So I did it. After a couple of weeks attempting to resist Sergio Aguero and, despite meticulously constructing a convincing case to avoid him, I went back on my word.

Recovering from the dramatic climb-down, I felt rather hollow heading into this ScoutCast, with Jonty, Andy and Luke all too keen to watch on while I tucked into humble pie.

Not surprisingly, I spend a good part of this episode justifying the back tracking, before I join my co-hosts in offering views on another bout of community questions. We discuss the Lukaku exit plans, Ozil vs Sanchez and contemplate options between the sticks with Jack Butland losing his shine.

Then we move on to the Gameweek preview, as I desperately try to find some joy in pondering which mid-price defender to sign heading into Saturday’s deadline. Sigh.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first aired live on Wednesday evening via our YouTube channel.

You can view the full version via the larger player below, or soak up the more refined audio version via this link or the smaller player.

Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for updates on new episodes.

NB: apologies in advance for Luke’s sound quality. We discovered a technical problem after the recording was completed. If you’re struggling to decipher what he’s saying, just imagine him agreeing with everything I say.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Anything else to tweek with WC team?

Out: Baines, Moreno, Silva, Stanislas, Targett and Lukaku

In: Koscielny, Ivanovic, Sanchez, Gosling, Simpson and Ighalo

    New, fresh team would be:

    -

    Butland

    Koscielny - Ivanovic - Daniels - Simpson - Souare

    Sanchez - Payet - Mahrez - Ozil - Gosling

    Aguero - Kane - Ighalo

          Else if all full price
          Ivan+Goose+Iggie = Zouma+Alli+Valencia ??

Gosling to Alli and Ighalo to Deeney is an easy start. Virtually nothing separates Deeney and Ighalo over the past six matches, and Deeney is on pens.

Its like he lost a leg.
Whereas Alli , also injured 75% to play, also came off early is rocking upwards.

Now its a TV panic , pushing Kane & Vardy up, further panic, more frantic sell/buy
Even tho I sold lukaku weeks ago to get Aguero I kind of hope he gets a hatty this weekend and Vardy completely blanks or even better has a rest on the bench!

How is that 'keeping the public in the loop'? It just causes massive speculation which is helpful to nobody. When there is something to announce then announce it officially, sound bites are not appropriate in cases like this

Why punt on an absolute gamble when you have a very very solid choice in Vardy.

What swings it for me is that even if he blanks these next two, it's quite likely the punty picks will too. And then I will have Vardy for his great fixtures from GW 27 onward and an extra FT.

Please look at my post below 🙂

ye krul i see your point, but i have 2 fts, so got transfers to burn right now... if austin was definitely fit i would bring himin now as can see him ding well, but seems silly to bring one injured player for another, other option is hold lukaku... got him at 8.2

Formulated my plan. Please can I get a few thoughts. Thanks. 🙂

    DDG / HENN
    Bellerin Sagna Dawson Walker Simpson
    Payet Alli Mahrez Ozil Stanislas
    Kane Aguero Lukaku

    * Lukaku & Stanislas -> Vardy & Arnautovic * ~ covers the GW27/30 blanks perfectly.

Next week, Dawson -> Stoke/ Saints defender.

I also have enough money ITB to upgrade Ozil -> Sanchez at any time.

    All good gents?

Aberdeen have been good and Celtic have been bad.

It was close this time last year till Celtic went out of Europe and then went on a run of good form. We will see if it happens again. We can't constantly keep selling all our best players, hoping to uncover unknown gems.

Are Aberdeen doing a bit of a Leicester or are they comfortably the second best team these days? How do u think Rangers will fare if they get promoted? Not paid any attention to the league since the Old Firm days tbh

      2. :
        • 10 Years

What happened was Rangers went bust. No competition, no outlay.

A few short years ago they were beating Barcelona, AC Milan, Manchester United et al in the Champions League. This weekend, they are sending out a bunch of misfits against East Kilbride in the Scottish Cup and a defeat would only measure 6 on the Richter scale.

        Sad days.

          • 10 Years

Well i think everyone assumed there would and should be no competition but the fact they are only 3 points clear at the top and got beaten by Aberdeen last night would suggest there is .. Was very surprised to see that

            • 10 Years

No competition...until now. The lack of investment in that club is understandable given the circumstances. The owners knew that they had the league in the bag until Rangers returned and they hardly had to spend a penny. They knew that 50k+ would turn out every week no matter how dross the fare was. Their problem ironically is that Rangers missed a beat last season. Now it looks as if Rangers - poor as they are - may return as serious competition.

Ah right that would explain a lot and makes sense thanks for that been out of touch with Scottish football for some time.. Be good to see Rangers back and they along with Aberdeen and Celtic were contesting for titles again..

Easy to forget how much interest the league used to generate back in the day and was home to some of the best players in the world in Larsson Gazza Laudrup in particular

I'm considering the same move except for mine is Giroud. But think I will leave him as arse have decent fixture next and get him out next game week unless he improves a lot. Costa would be my high price pick now, him and Chelsea will get better and better till the season end

It amazes me how much more expensive the BPL Doumbia and Pato are than there old cards. Guess I'll stick to Liga NOS and La Liga then.

yes, but not that team, you dont need butland and forster, upgrade azpi to ivan. targett was dropped last game, get simspson, leicester have great fixtures from 27, would prefer vardy to rooney, but think rooney is a solid pick, rest looks good, would try and have payet in as well

Chelsea rejected a £57.5million January bid for Oscar from Chinese club Jiangsu Suning. The ambitious Chinese club plan to come back in the summer with a revised bid whilst they are tracking City midfielder Yaya Toure, John Terry and Liverpool's midfield duo of Phillipe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.

Alex Teixeira has meanwhile agreed a £38million transfer to Jiangsu Suning reporting to be earning over £300,000 a week after bonuses.

I'm torn! Who would you most rather have this week?

    A) Siggy - new striker to complement him, two home games next (CPL STO)
    B) Firmino - playing upfront but Liverpool are inconsistent, have a congested fixture list and a blank gw30
    C) Sanchez - would need a -4 to accommodate him though

    Cheers
