With the FA Cup Third Round set to get underway later this evening, there’s been a raft of press conferences taking place over the last 24 hours. Here’s the main news coming out of the Premier League camps so far..

Phil Jagielka is set to start Everton’s clash with Dagenham and Redbridge as he steps up his recovery from injury. Seamus Coleman, Tom Cleverley and Romelu Lukaku are ruled out for the Toffees, though Roberto Martinez has confirmed the latter is reacting well to treatment after being forced off with an ankle knock against City in midweek.

Alexis Sanchez remains sidelined for Arsenal’s clash with Sunderland, Arsene Wenger has confirmed. The Chilean will also miss the midweek league trip to Liverpool but could be back in time for next weekend’s Gameweek 22 encounter with Stoke. Mikel Arteta is available to face the Black Cats, whilst Tomas Rosicky will return to full training next week.

Alan Hutton, Carlos Sanchez and Gabby Agbonlahor are all doubts for Villa’s clash with Wycombe tomorrow afternoon. Winger Adama Traore has been ruled out for eight-to-ten weeks with a broken bone in his foot.

Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren and Kolo Toure have all been ruled out of Liverpool’s encounter with Exeter tonight. Whilst Toure is expected back for the midweek visit of Arsenal, Lovren is likely to miss the next two league matches, whilst Coutinho is set to be sidelined for around three weeks, according to Jurgen Klopp. Jordon Ibe is also set to miss out after becoming the latest Liverpool player to sustain a hamstring injury.

Slaven Bilic has revealed that Manuel Lanzini is expected to be out “for two or three weeks” with the groin problem sustained against Liverpool. Winston Reid is back in full training for the Hammers, whilst Victor Moses is set to return to training after the weekend.

Yohan Cabaye returns from a one-match suspension for Palace’s clash with Southampton. Alan Pardew has talked up the fit-again Bakary Sako and revealed he also hopes to have Connor Wickham and Dwight Gayle available for the Gameweek 21 trip to Villa on Tuesday evening.

Graziano Pelle is set to miss Southampton’s cup clash with Palace, Ronald Koeman has confirmed. The Italian has a chance of making the midweek match against Watford, though, as he steps up his recovery from a knee problem. Victor Wanyama serves the first of a two-match ban this weekend, Cedric Soares is fit for selection once again and Sadio Mane will return to the starting XI after being dropped last week for disciplinary reasons. Koeman also revealed that Frazer Forster remains out this weekend – the keeper will be assessed after he plays for the reserves again on Monday before a decision is made over his first-team return.

Geoff Cameron is a doubt for Stoke’s match with Doncaster after picking up an ankle problem in training. Mark Hughes also has concerns over Phil Bardsley (groin) and Stephen Ireland (thigh).

Sam Allardyce has hinted at rotation ahead of Sunderland’s trip to the Emirates. Jack Rodwell, Younes Kaboul, Seb Larsson and Adam Matthews remain sidelined through injury for the Black Cats.

Quique Sanchez Flores has revealed he won’t make too many alterations for Watford’s showdown with Newcastle, though the Watford boss conceded it’s possible he will rest “at least one” of Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney.

Eddie Howe has revealed that Josh King was forced off with a niggle against Leicester last week and will continue to be monitored. The Bournemouth boss also confirmed his side are yet to receive a work permit for new boy Juan Iturbe.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

            A lot of sackings are!

Just couldn't see any of the big teams suddenly doing worse than they already are so just went for someone low down who might get sacked with a few games to go where they could still mathematically be saved. Boring pick really!

I'm interested in what people think about poor old Troy Deeney - is he being unfairly ignored?

I've had him for the last 9 gameweeks. I was getting rid of Pelle and thought Deeney had potential to come good considering his form last season and he was a fair whack cheaper than Ighalo.

Since then their scores have been:
    Ighalo: 2 5 6 13 7 10 12 5 2 = 62
    Deeney: 2 4 8 5 2 11 11 6 8 = 57

But despite them scoring pretty evenly and Ighalo being over £1m more expensive - people are still bringing him in massive quantities more than Deeney?

He is being overlooked. Do you think it is fairly or unfairly?

I see what you mean it's very tight between them. I've already got Ighalo, but if I were to have to choose between both now i'd probably go Deeney just because he takes penalties, but beware there's talk of one of them being rested!

There's too much free cash floating around and too many good fwd options right now, so Deeney loses to Ighalo.

maybe if you're buying now the price difference is a factor.

i see it as even with a penalty purple patch ighalo is still outscoring him. a lot of teams only get 4 penalties over a whole season, deeney had 4 in 7 games

Interesting, hadn't really thought of that.

Although Ighalo wins all the penalties so he's only gaining one point on him each time!

Very good cheap option and yes he's been overlooked.

I do think having Ighalo and Deeney might be a tad over the top though (had Iggy from the start).

And yes, he has been overlooked unfairly. A differential to Iggy, and cheaper too.

      Denny does take penalties.
Got Ighalo when he was priced at 5 and Deeney was 5.5, so I can't complain.

I def hope that Ighalo is rested for the FA Cup

not that I recall. More like a head down , "I can do this myself" type attitude, and more times than not feking it up.

Struggling to pick who to play out of Bellerin and Smalling for this GW, both serving up pros and cons.

But they do have attackers, and despite unimpressive return recently, am afraid that pool is capable of taking us on in midfield and scoring. Starting Smalling v new, Wolly v nor, and Dann v avl--can't see taking the risk on Kosc, despite my rooting interest.

So with Aguero looking to rise and me only having the exact funds to do a straight swap with Giroud, do I risk an injury? If Aguero does have a setback It would then cost me a -4 to get him out which is the same as I would need to do anyway if the costings change. The other option is Lukaku out, which gives me another few quid and a couple of days or I just leave it as a Giroud - Kane - Lukaku. What do you reckon you good people, any suggestions appreciated. Payet back might mean a bit more attacking play from WHU. I also think that WHU at home might invite Bournemouth to go for the win as well, and make the game more of an end-to-end contest, whereas an injury hit Liverpool and Arsenal away at Anfield might both be more cautious.

I done Vardy to ighalo because I've had Aguero twice already and he's let me down... I want to see consistency first

As long as Dembele back for LEI I'm happy to keep Kane

got myself in a defensive nightmare for this week that will be fixed next week..

Who would you play... Jones against swansea or Smith against hammers?

sagna has more points than kolarov. genuinely angry at that, especially as sagna was only 5.0

I'm not sure what's happening there, is he ahead of zab now or is his prolonged run in the team due to injuries?

bit of both i think. zabaleta will ned to be 100% to challenge him but hasn't been able to reach that level all season. without the 2nd injury zabaleta would have surely stolen a couple more starts off sagna

I would imagine a fully fit Zabaleta starts ahead of Sagna, City defence isn't exactly performing well anyway.

sagna is too mainstream a name for our esoteric sensibilities

Really tempted to use my wildcard for the following:

    Out
    Lukaku, vvd, vardy

    In
    Aguero, ighalo, azpil

why not just do it over 2 weeks and take a -4? seems silly to spend the WC on three transfers

You're tempted to use your WC over a -8!? Not that I'd make those moves regardless.
