With Saturday’s programme ravaged by the FA Cup Quarter-Finals, there are just two more Premier League clashes to scrutinise this afternoon: Bournemouth play host to a resurgent Swansea City side, while Southampton search for their first win in four when they travel to Stoke.

The Cherries fared well on the attacking front over the last four Gameweeks – tallying six goals – but it’s their reaguard that has really shined: aside from being breached on just four occasions, they conceded the fewest shots inside the box (21) of any team that didn’t face a blank during that timeframe. As for the Swans, they also restricted their opponents to four goals but allowed the second-most shots inside the box (45) and joint-third-most big chances (nine).

Only three teams racked up more goals than Stoke City (seven) over the previous four Gameweeks, reflecting their improvement in the final third. In addition, Mark Hughes’ charges conceded the fewest goals (three) and big chances (three) of any outfit that didn’t miss a fixture over this spell. Shifting our attention to Saints, they ranked in the bottom third for attempts (43) and shots inside the box (23), illustrating their need for an attacking spark.

If that fixture was played 10 times Aguero would have scored in at least 8 of them. The dark side of probability.

I avoided FFS all last night after making my Kane (c) choice... if you were commenting/looking/lurking, I'd strongly advise you doing so once you've made a decision that goes against your gut. The guys here are really insightful but just remember sometimes it comes down to what you reckon is the best choice.

Is anyone else concerned that, despite all our planning, if we WC in GW33 to field 15 DGWers in GW34, that the likes of Mahrez, Vardy, Sigurdsson, Kane, are just going to make us look very silly??

More concerned all will not be possible due to loads of dgw players blanking in 35

That's actually a fair shout. It's just that as Kuqi says, fielding 15 DGWers is extremely tempting.

I think I'll take this approach though myself.

In fairness, I can get to 9 DGWers with FTs, without any hits

It just reminds us that a happy balance is going to be needed. Mahrez has had enough DD scores to tell us that it would be a huge risk to leave him out for a dgw player.

Yeah...it's a great novelty-the idea of having THIRTY performances, but I can't see it shaking out like that.

          1) It requires you to give up better less over-worked players
          2) It neglects the fact that GW35 will be affected by those choices
          3) Rotation will play a big part. Areas like the Everton flanks will be very unpredictable. Klopp always likes to freshen up too etc

Next week is a toughie. Have 2FT so need to make one really, but with 3 City (upcoming DGW), 3 Spurs (BOU), 3 Leicester (Cpl), Ivan (DGW) and Siggy (AVL) in my 11, there's no scope to change really is there? My bench will be Hennessey, Pieters, King & Bennett, so maybe Pieters to a DGW defender? If so, who?

Who is better prospect to bring in?

    A) Siggy

      B has 2 DGW.

      A) is just for AVL as fixtures worsen a lot after.
B has 2 upcoming DGWs as well as no blanks.

If you plan to WC 33 then A, otherwise B

Those who captained kun & are coming out now saying they knew they shouldn't have, are so annoying! I mean you had a week to decide, & kun was no way a bad choice, so please, just man up to the decision!

I probably shouldn't have but I did and it was a perfectly good choice. Im not happy with the outcome, but the choice is mine and I accept the outcome. (however shitty!)

Exactly, we all were equally tempted by Kane, just that captain kun had never let me down, & with Kane you never know, he might drop in too deep

Kane may blank and get sent off still...

Lol, that's too much to ask for! I wouldn't mind a Kane goal, but just the one

I put the arm band on Kun and would do it again given the same scenario. For a start way too much of a risk with such high proportion of H2H and league rivals doing the same. Apart from explosive potential and being pure class. Anyone can have a bad day at the office. One thing I will say city away form is dire.

Not sure but I think one is sunderland and possibly eve. Not like they don't give up goals.

Don't think aguero TC is a good idea in a DGW, specially away from home, rather put it on someone who'll be at home & nailed for 180 minutes

City's poor form has a lot to do with the official announcement of pep mid season IMO
We all knew it, but making it official was a step too far

Agree but on the flip side who would not want to put in some good displays and have the chance of playing under Pep.

Not sure it'd work at big clubs in UK, I think in general, motivation might be an issue for city
They do well one year, then they try again, then drop off

Non Kun (C)...in any other week it would be a no brainer to captain Kun against Norwich - despite City's away stats and Norwich fighting for their life. But when you have 2 or 3 other better options I can't believe so many still went with him.

I think many went him afraid that they might miss out on his haul, coz he has a insane ceiling aguero!

If Everton and Liverpool were both to have a DGW34, DGW37 and no blank 35; which players from those teams would you load up on?

      Lukaku Barkley Firmino Moreno

Robles, Lennon, Lukaku, Mignolet, Coutinho, Firmino would be the 3 from each I would prefer, although unless using BB, that's one goalie too many!

Because of this the Stug bandwagon will happen. A match or two with no injury and everyone will want him.
