The top two teams in the Premier League get Gameweek 25 underway this weekend as Manchester City welcome league leaders Leicester to the Etihad. Tottenham look to boost their top-four credentials with a fourth straight win as Watford roll up to White Hart Lane, whilst Southampton seek a fifth successive shut-out as West Ham pay visit to St Mary’s.

Sunday’s pair of fixtures involves a couple of the current top five. Arsenal make their way to Bournemouth, with Arsene Wenger’s side looking to end a run of three goalless league matches, before champions Chelsea welcome Manchester United to Stamford Bridge in a late 4pm kick-off.

If you are unfamiliar with FantasyBet, it is particularly accessible for those who play Fantasy Premier League, as it uses a similar scoring system. The players’ prices were originally identical to those of the official game but have now been updated, with players such as Riyad Mahrez and Mesut Ozil now costing 1m more to include in our squads.

This week, FantasyBet are offering a Triple Up Promo – essentially, they will give new sign-ups twice their deposit as a bonus.

Check out this video to see how team creation works.

MY TEAM

Fraser Forster (4.5m)
Alberto Moreno (5m)
Virgil Van Dijk (5.5m)
Toby Alderweireld (5.5m)
Georginio Wijnaldum (6.5m)
Sadio Mane (7.5m)
Roberto Firmino (8m)
Alexis Sanchez (11m)
Jamie Vardy (7.5m)
Harry Kane (9.5m)
Sergio Aguero (13m)

KEY PICKS

Fraser Forster: The Southampton number one’s return from injury has been instrumental to a run of form that has chalked up four straight clean sheets. Forster defied Arsenal with 10 saves at the Etihad on Tuesday and will need to be at his best to nullify West Ham’s in-form attack at St Mary’s tomorrow evening.

Toby Alderweireld: Tottenham’s centre-half offers a strong chance of points at both ends of the pitch this weekend. Alderweireld – who has already produced two goals and three assists – welcomes a Watford side that have failed to score in each of their last two road trips.

Roberto Firmino: The Brazilian looks the man most likely to do the damage as Liverpool host struggling Sunderland at Anfield. Firmino has bagged a brace in two of the last four Gameweeks and will fancy his chances against a Black Cats’ side that boasts the worst away defensive record in the top-flight.

Harry Kane: Four goals and an assist in his last three appearances suggests Kane will be a viable captaincy alternative to Sergio Aguero this week. At home to a Watford defence with a single shut-out in seven, he’ll be confident of adding to his 15 goal-haul so far.

THIS WEEK’S GAME PICKS

As always, the best place to start if you’re new to FantasyBet are the free-rolls – there is a £50 pot available for this Gameweek in both the standard and flash formats.

There’s a Double-Up game for £3.30 entry with a guaranteed prize pool of £120, and also FantasyBet’s biggest weekly game, the Grand Saturday, where your compete for a £1000 guaranteed prize pool on a £5.50 buy in. Multiple entries are available in both.

LAST WEEK

I won £9 in the big midweek pot despite a 59th-placed finish from 70 points – Harry Kane (13 points), Christian Eriksen (11 points) and Aaron Creswell (nine points) were the main contributors. God got first place, captaining Kane and selecting Ross Barkley were the key decisions in a 90-point team. Some other small wins leave me on just under £170.

THIS WEEK’S STAKE

I’m entering the Saturday Double-up, the Grand contest, the free-rolls, the FFScout Picks League and will also have a go at a qualifier to try and win entry into the double grand pot coming up in GW28. This sets me back a total outlay of £10.45.

In addition, I’ll be going up against Beavis, the Community champion in this week’s Scout Picks. He will be taking me on in a specially set up head to head game for a chance to win free entry into a £500 Guaranteed ‘Big Weekly’ game worth £22. Also the eligible Community Champion who beats the Scout Picks by the highest margin every month will win a free entry into the £600 guaranteed ‘Boss’ game worth £55.

FFSCOUT PICKS LEAGUE

Lateriser12 topped the Scout Picks League with a score of 93 points that included six players that scored nine points or more – Jamie Vardy, Harry Kane and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson were his top performers. Once again, FantasyBet have provided a £100 pot for the FFScout Picks League – with a £1.10 stake for entry, it is now possible to enter two teams into this contest. I will enter our Scout Picks as closely as possible, given a 15-man squad is required with the 100m budget and a captain also needs to be selected.

Feel free to go up against them this week and pick your own squad on FantasyBet.

I never like to captain someone in the early Saturday kick off. Not sure why or what caused me to do this 😆

Anyone else have an irrational preference or dislike of certain kickoff times/days!?

Ok that is fair enough . Go for it if that is the case . I think the Walker rotation stuff gets over played on here . It's not like City who rotate full backs in league games . Poch usually has one for the cups and one for the league . Walker is starting the league games at the min and missed the Palace because his partner was giving birth . He is not nailed but I think he is the prem full back at the min if that makes sense .

Yes, imho. Chelsea fan here and he gets much more chances offensively than Azpi. Just he is a worse defender than Azpi...which is why in a 0-0 draw AZ gets more baps

The thing about Lukaku is; when he's on it, he's ON it. When's he not, he's not.

Saw at Reading in the cup earlier in the season and I declared I'd never let him anywhere near my team. A brace against West Brom and he's in beast mode for 2 months.

Look at the games he's scored in this season. He blanked against MCI, CHE, TOT, SWA and has done exactly the same for the return fixture. Blanked vs MUN and ARS too so very much a flat-track bully. Could be down to Martinez's tactics vs the bigger clubs.

Agreed, very hot and cold. A bit of a donkey sometimes, like Giroud.

I'm probably keeping him for the WBA game in 2 weeks - have an okay bench so I can handle it, plus I can imagine he'll turn into a differential (c) pick for that match. WBA aren't that great at the back either so it might be a time to do it!

Having seen the games he's scored in I must admit to being worried if he starts the Stoke game. I've sold for Vardy as I have 2 x FTs and no funds to upgrade my 5th mid (Stanislas).

Worth keeping only if he starts vs Stoke, of course.

Fair enough! Vardy -> Lukaku would be what I would have done.

I'm only keeping because I did 2fts already (Sanchez / Borthwick in for Ozil / Dawson), I'm chasing so I don't want to take a hit (San(c)hez too) and also I think Lukaku as a differential is pretty appealing if I hold.

I only have Borthwick and Saylor on the bench, btw, so I wouldn't worry too much hehe there's definitely worse (I still have an injured Morrison gathering dust... always too many fish to fry)

Hehe, Morrison may be back soon so could save you the trouble of transferring him out 🙂

Interesting that you'd sell Lukaku if you hadn't have made those early transfers! It might just pay off for you in keeping him.

I hate that Alli is a viable 4th mid option. Makes it so much easier for teams with lesser value to be able to afford such a strong side.

How can I compete unless the cheapie a start to fade and the big guns start delivering

I keep thinking I should get him in but I keep thinking "oh I've missed the boat"

It's a judgement call - could be RamseyGate eventually and I'll have to get him in. Just see how it goes after this week:)

Those who are planning to get Vardy for GW 27, Norwich at home, who are you getting rid of?

Obvious option seems Ighalo, as other two strikers are Kun and Kane, but Ighalo has Bournemouth at home!!

Lukaku went this week. Vardy is returning similar points for less, if not more points. Amazing fixtures for Leicester after GW26.
