfer thoughts I'd love some feedback on, after missing getting Martial out last week for -4.

    Vardy Martial Lukaku
    KdB Sanchez Özil Ayew Mahrez
    Francis Galloway Sagna Kolarov Moreno
    Butland Myhill

Thinking Martial to Ighalo and Ayew to Firmino, or Sagna to 4.4 (Ward, Simpson or Wolly) and Ayew to Firmino.....my priority I think should be Martial out,

    Thoughts?

Who else would play the 10?

I think the risk of playing time up front is between Benteke and Sturridge, with Benteke being a super sub.

Hmm I know he's the best fit but then why isn't he playing. Full games, I'm afraid klopp will have different tactics game to game and some will involve firminio and others wont

I'm sorry i'm gonna be quoting members stats on here but i'm absolutely sick of every conversation turning into a Josh King conversation..
Eden Hazardous i'm calling you out.
You told me to check Gosling vs King in the members section for the past 2 GWs and i did.. Gosling smashes him 77% and 5 key vs 23% and 3 key.. Gosling has more touches in the box(a surprisingly large total), has more goal attempts and the same no. of attempts in the box and has created more chances. He has more bap potential with better.. basically.. EVERYTHING bap related. Why exactly are you obsessed with King(who has just been poor for the past 3 years i've seen him too). Can you please stop this King election campaign cause i think your "source" is feeding you the wrong stats. You'll argue that King's shots on target are a little more.. well he has had cr@ppy shots on target and that has been the case his entire career(4 goals in 100 games i think).
Good Day to you.. Note: I apologise but i'm sick of just seeing King's named everywhere and you wrongly advising ppl to get him as a 4th mid

I compared Gosling, King, Surman and Stanlisas and ended up with the same conclusion as you, if it's any consolation. And I picked up Gosling as my fifth mid.

One of the key factors for me - not even stats related - is that the matches will be coming fast and furious in a month, and Gosling is so much more nailed on than King and Stanislas. That's when the eighth attacker comes into play.

Ah there you are.. listen.. The past 3 games where Bournemouth has done well has been cause Arter(Bournemouths best player by a mile!) has returned. That midfield 3 of Arter/Gosling/Surman have been so solid and creative and full of energy it's beautiful. King has benefitted from this but it does not mean Bouremouth are playing well BECAUSE of him.
Gosling looks an absolute gem imo playing in the hole due to Arter/Surman playing deep. Not saying King is a bad option(there are no bad options for a sub 5.0 8th mid) but please dont hijack my posts about Bournemouth is all i ask. I try to put out a rational analysis of a player based on the games i watch and it gets hijacked by King.

First of all Bournemouth are playing 4-4-1-1 with Gosling in the hole and King as striker

Second of all , Bournemouth's good performances started against the Saints in the second half when King came on and Arter was still injured

Third , Gosling is taking many shots but they are either being blocked/off target

Finally , it is my opinion that King is the best Bournemouth option and this is an open forum where everyone is allowed to express their opinions - You can make points in Gosling's favour and I can make points in King's favour

Your first point: you are arguing for arguments sake. i said Gosling is in the hole and Surman and ARter are in the pivot so not sure what you are arguing about 😆

Second: Arter started the game vs Saints 😆

Third: Gosling is taking those shots from inside the box and that is important

Finally: Yes.. everyone is entitled to their own opinions. But this forum has basically turned into a Josh King campaign

Re : Second - Even though Arter started , Bournemouth were abysmal in the first half when King was not playing

Also , ALL of King's shots are inside the box

However, do NOT dismiss Arter as the reason behind Bournemouth playing well. he is absolutely fantastic and Bournemouth have missed him dearly. K i give up.. this is the last time i get involved in this conversation. Enjoy King. let's move on to different topics next time i'm on k 😉 ... Once we step back and realise we've been debating Bournemouth mids we are gonna feel real stupid 😆

Wait.. i'm not banned? though i did think that comparisons were allowed as long as stats dont get involved.. and btw as someone who watches King/Bournemouth every week i got to say the minutes will always be skewed. King cant finish games.. always a risk of being subbed post 60 minutes cause he is done by then. so that should not factor. And Gosling has got a free role since Arter returned 3 weeks ago thus giving him fantastic stats(and that will continue to happen since Surman/Arter/Gosling are no the nailed midfield 3)

Don't you tell me that King doesn't have 6 shots on target over th last 3 while Gosling has just 2.....Gosling is taking many shots but they are either being blocked/off target

King has had a couple shots which have rolled into the keepers glove.. Gosling has had beautiful shots that have just gone wide off the post/over the bar. Again.. stats + watching games always better than pure stats. I dunno if the place you check stats has this facility but compare Gosling GW 11 to 13 and Gosling GW 8 to 10 to see Arter's effect on him.

I have never said that Gosling has not improved but even after Gosling's improvement , he is behind King in shooting stats

Also , " couple shots which have rolled into the keepers glove." - ask anyone who analyses stats - shot quality is subjective and not objective...

Sigh... King has been poor at shots throughout his career is my point. and ask anyone who analyses stats(and i am an engineer and got to use em literally every day) and they'll tell you making long term decisions on a small sample(2.5 games) is ridiculous

Im from Norway, and I have had an extra eye for King last couple of years. He is a good player, but he dont score goals. And I dont see him starting to score either. He wasn't even picked in the squad when Norway was playing EC-playoff. And Norway has a sh!t team..

King has only scored like 10 goals in his carrier for a senior team. In like 130 games. Thats very very bad. When he plays so many games up top its hard to understand why he dont score more goals..

I don't go by past performances , I go by present form and he is bang in form atm

You argue that his finishing is awful but his shot accuracy is awesome atm (SoT/Total Shots) - Also I am sure that he does not play striker for Norway , does he?

sometimes he play striker, other times he play on the left side, it depends really. But I know he is in great shape right now. He is a good player, he is quick and work really hard for the team, he also get many chancec. But like I said, he dont score goals. He never has, and I dont see that changing. He will score once in a while. Maybe every 10 matches, but that is not good enough.

But his shot accuracy has drastically improved - Howe is not a mad man that will play King over Murray if he does not think King has improved , he is 23 years old , and improving , what more do you need?

His numbers are best among all milfs after Coutinho in shooting stats

I need him to show that he can either score goals, or assist them. Ok, he scored this GW, but so did Skrtel (on a volley).
The upside is, as you are saying, he is young and improving, and he is firing away shots on target.

But I like to see him getting the ball inside the net a couple of times before I get exited.

I would rather see a player it a powerful shot just wide then hit a pea-roller at the keeper.

If he has so many Shots on Target, then he should have alot of goals. If he isn't scoring many with these shots, then the "shot on target" stat means absolutely nothing.

Scout Picks selection method should be improved....
How can they ignore Ayew vs Bournemouth, Ozil that has his best form or Barkley vs worst team in EPL?
How can they select Mane that has post-international rest issue, Sanchez that has under-performed issue or KDB that has decreasing stats vs Liverpool?
How can they choose Dier instead of Alderweireld, which is OOP but lack of attacking stats and bonus point?

    1. Puyol Pants Up

      lol

It could of easily gone the other way. Dier could of scored, Man City could of destroyed Liverpool. Barkley could of got nothing (like he did when Everton scored 6 goals) and not many people saw Ayew doing well....

Yeah, let's have it out at the time next week!

Mane is the one that's dreadful. Poor form, good chance of being benched (and lots said that at the time), tadic better form and on pens. Very odd selection.

I'd wait until news regarding Coutinho's scan results are confirmed , but I prefer him right now. If he's out, I'd go with Firmino. Liverpool have prime attacking fixtures & Klopp's press is coming to it's own. This coupled with a hopeful Henderson comeback should bolster their offense greatly. We have two great sources of goalscoring mids here who are more than capable of double digit hauls, what's not to like.

(SWA, new, WBA, wat, LEI, sun, whm) They then have two tough fixtures vs (ARS, MUN) & follow that up with (nor, lei, SUN, avl). In essence, they only face two of last years top 6 from now until Gw 26. There's alot of value to be had here & two great source of points in both their improved attack & marauding full-backs.

Just to put it out there, why get a Bournemouth mid?

Fixtures from now till the end of the Xmas rotation period as follows...

EVE, che, MUN, wba, CPL, ars, lei

I'd look elsewhere for a cheap mid, preferably one with strong fixtures over the busy Xmas period, this is the time you'll actually need your 5th mid.

It would be ideal to have as much cash itb. And the BOU mids are the only real cheap ones with a decent amount of goal threat.

But with that saying, they probably won't score many goals with those fixtures.

Those options seem a bit pricey, don't you think? You could save 1.0m from just getting someone like Gosling, Surman, Barry or Hazardous's mate.

Regarding Lingard: Strong goal threat and strong fixtures have to go hand in hand with strong possibility of minutes too Ryan 😉
                    Morrison looks good though.

Morrison is probably the best out of that lot in terms of value for money (remember, this is a 5th mid in a 3-4-3)

Lingard will probably get rotated during Xmas. Surely you would want someone nailed for that period?

like Lingard. Pretty good fixtures, and United has a lot of injured players, so I think its a good chance he will play. He also has proven himself in the last matches.

At sub 4.5 there is not much of a choice really.. the Bournemouth guys are the pick of the lot. that being said i do agree that spending just 0.5/0.8 more for the likes of Alli/Lanzini could we worth it

Keep in mind that in real life, Bournemouth should have a ticker that is completely red. Every game will be a challenge for them, even more so when they get exposed for their lack of depth when they start playing 3 games a week.

I personally don't think fixtures should be a consideration, it is impossible to predict when you'll need to rely on them, it could be for CPL (a good fixture) or it could be the following week (ars).
