Ashley Williams’ second league goal in the last four seasons hands Swansea a much-needed victory over Watford. The Hornets, meanwhile, fall to a fourth successive defeat as the goals continue to dry up for Odion Ighalo.

Williams wins it for Swans

In front of an audience that included their newly-installed head coach, Francesco Guidolin, Swansea City propelled themselves out of the relegation zone with an attritional 1-0 victory over Watford. Ashley Williams emerged as the match-winner with his first goal of the campaign, steering the Swans to just their second triumph in 12 league match-ups. The Wales international has now scooped 17 out of a maximum 18 bonus points during his side’s six clean sheets this term, cementing his status as their prime Fantasy asset at the back – encouragingly, four of those shut-outs have arrived in the six matches since Garry Monk’s departure. With Crystal Palace (five successive blanks) and West Bromwich Albion on the agenda over the next three Gameweeks (eve, wba, CRY), Williams could attract investment at the 4.8 mark.

Ki Sung-yueng delivered attacking returns for just the second time this term with the assist for William’s goal. The ex-Celtic recruit proved to be a profitable differential in the budget bracket last season – notching eight goals and one assist – but has mustered just five shots on target in 20 appearances this time around. Andre Ayew (7% ownership) remains the most popular route into Swansea’s midfield, but Gylfi Sigurdsson (two goals in three, penalty duties) has arguably edged ahead of the Ghanaian winger in that internal duel. Ayew retained a role up front last night but with Guidolin set to have the final say in team matters, it remains to be seen whether he’ll tinker with Curtis’ tactics.

Watford’s slump continues

Watford slumped to their fourth consecutive defeat last night and are now winless in five matches. The Hornets have suffered from a major drop in form of their strike duo, Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney, who’ve mustered just four shots on target between them over the last four Gameweeks. Although the former’s 40% ownership will certainly be weighing up their options in the wake of three successive blanks, Watford’s back-to-back home clashes (NEW, CHE) could serve as a catalyst for the 6.4-priced frontman, who had previously scored in six straight league outings prior to the goals drying up.

I see him as a sub. So do most SOT fans. Long has been playing really well.

Could come in for Mane but i fancy Mane to play a blinder against United. Audition and all that.

Koeman said they would asses his fitness this week. Pelle is carrying a knock so the door is open but my sense is that he may get a sub appearance late on and he'll be eased in.

    Kdb / Ozil / mahrez / alli / stanislas

You've got Simpson and Dawson as good options at the back this week, so you'll be fine whoever you get at 4.5.

Mahrez is a problem really. Got him at 5.5 so great value - but recent form and loss of pens has me thinking of ditching for Payet the week after next.

Problem comes when you see Leicester fixtures 27 - 30 are NOR - WBA - wat - NEW

I'd lose so much value to brign him back for that...

My only issue is the front 3 is so template that it wont really gain you any ground. If you are already in a good rank then thats ok but if you are chasing maybe one of, Rooney Giroud Costa might be worth a shout.

We've been stung before, and as a United fan I know full-well how badly he and the team are playing - but next two gameweeks, Rooney looks a pretty good option. He has these bursts of goals every season - could easily keep the run going at home to Soton & Stoke.

Potentially an option for those trying to catch teams with Aguero in and need a differential....

Got him instead of Lukaku which is a risk but want to keep kane and Kun.

Can always swap to Lukaku next gw if things go wrong.

Yep, although he shouldn't be. Martial should be up top.

A depends on what Wenger says in his press conference . We don't know if he will start and how many mins he will get . Chelsea are not defending well at the min but they will probably close up shop vs Arsenal this transfer might be a week early . On the other hand KDB has Sunderland (a) next week and two home fixtures I would say wait for the presser . I will probably give Mahrez one last week I would be more tempted to save than do this . I would rather save than do C . Have you seen Ighalo's stats for the last four that has to be a worry too

Yeap Ighalo is in last chance saloon I think. Quite a few options lined up to replace him but let's see how he does first vs NEW.

        Thanks AW.

Is 86 points too much to catch up on? 😐

    86 points outside the top 1k 😀

Not IMO, teams are starting to contain more differentials and with Sanchez and others returning from injury I think that can be caught up.

Not at all, especially if you have WC and the two good chips left.

probably but so many of the top 1k will have used their chips so might as well dream

You can pull back 86 points in a mini league situation.
But how many people do you have to overtake to get to 1k?

It's not so much the points gap, it's how many you have to catch up.

          That's a tough ask then.

It's like a real a real life scenario.
Better to be second in the league chasing a 10 point gap, than 8th chasing a 6 point gap.
          Too many variables!

You can definitely catch up 86 points on any particular person - but you wont catch-up 86 points against the best 1000 managers.

He's not trying to catch all of the best 1000 managers. To get a 3-digit ranking he might just need to catch 2 of them.

On a wc. Open to improvements. I know Rooney > Lukaku is the obvious one but taking a punt. Can always swap back after this next gw.

    De Gea
    Alderweireld Baines PvA
    Barkley Ramsey Alli Wijnaldum
    Aguero Kane(c) Rooney

    Elliot Payet Daniels Williams

      Kane -> Lukaku then 😛

I really don't like Wijnaldum, he doesn't play away from home.

Still 3rd highest mid though haha.

Im just not feeling the Lukaku love for some reason. Also my rank is terrible so he wont really help me improve. ALthough if he scores big Im in trouble.

You set on DDG?? If i was on WC id be considering Cech and play him every week..
Have DDG myself and he has been super but hard to know with the variability of performances by the 10 in front of him..

Cheers man, hmm not sure. Arsenal as hard fixtures I believe. Was with Butland before but again Stoke have a tough run.

Ddg is just a fav of mine so picked him. Cheaper to I think?

Costa instead then? Just not a fan of Rom.

Kane Kun Lukaku would be to template for me to gain rank. Its time to take a risk!

Have 2FT this week and £0.4 ITB don't know what to do as quite happy with team but obviously need to do atleast 1 FT

    Cech Hennessy
    Sagna Alderweireld Williams Targett Martin
    Ozil KDB Mahrez Barkley Wanyama
    Aguero Kane Ighalo

Was think of Ighalo to Lukaku but would need to find around £2.9M to do that

KDB to anyone cheaper than him, he will score 2 this week 3 if City get a clean sheet

    Morning all.

Since I have already -8 for the next game, would you use your WC on that ?

    MyHill Butland
    Cresswell Daniels Nyom Dawson Fonte
    Ozil Silva Mahrez Payet Alli
    Kane Aguero Ighalo

I guess I could change MyHill & Dawson, maybe Fonte, Ighalo & Mahrez too. What do you think ?

    Thanks for the help !

    Butland, Schmeichel
    Bellerin, Dawson, Williams, Rose, S.Taylor
    Ozil, KDB, Eriksen, Payet, Mahrez
    Ighalo, Lukaku, Kane.

    Who should I bench?
    Currently on:
    Schmeichel
    Williams
    Taylor
    KDB

In such a tight game like LEI-STO, I would root for the home keeper and bench Butland. Otherwise the bench looks correct.

Only if you've no other issues, KdB is more explosive than Silva though so I'm happy to keep. Not expecting too much until his next home game mind you.
