Ryan Shawcross and Xherdan Shaqiri are ruled out of Stoke’s clash with Watford. Everton’s Bryan Oviedo remains a doubt, Watford top scorer Odion Ighalo is set for a late assessment, whilst Andre Ayew is sidelined for Swansea’s home match against Villa.

Bryan Oviedo remains a doubt for Everton’s clash with Arsenal, with Roberto Martinez admitting that the Costa Rican has “lost a considerable amount of weight” from a recent chest infection. Gareth Barry serves the first of a two-match suspension for the Toffees after being sent off against Chelsea last weekend, whilst Kevin Mirallas sits out the second of his own two-match ban.

Mathieu Flamini has been ruled out of Arsenal’s trip to Everton with the knock that forced him off against Barcelona in midweek.

Villa’s Carlos Sanchez has stepped up his recovery from a hamstring problem and “should” be available for the trip to Swansea. Remi Garde is hopeful that both Jack Grealish and Adama Traore could return in time to face Chelsea in Gameweek 32.

Sunderland’s new signing Emmanuel Eboue has picked up a hamstring problem and joins Duncan Watmore on the sidelines ahead of the Tyne-Wear derby. Jermain Defoe has been suffering from a calf complaint but will return to full training today.

Ryan Shawcross has been ruled out of Stoke’s trip to Watford due to a back problem. Xherdan Shaqiri is also missing after picking up a thigh complaint, though Mark Hughes reckons both will be back in contention after the international break. Erik Pieters has failed to train all week and remains doubtful, though Phil Bardsley is back in contention after recovering from a calf problem.

Alan Pardew is optimistic that Mile Jedinak will recover from a back problem in time to face Leicester. Connor Wickham remains sidelined with a thigh problem.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe will make a late decision on Harry Arter’s fitness as the midfielder continues to nurse an Achilles complaint. Junior Stanislas remains on the sidelines for the trip to Tottenham.

James Morrison remains sidelined for West Brom, Tony Pulis has confirmed. The Baggies boss also conceded that they have “one or two knocks” ahead of Norwich’s visit tomorrow.

James Collins and James Tomkins are still unavailable for West Ham’s trip to Stamford Bridge, though Winston Reid is back in contention after being forced off with cramp last weekend. The on-loan Victor Moses cannot play against his parent club.

Quique Sanchez Flores will make a late check on the availability of Odion Ighalo, who was subbed off with a muscle problem last weekend. Miguel Britos remains a doubt with a calf complaint, whilst Joel Ekstrand is unlikely to be available for the visit of Stoke.

Ander Herrera missed United’s cup clash with Liverpool last night with a minor groin problem.

Eric Dier and Ben Davies are both doubts for Tottenham’s clash with Bournemouth. The latter was forced off against Dortmund following a collision with keeper Hugo Lloris, whilst Dier picked up a knock towards the end of the 2-1 home loss.

Andy King is doubtful for Leicester’s clash with Palace due to the illness that caused him to miss out against Newcastle on Monday.

Andre Ayew misses Swansea’s home encounter against Villa due to an ankle problem, though Jefferson Montero is available after recovering from illness.

Nathan Redmond is ruled out of Norwich’s clash against West Brom due to the ankle injury sustained against City last Saturday lunchtime.

Which DGW player would you take a hit for?
    A. Barkley
    B. Rondon
    C. Another differential (I have all the dull DGW choices)

I can get 9 DGW players with no hit for GW34. I have TC, WC and AOA, but NO BB.

I'm therefore thinking of this plan:

    - Use one hit to get 10 DGW players in 34, play AOA (see team below).
    - Use WC in 36
    - Use TC on Lukaka in 37

    No-hit DGW34 team (with AOA)

    DDG
    Bellerin / Dawson
    Ozil / Firmino / Yaya / Payet / Mahrez
    Kun / Lukaka / Vardy

So as you can see, I'm contemplating either Mahrez > Barkley or Vardy > Rondon as my one hit for a DGW player. Thoughts?

Open game, fpl perspective not too many options, Martial could be good DGW option, especially if he stays on pens. Firmino pretty quiet but still best Liv option. Smalling/DDG only safe option for Man Utd def, Mig only nailed def, although would still feel safe with Clyne/Sakho imo

One bummer about the GW37 BB option is that a smaller pool of teams playing against each other means getting 15 DGWers will have a more proportion of teams playing against each-other. So defenders will be against our own attackers.

    Always a turn-off for me.

i am still on the fence but leaning more-and-more towards GW33 now.

It was high-scoring by the no. of teams played wise, and the fact that many 'casuals' did not have enough players to challenge the canny-planners. It was not as high scoring as usual weeks I think.

True, but it lowers the chance of rigging and fixing, because when there's huge money at stake and massive mediatisation, huge institutions with a lot of people who would have to be involved in keeping the secret, any conspiracy becomes that much more difficult. E.g. there is a lot of match fixing in football (let alone in other sports) but never in CL.

Just done a basic calculation (and it's probably flawed as I haven't studied probability for 20 years) but I make the chances of the 3 teams avoiding each other in a fair draw in any given season as 57%

Chances of it happening 5 seasons in a row is then 6%

Recount? I did a fast calculation and got slightly higher probability of 60% for them to avoid each other in a fair draw, and hence also a slightly higher probability of them repeating that 5 times (7,5%). Not that that changes much.

    8. Camp No No
      • 12 Years

Coincidence or not, it's a good thing. Since those three teams always make it to the semis (have made it every single time last 5 seasons) it shows that they also have every time been better than the challengers. So, if they played against each other in QF's, one weaker team would advance to the semis without playing any of them.

      Probably is a coincidence, anyway.

Note, however, that for several seasons now the 4th team has always made the final. So it has always proven stronger, at least in one 2-leg tie, than one of the big three.

    Alli - Mahrez - Payet - Ozil - Arnie
    Kun - Kane - Vardy

    A) Bench Alli
    B) Bench Payet
    C) Play AOA with Simpson making way (Toby and Williams to start)

    Thanks.

Any suggestions for this week? A bit at a loss, but need to use a transfer!

    Butland (Forster)
    Aldy Fuchs Williams (Daniels Azpi)
    Ozil Siggy(vc) Mahrez Alli (Payet)
    Kane(c) Vardy Aguero
    0.7ITB 2FT

    Some ideas:
Forster -> DDG (poor week to do it, but I can just afford it)
Payet -> Firmino (but payet also has dgw)
Azpi -> ? (he has to go at some point, but not sure for who)

Looking at Vardy > lukaku too but like Payets away form

  27. jmcclory123

For those worrying who to captain,

    Captaincy Pick for GW31:

Lukaku: Last 5 Games: 3 Goals 1 Assist, Last 10 Games: 5 Goals 2 Assists
Vardy: Last 5 Games: 1 Goal 2 Assists, Last 10 Games: 4 Goals 3 Assists
Siggy: Last 5 Games: 2 Goals 1 Assist, Last 10 Games: 6 Goals 1 Assist
Firmino: Last 5 Games: 3 Goals 3 Assists, Last 10 Games 7 Goals 4 Assists
Kane: Last 5 Games: 4 Goals 0 Assists, Last 10 Games 8 Goals 1 Assist
Aguero: Last 5 Games 3 Goals 0 Assists. Last Games 9 Goals 1 Assist

    Best short term form: Firmino
    Best long term form: Firmino/Aguero

In terms of Defence's they Meet

Lukaku meets Arsenal who have conceded 8 in their last 5
Vardy meets Crystal Palace who have conceded 10 in their last 5
Sigurdson meets Villa who have conceded 17 in their last 5
Firmino meets Southampton who have conceded 6 in their last 5
Kane meets Bournemouth who have conceded 6 in their last 5
Aguero meets Man Utd who have conceded 6 in their last 5

By the numbers and in my opinion,

It's hard to look past Sigurdson against Villa
Kane would be my next bet
    Followed by Firmino
    Then Aguero
    Lukaku
    then Vardy

Unsure about when to wildcard and what transfer to make this week

    Forster Mccarthy
    BELLERIN Toby Fuchs Daniels Wolly
    PAYET Ozil Mahrez Alli Siggy
    AGUERO Kane Lukaku

    2ft
    3.8 itb

    A) Mccarthy to Robles (Wildcard later and need Robles as will be priced out of Sanchez before gw34 with free transfers)
    N) Wolly to Williams (Wildcard in gw33)
