I'm considering benching Mahrez for City and yet people here are bringing in Vardy for Lukaku? Surely better to wait 2 weeks.

Anyway, I'm unsure myself on whether to twist or stick on Lukaku. Stoke and WBA are both good fixtures attacking wise so it's just whether Lukaku can get fit and be in the points this time. Surely bound to happen at some point. How did he look first half against Newcastle?

As above I don't want to bring in Vardy till GW27. I wouldn't mind Ighalo in for 27 but next 2 games aren't the best. 2 away games against Spurs then Palace. That said, Spurs didn't look too convincing defensively against Norwich and Ighalo could punish with a goal. And Palace have been pretty poor recently at the back.

    Stick with Lukaku or twist?

Mahrez isn't on pens, is barely creating.

Vardy is scoring, might be on pens, is a cheap alternative to a misfiring striker who has a blank in 3 matches.

Yeah but it's still against City and Arsenal. I remember a few weeks ago everyone was getting rid even though Leicester had just gone through some tough fixtures and now people are willing to get him back in for tough fixtures? Sure, he might score in 1 of the games but it will never be a haul.

Lukaku has had tough fixtures too recently bar Swansea and Newcastle - and sure, whilst we might expect points in the Swansea game every player blanks against a team you expect points. And he went off injured.

Anyway, I'm not debating getting rid of Lukaku - there's def. merits too. Just don't know if Vardy is the correct one given the fixtures.

How does spending both my free transfers on this move sound:

Daniels and Alexis in for KDB and Dawson?

Means keeping Lukaku and waiting for further news, but his next fall doesn't affect me. If he's out, i just play Mahrez away to city. If not, i bench him

Can't fault those transfers. But WBA have been more solid away from home this season and have 3 away games in next 4.

      Maybe Vardy for Lukaku?

Might be risky selling Lukaku if he turns out to be fine though. And not sure we will get confirmation before KO. KDB falling and Sanchez rising before Lukaku news also doesn't help

Daniels is one I am looking at myself but I don't like Bournemouth at the back.

Nope. Budget is 4.7 sadly. I agree r.e. bournemouth, but really like the fact he's on pens as Bou have pace in attack, plus he gets assists

My plan was always to ditch Dawson this week but he looks so dangerous. Could easily have had 2 last night. Also considering Sanchez but not confident of doubling up with Ozil off the back of 3 consecutive Arsenal blanks

      1. Demí
        • 15 Years

Pullis seems to have lost his touch, i think with Dawson, as you say, just relying on attacking points. Newcastle usually score at home, then tricky fixtures after that.

The Arsenal blanks are worrying, but don't think it's through a lack of trying. They're still creating a bucketload

Will you be selling Lukaku in GW27 anyway. As said above I don't mind keeping him if it will be for 2 fixtures but seems pointless keeping just for the 1.

I don't think it's pointless if you have a strong front 8. Cheap 5th mid who you bench every week, and yeah you're probably right.

I'll be selling Lukaku in 27 but, want to keep if he plays both the next two. Have a feeling we won't get news before deadline

    Butland - McCarthy
    Alderweireld - Bellerin - Sagna - Ward - Simpson
    Sanchez - Ozil - Payet - Alli - Stanislas
    Aguero - Kane - Lukaku

    2 FT, 1.3m available.

Was tempted by Butland to Forster and save with ShawX and Wolly out, but now I may have to deal with Lukaku if he's out this weekend (first drop doesn't affect me). Ideally would prefer to abstain from using both FTs.

I assume you guys have Kane. Would you get Vardy over Kane as Lukaku replacement?

Nope. Kane is a better replacement for a straight switch imo

Thoughts on what to do here, folks?

    Hart

    Moreno / Janmaat / Soaure

    Sigurdsson/ Alli* / Ozil / Ramsey

    Lukaku* / Kun / Kane

    (Hennessey/Smalling/Abdi/Evans*)

    1 FT, 0.1 banked.

    A) Smalling to Borthwick Jackson, Ramsey to Alexis (-4)
    B) Lukaku to Afobe, Ramsey to Alexis (-4)
    C) Lukaku to Paloschi, Ramsey to Alexis (-4)
    D) Anything else

    Thank you in advance 🙂

When you do your own homework, think you've come up with a great differential in Lukaku to Austin and then log onto ffscout and realise Its the latest bandwagon. Doh!

    Tought choice

A)Mahrez v City (Away) - Man City at home could dominate Leicester
    or
B)Ighalo v Spurs (Away) - Spurs have the least goals conceded ,Ighalo looked dangerous against "Chelsea"

    Hennessey
    Williams Ward Fonte
    Sanchez Ozil Barkley Mahrez Alli
    Aguero Kane

    Butland Ighalo Daniels Simpson

    West Ham home
    Swansea home
    Everton home
    City away

Which of these do you think Vardy will score against?

He could score in all of those if you ask me. But just to be modest, I'd say City, Everton and maybe Swansea.
