This article delves into the fans’ forums to see what they are saying about the forthcoming matches to give that terrace eye perspective. Here’s the latest, looking at fans’ predictions ahead of Gameweek 21.

Fans Predictions

  • The Aston Villa fans think the crowd will be very hostile to their own team. The fans have turned and there is a small talk of a boycott. They recognise it’s the worst home side versus the best away side and think Crystal Palace will get the win.
  • Crystal Palace fans are worried by their underperformance in games they should win, however, they do think they have enough firepower especially on the wings to win this game. They wouldn’t be surprised by a draw though with key players such as Yannick Bolasie out through injury.
  • Bournemouth fans are happy they’ve only lost once in their last nine games. They are also delighted by the signing of striker Benik Afobe. They have predicted all types of results for this game from high score draws to low scoring losses, so you’re guess is as good as mine. Afobe may not start though is the feeling amongst some fans.
  • West Ham fans are looking forward to their trip to Bournemouth, I think it’s mainly because they have most of their players back and are optimistic they can grab a 2-1 win.
  • Newcastle are also optimistic, although judging by recent form they have little to cheer about. Manchester United’s lack of goal threat is central to their buoyant mood and would love it if they could snatch a draw, or possibly a low scoring win, against the Red Devils.
  • Man United fans think it will be a horrible game in which they’ll have 70% of the possession and Newcastle will win. Some are going for a 0-0 draw as an indication of how poorly Manchester United fans see their team.
  • Chelsea think they can beat West Brom if Diego Costa is fit, but don’t like idea of a false 9 if he isn’t.
  • West Brom fans can only see a home win for Chelsea unfortunately. The best they can hope for is a 0-0.
  • Man City  supporters are hoping for the same team that played Everton in the Capital One Cup semi-final last week. They fear Romelu Lukaku especially against Martín Demichelis. City have pace down the wings, which should stop the Everton fullbacks pushing up is another popular prediction. They are also happy to leave out David Silva or Yaya Toure for this game.
  • Everton fans fully expect to lose against Man City. They’d like a different team to the one that Roberto Martinez put out in the FA cup at the weekend and should be satisfied by the likely return of John Stones and Tom Cleverley. He may not be the world’s best goal scorer but some Toffees’ fans are scared of the pace of Jesus Navas, who played well when he came on in the Capital One Cup semi-final.
  • Southampton fans think their game against Watford will be a low-scoring affair. It could go either way, and they are particularly fearful of Watford’s strikers, Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo. But they are hoping to have their injury-hit striker Graziano Pelle back for this physical encounter.
  • Watford fans have a feeling it will be a 1-1 draw.
  • Stoke fans complain that they struggle in the so-called ‘easy’ fixtures and aren’t looking forward to playing Norwich. It’s a bogey game for sure and one, which they think will be a low scoring encounter.
  • Norwich fans are not commenting too much on the Stoke game. Instead they are in shock at  Bournemouth’s recent purchase of Benik Afobe for £12m and wondering how they can compete financially with one of their key relegation rivals.
  • Swansea fans were very unhappy that their second string team was left humiliated in the FA Cup, where they were knocked out by League 2 side Oxford.  Such is their malaise that they think they will lose against Sunderland.
  • Sunderland  have a new centre back Jan Kirchhoff, but many fans think he will start from the bench for the Swansea match. They have high hopes though that he can recharge their flagging defence in the long term though.
  • Liverpool fans predict their team will lose against Arsenal, mainly because of their injuries. However, many first teamers have now had around a week’s rest, which gives some optimism they can keep the Gunners at bay.
  • Arsenal fans think this is a big test. They are optimistc their side will win due to the injuries of Liverpool but are wary of the Jurgen Klopp style of counter attack football.
  • Tottenham fans think they’ll beat Leicester; they had 24 shots in the FA Cup tie against the Foxes at the weekend and that was without  Harry Kane for much of the match.
  • Leicester fans think their players will play well after the handball affair of their FA Cup tie with Spurs, in which Foxes’ winger Nathan Dyer gave away a controversial penalty after the ball was seen to tough his hand. They want revenge. Some of the less fired up posters would be very happy with a draw though considering Spurs’ fine form of late.

Conclusion

According to the fans, there will be a lot of fixtures that could go either way. However, the high placed team’s, such as Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City should prevail.

Who to captain? Probably Aguero, only because there aren’t any stand-out choices for these midweek fixtures. Any big hitter could realistically have a good chance of decent points. It also looks like another week of luck-based clean sheets, although Chelsea looks a good bet for a shut out.  This could be a good week to play your attacking defenders if clean sheets are indeed in short supply.

Tough times for ManU fans. May have to switch to supporting them - that's how dull they are. 😉

Even you can't be that dull.

Don't you like a bit of excitement when you're away from the fantasy football?

Just listen to David Bowie again instead. 😀

I saw that video of the Villa fan abusing the players as they board the bus. Dire situation if I ever saw one.

I think we (Arsenal) are being a bit optimistic, we've not actually been playing that well since Cazorla got injured and I'm amazed we've only dropped points to Southampton in our last 6.

Walcott and Gru together doesn't work and Flamini is nowhere near Arsenal quality ATM....Ramsey has tried to replace Cazorla ...he has been good but nowhere near Santi brilliance. Even after all this , Arsenal are the best team in the league imo

B for sure. It's been decades since we saw more strikers than midfielders in a team.

Play Butland (NORWICH) or Hennessey (aston villa)?

Defence is Cresswell, Pieters, Bellerin, so worried about doubling up on Stoke instead of spreading the risk.

    Cheers
