You’re looking at the new Fantasy Football Scout.

After around 18-months of design, re-design, wireframing, coding and testing we are very proud to reveal the fresh new look.

I’d like to extend a huge thanks to Will for his initial design and Dougal and Ed for building the new site, plus PureOlivia for his new version of the Season Ticker.

In addition, I’d like to thank for the following (in no particular order) for their help testing the site over the last few weeks:

Jonty, TorresMagic, Spencer, D1sable, Andy, Evs, Beavis, Doolittle, Kavali, Bowstring the Trout, Green Windmill, Balders, Sarjaent, Ryan, Kings of Lyon, Rakkhi.

You won’t be surprised to know that the new site is now fully compatible with mobile and tablet – it’s a fully responsive design that will adapt to your screen resolution accordingly.

If you’re accessing on mobile or tablet in portrait mode you will see a different version to desktop, allowing you to read articles and join discussions far more easily and effectively.

The mobile and tablet versions have viewing options which are available via a series of buttons under the top featured story on the homepage.

buttons

Use these buttons to view Recent Comments, the Twitter feed and the regular sidebar elements – including a new version of the Season Ticker. We’ve tried to ensure that mobile and tablet users have the same tools available as those on desktop – have a play and get acquainted.

If you view the site on table in landscape mode, you will shift to the small desktop version – if this is not the case, try updating your device.

Myself, Jonty and the moderation team are going to be about today to answer as many of your queries and issues. I’ve added a short FAQ below to hopefully address any immediate questions.

Why have we made this change?

We had to move FFS to be more friendly on mobile devices. Just over a year ago Google started penalising sites in search results should they fail to be mobile compatible. While we chose not to rush out a quick fix to address this, we knew we had to accelerate work on a new site to overcome this issue. Hopefully we’ve now made the site far more accessible for those using mobile and tablet devices, in addition to improving the site for desktop users – we hope.

How can I report a bug or issue?

We’ve done some pretty extensive testing of the new site but, inevitably, there will be bugs we’ve missed across some devices and browsers. If you think you’ve found an issue, please report this in the comments or, ideally, via email.

Mail us at support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk .

Please include as much detail as possible, including your device, your browser and your browser version. A screenshot would also be useful if you’re sending us your issue via email.

Can I give feedback on the new site?

Of course. Please use the support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk address to mail us with any feedback or ideas or the comment threads to offer your views.

We’re aware that such a big change can be jarring and that we will all need time to get used to the new site.

Please be patient with us while we iron out any creases and fix any issues that remain.

Why hasn’t the members area changed?

We’ve decided to apply the new look to just the main site for now. Over the summer we will consider applying the design to the members area to also make this more friendly on mobile and tablet.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Another thing is I find the "Recommended articles" placement is a bit awkward. I can see how it can be a problem with slower internet/mobile phone user where misclicks on it while scrolling.

It doesnt affect me as much but a minor suggestion. I think putting it on the bottom is much more user friendly.

Congratulations on the refreshed website. It looks like a big change, so congratulations to everyone involved!

I only access this site on desktop, but it looks like you've made a lot of improvements for mobile. I'd be curious to know a bit more of the rationale there. Eg. it would be interesting to know what % of your visitors are now on mobile, are you seeing more new posts from people on mobile vs. desktop, do you expect the refresh to speed up page load times on mobile etc.

Many of us are a bunch of data nerds here, so it would be cool to get a bit more detailed insights and stats on why you are making the changes, maybe through another update after you've worked through any issues over the next few days.

I plan on WCing in GW33, otherwise I'd only have 1 DGW player in 33 and only 6 in 34. My current draft is:

    Adrian (Schmeichel)
    Bellerin, Dier, Rojo, Fuchs, Gabriel
    Ozil, Firmino, Payet, Mahrez, Lennon
    Aguero, Kane, Lukaku

Thoughts on this team? I am worried about the lack of Sanchez and also, is it a waste of my WC & BB to only have 10 players with a DGW in 34?

So my ML rival who is 10 behind has Alexis, do I bring him in as well or not? Suspect he will (c) him so if I at least have him will limit damage of a potential explosion. Main problem is squad has been hit with injuries, got to change Butland!

Got 2 FT but back up keeper is McCarthy, but short of money if I do that. Was looking at Toby to Reid and Yaya to Alexis. Not a fan of all out covering but Alexis has the potential to go mad like donkey kong and that scares me! Currently considering getting Alexis and just going without a keeper, seems madness but if Alexis gets 15 points a 30 point (c) haul could kill me!

I have Butland injured and am with out Ozil, Sanchez and Payet.
I have considered wild carding but the plan was to see how players like Martial, Ashford, Aguero would perform this weekend.
I can see a fairly big red arrow coming if I just do Butland to Ospina for example. Wild card now or stay as planned?

Maybe take a hit? I think that's what they used to be called anyway. The extra week's observation could be worth way more than 4 pts.

If that's what the penalty is.

Kane hindering my team with my low TV, but also plays in 35 which helps.

if you're winning, it's a risk to drop them - leave it to your rival to take the risky punts to try and close the gap/go ahead.

Given their form atm each could score as many as any DGWer you bring in, I would probably keep them. I'm looking to do the same and I'm chasing a 46 point gap to my ML leader.
The downside of getting rid and then trying to get them back is too much imo.

IMO it is unlikely for him to be rested. I believe they will go "all guns blazing" as the PL is all that is left for them. Gibbs will continue to be used as a super-sub. Well, that's just me...
