Saturday’s final roll of the dice finds West Bromwich Albion colliding with Crystal Palace at The Hawthorns – an encounter that, on paper, looks set to be a battle of attrition.

The hosts will be emboldened by their win over Everton last Gameweek, while the visitors are in the midst of a nine-match winless streak.

The Baggies were one of the league’s most impotent sides over the last four Gameweeks, ranking joint-bottom for goals (two), bottom for attempts (33) and bottom for shots on target (seven). Moreover, only Manchester City posted a worse shot accuracy (20.3%) than the West Midlanders (21.2%). On a more positive note, Tony Pulis’ unit proved hard to beat, conceding the joint-second-fewest goals (two) while recording two cleans sheets.

The Eagles netted one goal per match across the previous four Gameweeks – a poor return when you consider that they were at home for three of those fixtures. The Londoners’ defence failed to hold up their end of the bargain, too, conceding eight goals and the joint-fourth-most big chances (eight). That being said, Alan Pardew will be heartened in the knowledge that Palace chart bottom for big chances conceded in away matches (10) this term.

The moment he bought Rondon, the term defensive doesn't really apply to him.

Every year he gets a high number of clean sheets for the team he manages

Unfortunately you just have to rid the storm and get the clean sheets when they're there

Form and fixtures mean nothing with Pulis

That is because he has been exceptionally lucky. The organisation of this poor West Brom team is nothing short of a disgrace, imo.

Today maybe, but when they keep a clean sheet nobody says anything, in fact quite the opposite. They are consistent I will admit.

Bit unfair to say he's lucky considering Pulis consistently gets as many clean sheets as the likes of Arsenal, United, Spurs and Liverpool practically every year he's with a new club. Not a lot of managers can implement that so quickly

He started with Shawcross. This has always been to Shawcross's detriment, and a huge stroke of luck to Pulis. And we have seen that even a totally crap coach like DePardieu can get plenty of cleanies with Palace.

              So I beg to differ.

I don't know if it is for bad preparation at the start of the season, but we are having many injuries and that is hurting us," he said. "I don't want to knock anyone, no teammate, but when the best are missing... I like to play with Bale, Benzema...

"I don't want to say that Jese, Lucas [Vazquez] or [Mateo] Kovacic are not good players, they are very good, but... to win a competition you need to have your best players.

"Our best players are injured, unfortunately, it's a fact, the reality. Bale is injured, Pepe. Karim is not at 100 percent, Marcelo is injured. I believe that is the principal problem this year."

Just looked at my team and only my 2nd goally doesnt play in week 30 ! Can anyone beat that lol !!

    But mccart
Wolly simp bel williams davies (needs replaced eg for dier)
    Ayew ozil arnie mahrez alli
    Kane vardy aguero

How does one start planning now for the double gameweeks if they already have the players for week 30 ?

Is there consensus on when to use the WC ?

Will have a luxury FT this week before getting in Kompany and a City mid for GW 29

Payet->Arny ? Or go simple and get Wolly or Daniels

Why didn't Bilic play Payet in the hole from the start? And no Song? Lineup wasn't right imo

Last minute decision to bring in Arnautovic (-4) being ruined by last minute change from Daniels to Monreal starting 🙁

      Why? Monreal could outscore.

I think Monreal will score well for what it's worth

I wouldn't be surprised if Arsenal keep a clean sheet tomorrow

      Sunderland
      LIV
      LEIC
      West ham

      Doesn't look promising.
