Rarely has the ScoutCast witnessed the collision of such contrary forces. With the radical “Andy G” dropping in alongside the self-proclaimed “dullard” Fantasy Manager, Jonty, we were always going to be in for an entertaining ride.

Foxes fan Andy arrives to express his emotions with both Leicester and his Fantasy Premier League lineup riding high. We look back on his implausible captaincy of Riyad Mahrez back in Gameweek 1, whilst picking out the highlights of Andy’s rip-roaring “maverick” season.

Another round of questions from you, the community, has us attempting to unpick the looming double Gameweek scenarios, whilst “Andy M” takes time to dispel the template myth. The four of us then turn our attentions to Gameweek 30, with beatnik boss Andy G revealing his rebellious streak with some crazy transfer talk.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first shown live via our YouTube channel on Wednesday. Be sure to subscribe for details of future episodes.

You can view the full “Hangout” movie via the larger player below, or suck up the edited audio mix via this link or the smaller player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Sorry I know this is really lazy, but work is stacked at the moment, so just a fly by visit.
Tried to have a scroll up but couldn't see it stand out.

Was there the expected announcement about DGWs yesterday?

Really lazy I know, but manic!

Finding it very tricky not to captain Kane/Alli. Would prefer Alli but couldn't take a sub appearance so mightn't risk it

    2FT, 0.6 ITB

    Butland / Myhill

    Cahill / Monreal / Dawson / Fuchs / Smith

    Ozil / Firmino / Payet / Mahrez / Watson

    Aguero / Kane / Ighalo

Is it worth doing a -12 for this? -

    Cahill - Wimmer
    Firmino - Silva / Toure
    Payet - Sigurdsson
    Ozil - Eriksen
    Ighalo - Vardy.

    Morning all,

I have 2fts and am wondering whether it's worth transferring Arnie --> Siggurdson

    Current team is:

    Hart (Butland)

    Simpson Kompany Daniels Alderwierweld

    Arnie Alli Mahrez (Sanchez Payet)

    Kane Aguero Vardy

    What do you think?

Depends, when do you think you'll WC?

if early, then sure, if later, then use the transfer on a DGW player now

        Yeah I was thinking that...

        Does Siggy have a DGW?

MD's as follows: Alli Mahrez Ozil* Payet* Stanislas*

    A) ditch Ozil or Payet for Silva Yaya or Siggy
    Or
    B) Stanislas to King or Ritchie keeping the big guns for DGW's?

    Captain options analysis:

So having had a look over the fixtures for this week, the ones with captain options are:

    Norwich v Man City.
    Aston Villa v Tottenham.
    Leicester v Newcastle.

Nothing we didn’t already know there.

Based on this and a spreadsheet I created for ranking captain options based on fixture difficulty and form (last 4 games), the results were (scores in brackets)

Aguero (12.19), Kane (11.24), Mahrez (11.10), Vardy (8.46) in that order.

Also rans were Silva (7.95) and Dele Alli (7.02).

I then took the top 4 listed above and analysed of points per game and points per min, home and away. Results are:

    Aguero (Away to Norwich):

All Premier league fixtures played to date:
    Points per minute: Home – 0.05, Away – 0.09
    Points per game (minimum 60 minutes): Home – 4.75, Away – 7.55

    Last 5 Premier league fixtures:
    Points per minute: Home – 0.08, Away – 0.07
    Points per game (minimum 60 minutes): Home – 7.4, Away – 6.0

    Kane (Away to Aston Villa):

All Premier league fixtures played to date:
    Points per minute: Home – 0.056, Away – 0.059
    Points per game (minimum 60 minutes): Home – 4.9, Away – 5.2

    Last 5 Premier league fixtures:
    Points per minute: Home – 0.05, Away – 0.06
    Points per game (minimum 60 minutes): Home – 4.4, Away – 5.6

    Mahrez (Home to Newcastle):

All Premier league fixtures played to date:
    Points per minute: Home – 0.07, Away – 0.10
    Points per game (minimum 60 minutes): Home – 6.1, Away – 10.2

    Last 5 Premier league fixtures:
    Points per minute: Home – 0.05, Away – 0.08
    Points per game (minimum 60 minutes): Home – 4.4 Away – 6.2

    Vardy (Home to Newcastle):

All Premier league fixtures played to date:
    Points per minute: Home – 0.07, Away – 0.06
    Points per game (minimum 60 minutes): Home – 5.5, Away – 6.4

    Last 5 Premier league fixtures:
    Points per minute: Home – 0.06, Away – 0.04
    Points per game (minimum 60 minutes): Home – 5.8 Away – 3.4

Summary (Last 5 only – 60 minutes min, points per game)

    Aguero Away – 6.0
    Kane, Away – 5.6
    Mahrez, Home – 4.4
    Vardy, Home – 5.8

So based on this my ranking for captain options this week are:

    1. Aguero, 2. Vardy, 3. Kane, 4. Mahrez

Although Aguero does perform better at home, his away stats are still favorable this week and see him take the armband in my book.

    Sharing is caring.

Will be going with Mahrez. NEW dont have a manager and dont have anyone left in their backline.

Yes this makes sense, the problem with analysis of stats is that it cannot (easily) be setup to take into account variables such as managerial issues, moral, injuries etc.

Absolutely. Its a great analysis, but stats are just stats and there are other facts to consider. NEW dont have a left back at all 😀

I know we always say Form but people getting in Daniels have you seen his remaining fixtures? Par Villa that is a very tough run!

    Dann
    1) Wollschield (Butland but Schmeichel plays more often
    2) Huth (Schmeichel coverage, also blocks Vardy)
    3) Williams
    4) Daniels

    Lukaku
    A) Vardy
    B) Defoe (blank this week this is more for my reference)
    C) Afobe
    D) Rondon

Only need a letter and number from you wonderful people please haha

My previous wave of advice was to not sell Lukaku but without doing that I can only field 10. He is also only 0.1m more expensive than I paid for him and likely to fall so at worst it would only cost 0.1m and a FT to get him back? Good idea right as he'd be a good pick to be brought in for DGW's and form anyway?

I could sell an extra defender and rock 5-3-2 to keep Lukaku that may be a plan for this week then as a few people seem to be saying hold and I did the last time everyone was selling and was rewarded!

    Morning all,

I was planning on bringing in J King for a -4pt hit to get 11 out but after the news “Joshua King is still carrying a knock but we're managing it” do you think its a risk worth taking?

I can see the appeal of City players for a hit but don't think this is worth it at all.
Gl if you decide to go for it though

I can field 11 this week but is there a chance that Cedric may not play?

    Butland

    Alderweireld - Simpson - Cedric

    Alli - Sigurdsson - Arnautovic - Mahrez

    Kane - Vardy - Aguero

    Subs: Hennessey*, Kolcielny*, Dawson*, Ozil*

Got a free transfer to use - worth changing Cedric to Kompany in anticipation of a possible DGW34? Got plenty in the bank to upgrade.

Having already used all my chips and both wildcards is it worth taking a -16 hit over the next 4 weeks to have two full DGW teams(34&37) and potentially 10 playing in GW35?

Would any of you be concerned that Hart will lack save points and bonus like a Butland or Fabianski?

With a Palace and Everton blank GW35, is it still possible to get 15DGW34s and 11 GW35s?
