Rarely has the ScoutCast witnessed the collision of such contrary forces. With the radical “Andy G” dropping in alongside the self-proclaimed “dullard” Fantasy Manager, Jonty, we were always going to be in for an entertaining ride.

Foxes fan Andy arrives to express his emotions with both Leicester and his Fantasy Premier League lineup riding high. We look back on his implausible captaincy of Riyad Mahrez back in Gameweek 1, whilst picking out the highlights of Andy’s rip-roaring “maverick” season.

Another round of questions from you, the community, has us attempting to unpick the looming double Gameweek scenarios, whilst “Andy M” takes time to dispel the template myth. The four of us then turn our attentions to Gameweek 30, with beatnik boss Andy G revealing his rebellious streak with some crazy transfer talk.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first shown live via our YouTube channel on Wednesday. Be sure to subscribe for details of future episodes.

You can view the full “Hangout” movie via the larger player below, or suck up the edited audio mix via this link or the smaller player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Captain Mahrez over Kane/Aguero ?

City could rest some key players or take them off early with one eye on cl fixture

Villa could park 10 men behind the ball and play for a 0-0 (

Leicester meanwhile playing a newcastle side shipping goals of late probably without a manager and firstchoice 2 centre backs

Pondering the same thing, I am actually deciding between alli and mahrez. And I have Kane and aguero

Villa could bring a triple decker bus and it wouldn't help them get a 0-0.

He will almost certainly be subbed off if City are winning comfortably.

That's always a risk with him tho. You just have to hope that if they are winning comfortably that he has had a big part in it.

He could well get a rest in the champions league. They have three away goals!

Why is it that when I ask: "payet > siggy or save?" everyone says save

    But when i say:

    GW30: Smith
    GW31: Payet(che)
    + 1 FT

    OR

    GW30: Siggy (bou)
    GW31: Siggy (avl)

    everyone chooses the second option...

Just did Payet --> Siggy. and i feel confident.

When you look at the last 10 gw they are neck to neck Siggy (6goals 1 assist) Payet (3 goals 4 assists)

I think the fixtures favors Siggy, So go for it id say unless you have lots of money tied on payet

    2. F_Ivanovic

Because the 2nd one will get more points but the extra transfer may help get more points in long run.

I made that move at the weekend, I now consider it a mistake.
It was in my mind for last GW, I went with City players instead and felt really fortunate that Payet outscored Siggy. I put myself under pressure to make a quick decision ahead of what I thought would be significant price changes this week and pushed the button for all the obvious reasons, blank plus fixtures plus planned WC in GW33.
If I had my time over, I would take that transfer back and bench Payet. I already have 11 players and I've now committed to the GW33 WC earlier than I needed to. I should have just rolled the transfer and kept my options open. I'd happily field Payet in any fixture.

LEI SPUR MCI top 3 out of 4 in the league against NOR NEW AVL the bottom 3

Could be another high scoring week. Kane/Eriksen/Alli, Vardy/Mahrez, Kun/Yaya/Silva are all gooddfor points.

Alll fine captaincy options imo. put the armband on one and hope for the best 🙂

Morning! How's the team looking for this weekend? Subs good?

    Butland
    Fuchs I Kompany I Dier
    Siggy I Mahrez I Yaya T I Alli
    Vardy I Kane (C) I Aguero

    (Hennessey, Daniels, Targett, Ozil)

Still not 100% sure on captain at the moment, I haven't owned Kane all season so I'm sceptical of captaining him but it is Villa after all!

Any concern with Spurs players in Europa last night ?

    1. Walsh

Only conceivable worry is Eriksen, but besides that not much else to note from where I'm sitting.

Didn't watch game so can't comment on that, but my only point is that he is the only first team attacker who started the game and they do have 3 in a week...I think he will still start against Villa but it will be between he, Son, and Chadli for one spot.

Yes, but if he's playing his best team, and we presume he will in the league, Eriksen is nailed. We agree with that?

              I'm not sure.

It's a game with Villa which can be considered not difficult.

He has Fri - Sat to recover and they can look forwards to a home game on next Thu for chance to come back in Europa.

He should start, but there's a chance that he could start on the bench too.

                • 11 Years
                10 years, 20 days ago

considered not difficult yes, but Spurs have the best chance of winning the league for the first time in FIFTY years! And experienced managers know you don't take any chances in the prem. I see no reason why he would take any risks at all...

    1. Walsh

I think Stoke has the best shout of that bunch, but I could see at least 1-1s in all those games honestly.

I have a slight feeling that STO SOU could be a 0-0. But Definitely not the second game. I'm stuck between playing 4-3-3 or using my FT and playing 3-4-3.

Ideally I'd keep Payet but I don't see many points in my defenders this week. Francis, VVD, Wolly, Fuchs. (Nyom)

        1. Yaya
        2. Siggy
        3. Silva
        My current thinking.
Will spend a couple of hours going through the City supporters forums to see what they are thinking too.

DGW swings it to MCY unless you are dead set on a GW33 WC, Yaya of the 2 - more explosive and cheaper

Have Siggy but not too excited, at most a goal or assist per game the way Swansea are playing at the moment...though he's likely to get baps cos the rest of the team is rubbish.

Yaya/Silva were scary to watch but partly due to the fact that they were highly owned on FFS....would go with Yaya personally. Silva's so frustrating to own.

Is it worth upgrading Payet > Yaya or Silva if you have only 2 midfielders this GW?

Payet Ozil Lingard currently without a game...Mahrez Sigurdsson for me.

      I would.

Blank, che, CPL, blank in 4 of the next 5 for Payet

Yup...exactly. Who for you reckon? Yaya or Silva?

Eye test says Silva. but Yaya just ends up outscoring Silva all the time anyway.

1 FT to use or lose. What should I do ?

    Butland (Hennessey)
Fuchs - Kompany - VVD - Toby (Bellerin)
Alli - Mahrez - Arnie (Ozil, Payet)
    Kane - Kun - Vardy

Too much fund to lose if I sell Ozil or Payet, so I'm considering these options.

    A) Arnie --> City mid? Siggy?
    B) Bellerin --> someone
    C) Upgrade Hennessey --> Robles?
    D) Do something else

How much do you have tied up in Payet?

Blank, che, CPL, ARS, blank in the next 5 looks very meh, so I'd go for

      D) Payet -> Yaya (or Siggy if dead set on a GW33 WC), or I'd save.

Don't think any of the 3 you mention is worth it over saving and starting VVD.

I'm going Butland I think mate. ShawX back, Butland better for saves and Soton don't seem to be scoring too many.

Norwich have it all to play for and usually score at home.

Will it be possible to have 15 dgw players in gw34 with a view to bench boosting and still be able to field a full team in gw35? I can't see how tbh. Could the optimum strategy be having 11/12 dgw players only?

    Butland
    Alderweireld, Wollscheid, Simpson, Targett
    Mahrez, Sigurdsson, Alli
    Aguero, Kane (c), Vardy

    De Gea, Ivanovic, Ozil, Lingard

    1 FT 4.1 ITB

    A) Targett -> Kompany
    B) Ozil -> Silva

Wish I could afford Lingard -> Yaya Toure but I'm short.

That's a shame re Yaya - would have been a great move. A) of those 2 for me - Targett a doubt to start and you'll want Ozil for his DGWs and fixtures to follow.

    Morning DZ,

    Best move here?

    A) Save
    B) Hennessey -> Lloris

Currently have 7 potential DGWers (CAPS) so can still get 11DGWers for GW34 with either A or B.

    A) gives some extra flexibility
    B) gives a decent keeper up to the later WC, and if I end up going for a GW33 WC then it looks a no brainer - not convinced either way on that yet though.

    ELLIOT
    KOMPANY, Wolly, Simpson
    YAYA, Mahrez, Alli, Arnie
    AGUERO, Kane, Vardy

    HENNESSEY, SANCHEZ, BELLERIN, JEVANS
    Bank 1.5m, 1FT

Yeah, that's my current thinking. But I'm not sure there's much to lose with B) given I can still get 11 DGWers in GW34 without a hit, and there's still a good chance I'll WC in GW33.

Really unsure re the WC. Definitely one of GW32, GW33 or GW36.

If 32 or 33 then B looks a no brainer.

If 36 then it's pretty close, with A probably shading it

        I think :/

More I think about WC GW32, more I like it.

    - 2 week international break
    - Team set for CHE v avl, ARS v WAT, MCI v bou
    - Tot, Swa have poor fixtures
    - Can keep Mahrez for GW33 v sun
    - 2FT for contingencies/Mahrez in GW34

I saw this earlier - it's an interesting idea for sure.

Playing devils advocate I'd say the big downside is an extra week for players to get injured/banned and ruin your GW34 DGW plans

Regarding the positives you mention above:

      1) Aren't you already loaded up on ARS & MCY?
      2) How many CHE would you bring in?
      3) How many LEI & TOT players will you keep?
      4) Would you BB in GW34 with 15 DGWers?

      It's certainly worth considering imo

Hey Jins - have 3 MCI but only 1 ARS. Want to ideally own 3 LIV, 3 ARS, 2 CHE, 2 MCI, 1 each from EVE, MUN, WHM, LEI and NEW. This will allow me 14 DGW players for GW34 plus Mahrez/Vardy.

Tot has liv, MUN, sto, WBA, che 32-36. Happy to ditch all.

Considering this myself. I've used bench boost already so I don't need to save my WC for a DGW. Think I can get maximum use out of it by doing it in 32.

I can't wrap my head around the potential DGW stuff..WHU likely to have a DGW in 34?

Thinking of a trade of Payet > Yaya/Silva...but if both teams have a double, I'd take my chances with Payet.

With a WC round the corner I think maximising points is the main agenda. That means not holding a midfielder who is blanking like Payet, can buy him back later. Would have thought not many have a lot of value tied up in him?

I got him at 7.6 🙁 would lost a bit but not really fussed actually.

Yep, I think Payet is likely to have a DGW in 34 and 37 given they have a blank this week and a guaranteed blank in GW35.

      So that would mean:

Payet - blank, che, CPL, ARS, lei/WAT, blank

      vs

Yaya - nor, MUN, bou, WBA, che/new, STO

I'd back Yaya over that stretch
