Injuries are the last thing the community needs over the busy festive period, with Alexis Sanchez joining a growing list of players already scratched off their Christmas card lists. Our community writers and hot topic posters manoeuvre their way around the crocked and injured as they plan ahead for the impending fixture pile up, as well as deal with more pressing issues,  such as who to draft in to replace the injury hit Arsenal midfielder. Our members tables offer up some key names to consider and we also look back on a week of good news, from birthdays to romance and cash windfalls to community league success.

The Community Articles

Can Jamie Vardy’s incredible goal scoring run continue? YMA certainly thinks so in his latest look ahead to the weekend’s fixtures based on what the bookies say.

Leicester players are also covered in glory in The Sarjeant’s latest, colour-coded Gameweek preview, which also earned him a £20 Amazon voucher after the series was named the best community article in November in our monthly vote.

Foxes’ supporters are also amongst those in optimistic mood ahead of this weekend’s matches in Bolivian Seamen’s latest look at what the fans are saying.

In Bowstring the Carp’s review of November, Sunderland emerged as a surprising source of Fantasy points, while he predicts Liverpool’s assets are amongst those set to bring some Christmas cheer to Fantasy managers.

Sky Guru has also been getting some early Christmas planning in with this handy guide to captaincy strategy in the Sky game.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

Alexis Sanchez’s injury has opened up a wealth of options in midfield. Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino are amongst key contenders to replace him, according to our discussion on the Merseysiders’ good attacking form and kind fixture run. While Aaron Ramsey is another vying for attention, according to Andy85wsm’s look at how Arsenal, which have also been hit by an injury to Santi Cazorla, may line up this weekend.

To further complicate matters Daniel Sturridge also made a case for investment in attack following his brace in Liverpool’s midweek Capital One Cup rout of Southampton, which Zasa detailed after the final whistle.

Among the more risky replacements for Sanchez is Eden Hazard, who has mustered just one goal this season. The Red Devil is amongst those in the community to consider him a risk too far. However, Mark II’s latest look at Bournemouth’s lacklustre defence may give the Belgian international’s suitors cause for optimism.

Looking ahead to the busy festive fixture schedule Greenwindmill took a look at Christmases past to see how rotation affects each team.

Kings of Lyon has been planning even further ahead with the Capital One Cup ties this week narrowing down the options of teams set for a blank fixture in February, when the final takes place, and therefore a double Gameweek for the second half of the season. Jarvish was also on hand with a further update on key dates to remember next year when it comes to double Gameweek planning.

A key tactic as the season progresses is to keep a close eye on ownership and ensure that the high performing, popular Fantasy players are covered in your squads.Rodellegabomb’s look at ownership strategy shows how failing to captain the most popular players can be costly.

This week saw a cavalcade of congratulations as Mark celebrated his birthday and so too did Wakey’s son, who turned 18. When you read Wakey’s post on his son’s early medical history you’ll see just why this was such a special birthday for him.

MarkFLR also has reason to be cheerful. He has followed Wild Rover’s lead to become our community’s second monthly winner in Ultimate Fantasy Premier League this season. He pockets £1,000 as the monthly strategy in UFPL picks up pace.

Our resident romance experts can also give themselves a pat on the back. Their advice to YMA in response to his plea for advice on a first date attracted more than 100 responses back in September. This week YMA informed us that, thanks in some small part to the community’s wise words, he is still with the same lucky lady, and what’s more is moving in with her in the New Year.

With such a diverse range of issues discussed each week there is arguably no other community like Fantasy Football Scout’s. Jarvish’s popular post revealed how much of an impact the community has on our lives when our regular phrases start to creep into the wider world outside of Fantasy Football.

The Members Tables

Wakey’s latest table shows which players impressed most in Gameweek 14 in terms of goal threat, to give further inspiration for the coming Gameweek’s potential transfers.

Meanwhile, the teams with the worst defences going into Gameweek 15 are the focus of Arvin-ation’s latest table and my goal involvement table shows the players that could capitalise on these porous backlines.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

Tension is beginning to mount in the FFS UEFA Champions League, according to Jaffalicious’s latest update.

In TorresMagic‘s Last Man Standing competition, Recoba hit the top score in Gameweek 14 with 102. There are now 1300 teams qualified after 116 were eliminated when the safety score was set at 47.

Elsewhere, our live Hall of Fame update offers Members the chance to see who the best Fantasy managers of all time are after Gameweek 14’s matches.

It is all change at the top of Red Lightning’s Top 10K Any Season league, where Euan Thompson is the new leader. Currently none of this elite bunch are in the top 1,000, but nine are in the top 10,000.

It’s business as usual though in the FFScout moderators and contributors league where Andy continues to dominate, now with a commanding 67-point lead over second placed Greenwindmill.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Mahrez - Ozil - De Bruyne - Hazard
    Kane - Sturridge (c) - Lukaku (v)

more specific about what i'm asking? Just asking how do i look for this GW, captain choice imparticular.

Oxford would of been gotten rid of if more important players weren't injured, but there always will be higher priorities i suppose.

but im trying to figure out which player has the weakest opposition.. I hear Norwich is getting good so Ighalo probably wont get the armband. Luk has palace and I think that will be a tough game for him. Kane has WBA... we all know that could end 0-0 (probably will). Ozil doesn't have Sanchez. MANE is my favorite

it's not about Sanchez gettin as assist from Ozil. It's about Sanchez being the target man to defend. Now he is gone and Ozil is the new target man to defend. It will be much more difficult for Ozil with the less space he will have now

CRY and WBA are not an easy options for Kane and Lukaku, Ozil might get staying alone on the pitch without any decent support, plus midweek game in mind .... I go for D or E, because Mane is being shifted around too often and might not even start ...

How can anyone pick Sturridge with lots of confidence when he has Benteke and Firminho in competition for places (and often they may just play 1 up top). Seems prime to be rotated or on the wing.

4-3-3 Klopp usually runs out. Not on the wing per se, but playing left forward feeding Benteke opposed to being the main man.

Sturridge is a complete no 9.

As is Benteke. There in lies the problem.

Can envisage a Giroud/Walcott scenario happening for that top spot with Sturridge and Benteke being rotated quite a lot depending on whose in form and the opposition. Therefore he seems a wildly dangerous pick especially as he played midweek.

They won't play together much as Benteke is less useful. He can hold up the ball well but is less of a pure finisher.

Oh and don't sleep on BOU

          Gosling

Yet Chelsea have shut up shop considerably lately & kept away one of the best attacks in the league with ease, they've improved massively in the back lately & have the stats to show it. Away from home, Bournemouth really haven't done much to write home about. I doubt they'll find a way to score at the Bridge.

I concur that Chelsea have tighten up but I'm going to kindly disagree here.

BOU may be crap defensively but they are are top 6 across all offensive stats last 6GW in terms of goal attempts, shots in the box, chances created, crosses, header goal attempt etc etc

Aye no doubt their offense has improved, though like I said previously Spurs' attack was considerably more in-form prior to the match vs Chelsea,. Their offensive form has been a catalyst of facing poor defensive sides more than anything, imo. Last four (EVE, swa, NEW, sou), most of those offensive stats came from these last three, which subsequently are three of the leakiest sides this season.

Their record vs solid defensive sides are very poor, they've only scored twice in four game vs (liv, mci, TOT, sou). Jose has without a doubt looked at his backline as a harbinger for their resurgence, considering his record vs newly promoted sides, Courtois back in goal perhaps & Bournemouth's poor away form bar the blip vs Hammers where Wilson scored a hattie, I can't see Bournemouth being the team that penetrates Chelse's defense imo

All valid points culiao. I was very impressed by Chelsea's record vs promoted sides. I hope you are right and that they do manage to keep a CS (I'm playing Azpi) I just have a feeling BOU will be able to nick one.

They are very balanced going forward down the wings. Just a weak spine I'm afraid.

I've been very impressed with that left flank combo (Daniels/Stanislas), those boys can penetrate and obv we know about Francis/Ritchie.

Gotta bench one of Lord Aleks, Bellerin, Moreno and Darmian.

Has to be Darmian right due to there being a slight doubt over him starting? I'd be pissed if he came on for 1pt thats all. At least the others are nailed.

I think he'll start too, but not definite on it.

Can't bench Mahrez again, that has burned me before. Don't think it would be wise to bench Bellerin, Kolorov cold be on pens so it is either Moreno or Darmian I think. ARGH!

Darmian doesn't have much attacking threat, i'd start Moreno. I remember Mark saying Newcastle allow a lot of chances down Janmaat's side so he could get some joy.

Agreed. Just think that west ham game is a cleanie for Utd. But Darmian could get hooked as well if it's 0-0 at half time, just too risky. Think Darmian more likely to play away games. Just a hunch.
