No one will be keeping Vardy. Some keeping Mahrez or Alli (I too will be keeping one of the two). Would like to keep Mahrez but could be Alli depending on budget.

I've thought about this but I'm still unsure...

No so worried about that GW - it's the others, as ownership of them (plus Kane) could kills ranks !!

I was asking this a few weeks ago and most seemed to be wanting 15 DGW players - the nearer the time has come the more people are leaning towards 12/13 and retaining a few Spurs/Leicester players.

Strangely, when I made a rough GW33 WC team I found myself planning for 14 DGW players when I'd maintained I'd have no more than 12.

I'll no doubt change my mind when I make a proper team.

Yeah it's worth thinking about, as when i see people buying the likes of rondon, khazri, etc. i'm thinking will they really outscore a single gw player. if i limit myself to 11-13, i'd be better positioned in 34 and can wildcard 11 players i really want in 37, although haven't yet factored rotation in that week

As Evs says above, it's less about GW34 itself and more about 33, 35, 36 - got to consider the whole period and not just one set of matches. It's so tempting to just go in all guns blazing for the doubles though!

My plan was for 15 DGW players but now I think I'll keep all 3, Kane, Alli & Mahrez.

If one goes for me it'll be Mahrez as I don't have money tied up in him..

As someone who played their Bench Boost in GW 5 - getting 18 points (getting me € 30 in a Cash league Manager of the Month), and as someone who Widcarded in GW 20, read with interest the "Pre- match Preamble" .

It obviously makes very valid points about the clear maths of the situation - but Wildcarding early can save you 100 points over a 15 week period - 100points that aren't going to be clawed back in GW 34 surely.

So just to add a bit of balance, ive come out of the closet with my 18 Bench points (and my 30 euros, which I immediately lost on a horse!) and yes, I am a premature Wilcarder and proud!

Good luck to all in GW 34.........

Its a bit hard to quantify the value of your early WC. It may have been beneficial to you in the last 10GW's but it'd be very difficult to put a number on how beneficial. I guess you'd have to compare it to what you could have got with your original team with FT's over that time.

Also... Looking at how my team has performed over the second half of the season, using my wildcard would have almost certainly been detrimental to my score, not the other way round.

I've genuinely not needed surgery on my squad

Which gk combo are you going with for 34 and the rest of the season?

Hart is now out. Migs, Robles and Elliot are play for teams that can't keep cs.

Only one I think is worthwhile is Gomez...and possibly Adrain.

I thought about Adrian, not sure though

Robles helps as he's cheap, but will never get a clean sheet

      I suppose DDG maybe ?

DDG: forgot him. May already have Smalling unless there's a cheaper defender. I guess yesterday's cs will have been factored by some.

DDG/Gomez/Adrian looks the pick of the bunch.

I had Migs and Elliot as they rotate will in terms of fixtures/DGWs and they are cheap.

However your point about CS potential rings true so I think I'll likely end up with DDG and Elliot and just play DDG every week from here on in.

If Evertons missing fixture is announced in the next few weeks (which surely it will?) and does not involve a triple game week I think Sanchez TC gw 34 and BB 36 looks a lot better option.

Depends on rank - I would not be TC if I was in the Top 10k but he is the only player who can score 4 goals across two games who has a plumb DGW.

He seems to be picki up form though gradually and if he carries on looking decent for the next few fixtures he could be one of the best triple captaincy options around as we all know how explosive he can be.

Also I'm chasing so need an explosive differential rather than a consistent steady scorer for my TC.

Just from watching him. He. Igbo not be banging the goals in but he is defiantly banging on the door. Always very involved, happy to take shots etc. It's just a matter of time IMO until he explodes like he has in the past.

The last time I saw him like this I got him in straight away and within two games he got me a hattrick.

Form has slowly been on the improve lately. He's been matching Ozil's numbers in recent times. I think Welbeck starting over Giroud has helped. Sanchez has never done particularly well when Giroud is on the field.

    Özil - Firmino - Coutinho - Payet - Mahrez
    Aguero - Kane - Welbeck

On wild card with the current pick for the next two gameweeks:

    Migs - Elliot
    Bellerin - Gabriel - Rojo - Sakho - Dawson
    Firmino - Sanchez - Payet - Lanzini - Fabregas
    Kun - Kane - Rashford

0.2 ITB to change Cesc to Yaya if in form after the next two

Firmino to Cout if not fit

Anything worrying you other than Gabriel and Rashford? What do you think?

      11 gw 35 players
7 dgw 37 players (tc) (but with 4 ft to use before dgw 37 so potentially 11 dgw 37 players)

      Robles / elliot

Jagielka, Bellerin, Moreno, olsson (wba), Gabriel

Dawson stands out to me as a poor pick. Despite Pulis's reputation it just hasn't happened with clean sheets lately, their fixtures look terrible as well. Consider a West Ham or City defender maybe?

Otherwise I like your plan re Fabregas/Toure. I'm curious as to what you'll do If it doesn't pan out with Toure, will you keep Fabregas?

      1. IL LUCE

Agreed on WBA. I was looking at chances created and Dawson seems ok along with Clichy due to chances created. West ham might work also but CS are so hard to predict.

If Yaya is not in form, I will go with whoever is bellow 8.6 and scorring; hopefully a DGW player. If fabregas is really bringing in the points, I'll keep him and consider taking Kane out for a hot form Fwd.

Agreed, I thought the talk of the 'poor casuals' who were going to be destroyed in GW34 was a little overzealous. Mahrez, Vardy, Alli, Kane, Toby, etc. could easily out score whatever DGWers we bring in. It's a tightrope really...

For the most part, the DGWers I'm buying are either already in my team or are form players anyway.

      Here (Signings in CAPS):

      MIGNOLET - ELLIOTT
      Bellerin - CRESSWELL - DAWSON - JANMAAT - Fuchs
      Özil - Firmino - COUTINHO - PAYET - Mahrez
      Aguero - Kane - WELBECK

I suppose the exceptions are the cheaper defenders. The risks are selling Alli and Vardy, but those are strong options coming in.

First thoughts please guys, will definitely be WC in 33 so this one can be a bit punty.

    Elliott, Butland
    Simpson, Williams, Kompany, Walker, Bertrand
    Mahrez, Siggy, Eriksen, Ozil, Sterling
    Aguero, Vardy, Mitrovic

    A) Sterling to Payet
    B) Sterling to Willian
    C) Kompany to Azpi

Thinking A as none of my ML rivals have him so he still counts as a differential in that sense. Villa seem slightly better too, might just be a 0-2 win for Chelski.

The plan seems to be wildcard in 33 or 36 and play BB in 34 or 37 respectively. Is there an alternative we haven't considered? I'm thinking of wildcarding in 33 but playing TC in 34 (probably on Sanchez) and building towards a BB in 37. The benefits of this strategy are as follows:

    - You can keep strong Tottenham and Leicester assets for longer than you would if you were trying to get 15 DGWers for 34. You could even play 11 DGWers in 34 and keep Mahrez etc. on the bench if you wanted. This way you maximise your DGGW players while keeping players others will be selling.
    - It makes planning for 35 easier.
    - 33 isn't neglected as much. This seems to me to be the most overlooked aspect of wildcarding to BB in 34.
    - TC options seem to be better in 34 than 37.
    - You don't have to dismantle your team once you've played BB as there's only one GW after 37.
    - If you can't transfer your way to a decent DGW team in 34 (the usual justification for a 36 WC) it allows you to achieve the same thing.

If you roll over the transfer for 34 you get 4 transfers to build towards 15 DGWers in 37. Not the easiest task but definitely possible for the level of planning you guys display.

Not initially I don't think. You could get away with one or two (say Defoe and Ivanovic) and then gradually draft in more dependent on form. The key would be transferring out Arsenal and City players at the right time so if you're okay having no more than 4 or 5 from those teams it should be doable.

    2. Pompel
      • 11 Years

Thinking along the same lines. Much depends on when Everton - Crystal Palace is rescheduled. If for GW37, I'll use TC then and BB34, if for GW36 I'll TC Lukaku then and BB37, but if rescheduled for GW35, I might be tempted to TC Payet in GW37 and therefore BB in GW34.

Yeah but by the same token, if Everton and Palace is in GW35 a BB34 is suddenly a whole lot easier as we can have more Everton players due to them having a GW35 fixture.

I've looked at this and it's nigh on impossible to do without quite a few hits. Setting your team to even get 10 DGWers for 34 AND keeping the form players (Kane, Mahrez, Alli, etc) with only four transfers between 34 and 37 it's very hard to get 11 DGWers let alone 15. I'd love if someone had found a way to make this work, as it's a good plan in theory, but my cursory look at it failed miserably!

Not necessarily a triple up on Liverpool but 5 combined from Liverpool and Everton, which I confess isn't much more tempting! As above, even that depends on Everton playing in 35 but that seems the most likely option at the moment.

Worth to go Rojo instead of Smalling if it means I get to keep Kane for the next 2 and analyse if I want to switch him for the DGW?

Or Rojo is just too much of a risk?

With no Kane I'll be playing Antonio (CPL ARS) which is a nice 2 week punt.

Stay away from him. He's an accident waiting to happen

How about Darmian? Or am I just pushing my luck too far here?

I'm going to risk it with Rojo. The premium on Smallings reliability is too much.

Yeah, such a great enabler. Heck, even if he plays just one clean sheet I won't mind

I think I'll be going Rojo. He's a favourite of LvG - tends to play when fit (although I remember saying that once before and he got benched!)

if he starts in GW32 I'll bring him in in 33 and hope for the best 🙂

Owned Mahrez since GW1, sold him in GW24 thinking I would not get him back.. What was I thinking? Got him back for GW26, but for a 0.8 loss. Not been a big problem, until now.. I could really used the 0.8 on my WC!

I can sell him at 7.2 and current price at 7.4, should I consider getting rid on my WC?
