Rarely has the ScoutCast witnessed the collision of such contrary forces. With the radical “Andy G” dropping in alongside the self-proclaimed “dullard” Fantasy Manager, Jonty, we were always going to be in for an entertaining ride.

Foxes fan Andy arrives to express his emotions with both Leicester and his Fantasy Premier League lineup riding high. We look back on his implausible captaincy of Riyad Mahrez back in Gameweek 1, whilst picking out the highlights of Andy’s rip-roaring “maverick” season.

Another round of questions from you, the community, has us attempting to unpick the looming double Gameweek scenarios, whilst “Andy M” takes time to dispel the template myth. The four of us then turn our attentions to Gameweek 30, with beatnik boss Andy G revealing his rebellious streak with some crazy transfer talk.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first shown live via our YouTube channel on Wednesday. Be sure to subscribe for details of future episodes.

You can view the full “Hangout” movie via the larger player below, or suck up the edited audio mix via this link or the smaller player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Butland
    Alderweireld/Fuchs/Williams
    Mahrez/Arnautovic/Shaqiri/Sigurdsson
    Aguero/Vardy/Kane (c).
    Bench all blanks.
Man City, Stoke, Swansea, Spurs & Leicester all to win 42/1.
PS. Posted a link to the Watford Fc twitter page a few days ago, hinting that DGW info won't be revealed until the conclusion of FA Cup games this weekend, but who knows.

I was planning on bringing in J King for a -4pt hit to get 11 out but after the news “Joshua King is still carrying a knock but we're managing it” do you think its a risk worth taking?

Does the fact that Norwich really do look like they're battling as oppose to Villa who look completely dejected coming into anyone's thinking regarding captaincy?

      VERY much so.
The points comparison on the last page is fine and all that, but it's isolated to previous performance.
Fixtures and manager swaps should really affect your decision

One minor point occurs to me about using your WC in GW33. Lots of managers, including those who are not using their wild cards, are going to be loading up on DGW players. That means their prices will rise, so there might be a slight TV advantage for those managers who have made their transfers in GW33 - which might make the difference between, say for example, Silva and KDB later on.

    Thoughts?

    1. Sjaugen
      • 10 Years
      10 years, 20 days ago

Well, if you activate your WC before doing a transfer, it doesn't count towards the threshold of price changes.

Not sure if it works like this - take a -20 hit dont activate wc and than do one more transfer and activate wc? That affects the threshold right?

      hey SS 🙂

      How's your team shaping up?

Tough one - if it's just for the one week, could definitely be goals between Swansea and Bournemouth so I'd probably plump for Ritchie.

If it's for a 5th mid you'd seriously play in a few games going forward, Frisking said that Norwich do have a decent run - they are playing for their lives so if you're looking to make a mid-term choice Redmond would be cool, too.

tl;dr - Ritchie if it's just for this week, Redmond if it's for mid-term!

Hey all! Sorry if this is really obvious, but how is this for a plan on using my remaining chips DGW-wise:
    - Find out a dgw at least a few weeks in advance (when they announce after this weekend)
    - Wildcard 2 weeks before the dgw, with a team totally stocked up on players who should all play twice in the dgw. Obviously try and make these decent players too (payet etc)
    - Bench boost on the actual dgw, hopefully giving you 15 players playing twice!
    - Triple captain somewhere later in the season (e.g. last day or something fun like that)

Is that most people's general plan now that chips are involved this year?
Obviously the team would potentially need a rebuild after, but depends on the teams with a dgw I suppose (e.g. If city have a DGW then you are left with Aguero afterwards anyway so happy days)

Any mileage in a 1 week punt on Shaqiri to fill out my midfield? I've seen a couple are looking at / have brought him in.

Pro's Last stoke game I watched was STO vs NEW match, Stoke basically played terrible yet both Arnie (v close to goal) and Shaqiri (goal) can make something from nothing.

Con's Southampton though are much more sound defensively even when they had just 10 men.

          I agree Yaya too inconsistent
Alli + Eriksen unnecessary (especially (C)Kane too)
Other mids I like are all blanking so if you need another mid for this week I would go with Stoke so Shaqiri could be a well reasoned choice

Not a bad shout, good differential - in a week when not many diffs about it could pay off.

Is it worth swapping Arnoutovic for Siggy or saving the transfer? I have a solid starting 11 and Wolly on the bench, but Siggiy is the one that worries me this week. Thoughts?

Correct to use my FT for Yaya and bench King as he is 'still carrying a knock'?

Think I'm in a similar boat, trying to identify a mid-price midfielder to bring in!

I was thinking between Yaya, Shaqiri, Alli/Eriksen

Depends on your City cover really 🙂

    Bottomed:
With a Palace and Everton blank GW35, is it still possible to get 15DGW34s and 11 GW35s?

    Any word on Rose's injury?

Considering bringing in either Wimmer or Davies for next couple of GWs.

    Schmeichel
Williams - Huth - Kompany - van Dijk - Alderweireld
    Gosling - Alli - Mahrez
    Agüero - Kane

    Subs: Butland Özil* Lukaku* Payet*

    Would this be GTG?

I can either do this or drop to 4 3 3 if I sell Lukaku instead of Azpilicueta (to Williams)

      5-3-2 is bold!

I think you're all good, though - I'd keep Lukaku if I still had him because he'll be a real differential in the upcoming gameweeks. Plus he always plays well vs. the big teams (they have ARS and mun!)

Appreciate the reply I'll gamble then (and hopefully won't get no CS's :D) shame Gosling was my 5th mid if there was ever a time for him to get a random goal or three this week please!

In a similar boat in terms of hoping for random goals from a punt haha

They have no one being called a "left back" now. He would destroy him anyways, but this just makes it rock solid.

On the other hand, most of the Norwich defence is fit. So Aguero(C)?

      Hardest captain decision this week...

I was 100% fixed on Aguero but I'm looking at both Kane and Mahrez now...

Think about it this way. Who are you more afraid of not captaining? Aguero or Kane?

If I captain Kane and I see all my opponents with Kun(C) I'll be very nervous for that City match at 12 45

I think I'll be hiding behind my sofa between 12:45 - 14:30 tomorrow, but I always think that if Liverpool scored 6 against Villa then there's no reason why Spurs can't!

On the flipside, Norwich are actually battling for their survival whereas Villa dgaf now.

    Schmiechel (Foster)
Toby Daniels VVD ( Koscielny Dann)
    Arnie Mahrez Alli Siggy (Wijnaldum)
    Vardy Aguero ( Lukaku)

    Thinking long term

1Ft. Question: Save FT or sell Lukaku and get Kane?

    To start this game week:

    A) VVD (stk)
    B) Smith (SWA)

Already have Forster in goal and a Bournemouth clean sheet seems more likely (and that is affirmed by the bookies).
