We take our usual post-Gameweek delve into the members data this evening. Chelsea and West Ham’s playmakers are under assessment, as are Spurs and City’s main men up front, whilst we also cast an eye over Bournemouth’s fit-again flier and Norwich’s improving wide man as the Canaries attempt to salvage their top-flight berth for another season.

Is there another transfer you've made? Not sure why you can't afford Williams.

Can't you keep Bellerin, and ship someone else? I'd like that!

I'm happy, so yeah, it'll probably go badly! It's amazing how many top 10K players are nowhere near putting out an 11.

When the dust has settled, I'm hoping to be inside the top 5K. Maybe even with 2FT.

If not, go Yaya - slightly.

I've got a 100 point gap on first right now, about 40 behind 2nd. Banking largely on this for a mini-league with my mates. I feel this is the week I pull myself back into the mix, especially because second doesn't have Aguero or Kane.

its doable for sure but u need to cut that gap this week.. im chasing 79 myself and leader has 6 blankers as it stands.. im going all in with Vardy captain

Vardy captain? That's interesting, because 2nd has Vardy in my league, but first doesn't, while first has Aguero and Kane but 2nd doesn't. Not too worried about 2nd with only four players, but I can totally see 1st banking on a Kane/Aguero captaincy, and I want to counter it. What do you think?

Well yeah its likely that ur leader will go Aguero and im thinking same about mine.. its a close call between Kun Kane Vardy Mahrez and id back them all to return attacking points tbh.. not long left in the season to claw back these points so im going with something different i would advise you to do the same

Okay, so without Arsenal playing, I have 10 players - so it is a matter of using 1 of my 2 FT.

    Team is like.

    Butland,
    van Dijk, Otamendi, Huth,
    OZIL, Mahrez, Arnautovic, Alli,
    Vardy, Kane, Aguero.

    (Ruddy, Nyom, Payet, Bellerin).

***So, who do I get for Ozil?

Fair enough. But if you have any value tied up in Ozil and you likely will want to get him back for DGW, it just doesn't seem a prudent move. I'd rather go Bellerin for Williams than lose value on Ozil for a short term change.

Morning DZ. Have 1FT and a million in the bank. Playing Targett + 10 this GW. Is it worth doing Targett -> Wolly? I want to rather save and stack up transfers to get a strong squad for 34 without WCarding.

    1. ★Kuntheman★
      • 10 Years

Yeah I don't think it's worth it. You have "11" players playing, not worth choking up other GWs for a possible two pointer.

There is almost no chance Targett plays now that Fonte is out. If you can swap him for someone you like for the next few weeks (like Williams), it might be worth it.

You've got a lot of other affordable options with good two week match ups: Wolly, Simpson, Huth, Wimmer (if you don't have three Spurs).

    Thank you ARS for qualifying..
At least you can aim at winning this Cup for a 3rd consecutive time instead of waiting on PL.

But the most exciting part is that so many peeps still have Ozil and Bellerin to make their 11.
I do have Ozil too, but on my bench. All my weeks-long planning is now worth something.

My mini league leader can only field 7, and already played his WC.
But is still 50pts ahead of me.. But I'm becoming more and more optimistic about closing the gap now 🙂

Yeah the two leaders in my league are fielding 4(2nd place) and 7(1st) this week, and they've got about 40/100 points on me, but I'm feeling confident that with a good week, I'd be right back in the mix.

      1. El-Kloppico
        • 10 Years

But still, looking at their team, I'm getting the impression, they are more stocked for the DGW.
Got to make up for this, else I'll easily lose the advantage.
Just hope this GW is a juicy and high-scoring one.

Agreed, but I have four GWs to fix up for that. They've got days to fix up this, especially if they haven't been paying attention to fixtures (this week is going to burn casuals)

So, it will be quite interesting to see whether the teams with only one blank after GW30 get their DGW in GW34 or GW37.

If most of them get it in GW37, I'd hardly have a decent team for GW34. Wish I had a couple of Everton/Liverpool players in the squad!

Need Cedric to start to have 11 playing this gw. What are the chances of that happening ya think?

I feel like Koeman would want to play the best defenders around Yoshida to compensate

They will move to four in the back instead of 3-5-2, so Cedric should play.

What? Totally disagree. Mane had a real shot at a good year and so did Hazard. Walcott was always prone to rotation and Depay would always have it tough as it's his first season

Hazard has been the biggest letdown, but I'm very surprised about Mane. Stats from last season really backed him up, and he's been piss poor. Never believed in the Depay hype, Rooney was always declining, and Walcott would've been great but he's been Sterling-like in front of goal this season.

Definitely agree about Rooney. I think the Depay hype was overblown a bit but I don't think it's fair to (fully) judge until he starts his second season.

I think it's maybe interesting that Sanchez and Hazard had such a tough year.. is it possibly something defences have learned to defend against?

Hazard has nowhere been at his best or even close this season and Sanchez is too predictable most of the times, and does not linkup well with Giroud.

I think part of the issue might be what we're seeing recently with Depay.. he's begun to sometimes push it deep and cross instead of cutting in, making his cuts more effective when he does. I'd like to see more of that from Hazard and Sanchez to make the threat more unpredictable

Being a winger myself, it's all about unpredictability. You know Hazard and Sanchez will cut in, so defender read that and give them the sideline to run through. Sanchez and Hazard need to start taking that space and giving defenders something to think about, rather than trying to force in and get shut down every time. Whenever some defender stops me from cutting in, I just keep going, and you have at least a five yard gain on them because of how they're positioned to stop you cutting in every time.

Maybe, I dont know though, I rate Hazard way more than Sanchez thou. I think Hazard will be at his best again next season.

Sanchez>Hazard for me. Sanchez offers so much more to a team. Hazard really goes through the motions until he gets the ball, and now he's not even much of a threat with the ball. Sanchez is a livewire, even if he doesn't score he'll give your team a headache.

Maybe I wrong, but just my opinion.

Although Haz has been poor this season, people easily forget he single handedly carried Chelsea to the title.

Even though Sanchez looks worldclass when in form, he lacks the level of consistency to do it throughout the season.

Fair point. I just think we rate Sanchez on consistent of goals and assists, truly his performance is always consistent imo, the product just varies.

I can field 11 with Targett as a potential 12th.

I'm wondering whether it's worth swapping Bunn for a better keeper to prepare for the upcoming DGW's?

          Butland
          Simpson Daniels van Dijk
          Silva Sigurdsson Mahrez Alli
          Aguero Vardy Kane

          De Gea, Payet, Dawson, Cresswell
2 FT 0.9 ITB, want to bin Dawson but NOR in 31 and WAT, ars in 34 don't sound very bad for a bench boost, Cresswell has lei, WAT as well.. perhaps Dawson to van Aanholt or van Dijk to Kompany, but figure Kompany won't play both games in the DGW? Want Firmino in as well for the 2 DGWs and no blank 35 but no one I can get him in for this week.. really torn, thoughts appreciated.

There are times that I take hits just to give up, and I still manage to be in the running. I would've quit a while ago if it wasn't for how bad this league is. That's why I'm trying hard for these last few game weeks to make a late push.

That last analogy sums up exactly how I feel. Now I hope my season ends the way the race did. 🙂

Rough one. I did Payet > Silva last week, I might consider Ozil > Silva.

Would you be willing to take a hit to field 11?

Cant get silva, max out on City.

                  I'm looking at Payet->Siggy & Khazri-> Alli for -4. Decent? I'm chasing a big lead so maybe look to get Eriksen/other ?

            C. Kompany
            D. Williams

Depends a little for me on the rest of the team, and when you plan to WC.. Fuchs over Huth, Williams short term is good, Kompany if looking to hold longer

My current backline is Bellerine Daniels Ivan Olson Dier. I plan to wildcard in GW33 and would probably be going with Hart as I fear Kompanys injury record.

                Maybe Williams till GW33?

Ok thanks. I would just compare defensive team stats over the the last 4 for both teams and decide.

              Plus DGWs

Triple Pool looks the way to go from GW33 onwards

I'd avoid their def at all costs right now... hopefully they pick up some defensive form... tripling up on attack would be very risky.

Firmino + one of Sturridge/Coutinho for sure

Maybe Moreno/Clyne but they are awful at he back. Hopfully Sturridge finds some form.

Yeah, that's without the DGWs included. So Everton in there somewhere, but don't know if that's home or away
