Kevin de Bruyne and Samir Nasri return to full training ahead of Man City’s trip to Bournemouth. Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho will be assessed after a long-haul flight back from Paraguay, whilst Arsenal stopper Petr Cech is optimistic of returning this weekend.

Midfield boost for Pellegrini

Kevin De Bruyne and Samir Nasri returned to full training on Wednesday, boosted their chances of being passed fit for the trip to Bournemouth this weekend. In addition, Fabian Delph could be available for the Sky Blues’ Champions League encounter with Paris Saint-Germain next Wednesday. Meanwhile, Martin Demichelis has been charged by the FA for placing bets on football matches.

The Scout Says: De Bruyne’s imminent comeback could act as the catalyst for a Man City offense that posted blanks in three of their last four match-ups. Assuming the Belgium international is available for the Vitality Stadium clash, Fantasy managers who are adopting a Gameweek 33 wildcard strategy might be tempted to snap him up prior to the Sky Blues’ double Gameweek 34 (che & new). Taking his time of absence (two months) and City’s Champions League matches into account, though, it remains to be seen whether his minutes will be managed by Manuel Pellegrini. As for Demichelis’ situation, Dan Gosling breached the same rule (E8) in 2014 and was forced to pay a £30,000 fine, which suggests that the Argentine centre-back will escape a ban.

Coutinho to be assessed

Due to his long-haul flight back from South America, Philippe Coutinho is set to be assessed on Thursday to determine his fitness ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s visit two days later.

The Scout Says: Although Coutinho had to negotiate a 13-hour journey following Brazil’s 2-2 draw against Paraguay, the fact he clocked just 23 minutes across Selecao’s two fixtures works to his advantage with regards to potential fatigue. Roberto Firmino – who’s also a doubt for the Spurs clash with a minor hamstring knock – remains the choice route into Liverpool’s attack because of his recent form (three goals and assists in four starts), yet Coutinho (three goals in five across all competitions) is also courting attention as the Reds prepare for nine fixtures in the final nine Gameweeks. Despite the fact that Daniel Sturridge scored in his last two league starts, the former Chelsea man’s pockmarked injury record renders him a rotation risk during a seven-day stretch in which Liverpool embark on a trio of fixtures.

Cech hopeful on Hornets return

Petr Cech is confident that he’s on track to shake off a calf injury in time for Arsenal’s home tie against Watford this weekend:

“I should be fine after the national team break. It’s nothing serious. I’m still motivated and excited for each training [session].”

The Scout Says: Following a three-match spell that yielded seven goals for their opposition, Arsenal produced a resolute performance at Goodison Park last time out, surrendering just five shots inside the box and zero big chances. Consecutive shut-outs could well be on the cards, too, considering that the Hornets drew seven blanks in their previous 10 outings. Looking forward to the Gunners’ double Gameweek 34 (CRY & WBA), their stellar home record (10 goals conceded) and the lacklustre nature of West Bromwich Albion’s and Crystal Palace’s attacks (both rank in bottom six for goals since Gameweek 20) promotes investment in their rearguard. On that note, Cech (5.9) represents the cheapest secure option in light of the fact that Nacho Monreal (5.8) and Gabriel Paulista (4.3) are slight rotation risks.

Shaw nears training return

Luke Shaw is aiming to re-join Manchester United’s training sessions within the next seven days.

The Scout Says: The severity of Shaw’s injury (broken leg) should ensure that the Southampton academy product is afforded several weeks to rehabilitate. As such, reports indicate that Louis van Gaal has challenged Shaw to get fit for a potential FA Cup final on 21 May, implying that he’s unlikely to start another league match this term. Ultimately, his absence reduces the competition for places at the left-back berth, which has been occupied by Marcos Rojo for the Red Devils’ last four outings. Van Gaal will certainly be reluctant to displace the Argentine defender, given that Man United recorded six clean sheets in his nine league starts. Although he remains a slight rotation risk, Rojo’s pricing (5.0) makes him an intriguing prospect for an excellent double Gameweek (AVL, CRY) for those prepared to gamble, given that Chris Smalling comes in at 6.5 and has a single assist to his name this term.

Mixed news for Potters

Shay Given has recuperated from a knee complaint and is desperate to be selected for Stoke City’s upcoming home clash against Swansea City:

“I haven’t spoken to the manager yet about Saturday. It is an opportunity for me to get on the plane (to France) like the rest of the boys. I feel I could play at the weekend – it has given me a lift and I had a buzz in training today.”

Elsewhere on the Potters’ injury front, Ryan Shawcross (back) is struggling to recover before the weekend, though Erik Pieters (calf) is expected to be in contention. Jon Walters, meanwhile, is reportedly set to undergo minor knee surgery in order to be fit for Euro 2016.

The Scout Says: Given’s (4.3) budget price point would pique our interest if it wasn’t for the unforgiving nature of Stoke’s schedule (SWA, liv, TOT, mci) and their lack of a double Gameweek in the closing stages. Moreover, Shawcross’ continued absence gives us little faith in a defence that recorded just one clean sheet in the last seven matches he sat out – incidentally, that solitary shut-out arrived when Newcastle, who chart bottom for away goals (seven), made the trip to the Britannia Stadium.

What De Bruynes impact on Silva? My thinking is that with KDB on the wings Silva will be a lot more influential in that number 10 role.

I like it. While I dont use it n mobile I might start on my commute now its compatable. The desktop site is great too few cracking additions including:

        Expandable ticker
Fixed bar at the top to quickly link to team news, members area ect
Wider comment space allowing for conversations to look a lot smoother

What are your thoughts? I give it 2 weeks and we'll be wondering what the old site loked like 🙂

          I'm not sure yet tbh.

Looks good so far but still not sure on the ergonomics (is that the right word?) of it as I used to like the old "home" button" to return to the dashboard. I'm sure this is better but I'm just not fully up to speed on it yet.

It seems a bit slow to load is the main downside I've noticed but maybe that will improve in time.

It is very green and white though, when I saw it first I thought of you straight away 🙂

              Haha that's the spirit.

Re Silva I think with Pellegrini going anything can happen there. Personally I think he will be looking at the CL as his last chance of putting something meaningful on his CV before he leaves so I'd be afraid of any of their players in the league.

DreamTeamFC Advice?! Need rid of Butland, Sterling & one other... Who to bring in? Robles & KDB??

    Current team:
    Butland
    Ivan | Dier | Alderweild | Clyne
    Silva | Sterling | Firmino
    Kane | Lukaku | Kane

Thinking also Smalling in for Dier

I wouldn't trust Everton defence, especially in a game with no save points.

You need some Arsenal defensive coverage imo, I'm about to triple up in this transfer with Kolarov -> Koscielny alongside Monreal + Bellerin. I'd either do Butland -> Cech or Dier -> Monreal/Bellerin..

      Sterling -> Barkley or Ozil.

I don't agree as Arsenal have only 8 games left and Everton have 10 (11 if they make FA Cup final)

Dreamteam FC Fixtures (Possible in Brackets)
        Liverpool 11 (15)
        Man City 10 (13)
        Man Utd 10 (12)
        Everton 10 (11)
        West Ham 9 (11)
        Arsenal 8
        Chelsea 8
        Spurs 7

On these stats i'm thinking bringing in Robles, Smalling & KDB with Kane/Ivan out for my free transfer down the line... Could look at Adrian in also possibly instead of Robles

Double Gameweek Definites, Probables and Maybes

Like many of you with wildcards intact and a bench boost or triple captaincy to use over GWKs 33 and 34 I’ve drafted, ripped up, drafted and ripped up countless wildcard teams to best take advantage.

One thing I noticed is that the same core of players kept appearing in each, another group of probables emerged and there was a group of maybes that occasionally popped in. I thought I’d share my definites, probables and maybes to kickstart a discussion on who your chief targets are. Feel free to list your definites, probables and maybes below with reasons for your selections.

    Definites (8)

This group are always there in every one of my drafts.

Aguero – quite simply the only Man City attacker I can rely on. Two away games in gwk 34 but he still offers points potential. I’m not keen on captaining him though due to away form.

Lukaku – the double double guy over GWK 33 and 34. Good away form too that makes him a strong GWK 33 captaincy candidate (or even triple captaincy for those who aren’t wildcarding in the same week).

Payet – He misses GWK 35, but who cares. The heartbeat of West Ham and an FPL goldmine.

Ozil- In my team and there he shall stay. If Arsenal are going to score he will be involved. He looked sharp for Germany too. A captaincy candidate for GWK 34.

Firmino – if fit, looks to be the most nailed on attacking player and also a strong history of explosive points hauls

Mignolet – I’ve chopped and changed around in defence, but his kind price tag and double double looks irresistible. Nailed on too which could be rare for Liverpool over GWKs 33-35.

Robles – Same as Mignolet. Great price, a double double and so far looks to have cemented a starting berth.

Bellerin – Just as I say he’s not worth his price tag on the Scoutcast he proves me wrong. All those attacking underlying stats are now there for all to see in FPL points. Nailed on too.

    Probables

Kane – Looking at GWk 33 to 38, his form and high ownership among those who have wasted their second wildcard means he could be well placed to punish those of us who planned ahead. I see him as a dullard insurance policy against the poor planners. But a dullard insurance policy with a huge potential for points. There really aren’t any other DGWK attackers that appeal to me as well.

Mahrez – Leicester look set to continue to grind out results and I think any points lost by keeping him for GWK 34 over a dgwker will be off set by strong returns in other weeks, in particular GWK 35.

Lennon – Great value but there’s a strong chance of rotation. He looks a better source of points to Barkley per million.

Ward – I have Ward, I’ll probably keep him for GWK 33 with a possible view to moving on in GWK 34.

Gabriel – I think the best use of £££ in terms of Arsenal could be a double up in defence. Gabriel if nailed on could be great. Its currently a big if though.

Clyne/Sakho – doubling up on Liverpool defence also looks shrewd, especially given they play in GWK 35.

    Maybes

Milner – the ultimate dullard differential. With penalties and a points history prior to GWK 29 that reads 11, 2, 5, 8, 13 he offers strong points potential. Set to remain a differential too due to being laughably dull. If I get him it will be at the expense of Lennon.

Sanchez – He has one last chance to prove his worth to me in GWK 32. So far his meagre returns and poor underlying stats compared to other midfielders in the game are not worth his very hefty price. Drafting him in means ditching Kane as well for me. Affording both is not workable.

Smalling – ManU’s defence looks key for GWK 34, but horrendously over priced. Smalling looks the most nailed on but his price tag is appalling. Blind is a mid, the club want shot of Rojo and the rest are far from nailed on. DDG is an option, but once again that extra cost over Mignolet is off putting.

Lingard – reasonable returns expected for a budget price. Not ideal but his price tag could really help elsewhere. Another candidate for the Milner/Lennon midfield slot.

Clichy - looks nailed on and mops up BPS. But can they keep clean sheets?

Agree with all of your definites except for Firmino, he's a good pount but he's not as safe as you make him out to be imo.

A case can definitely be made for both, but in Firmino's case, he exploded with those huge points hauls when Sturridge was out and he was filling in up front.. with Coutinho, Lalanna, Sturridge, the two belgians, and some other fringe players knocking about now, I really don't see him playing every single league game, and most definitely not every league game up front.. I can see him being pushed out wide / on the bench on occasion, just my guess.

Can't believe Ward made it into your probables list.. irregardless of fixtures they're only second to Villa in terms of being out of form.

Ward is mainly as he's already in my team and for GWK 33. And can be moved on. Agree though he's not ideal that's why he's probable...borderline maybe.

Well I'm punting on Double Norwich + Janmaat so I can't really talk..

Still think the Firmino-hype is overdone on here though, Liverpool's attack is a minefield at the moment with all of their fixtures, but it's because of all their fixtures that we want them.. tis a trap! 😀

I'm a 36 WCarder so my definites are those already in my team:
Ozil, Alexis, Aguero, Firmino, Bellerin, Mignolet
I am putting the TC on one of the first three but 95% on Alexis. I love that Arsenal have no other competition to play for, 2 home games and against poor teams. That is FPL gold and i don't see any other stand out TC options out there other than Aguero(worried about rotation around CL) and Ozil(Lower upside). I'm expecting 60 from Alexis TC (2 goals and an assist) since i fancy Arsenal to thrash one of Wbrom or Palace if not both. They play better when not under pressure.

      My other definites are:
      Lukaku, Smalling(See 10 + points), United attacker.

I'm keeping Mahrez and losing Kane only for 33 and 34.

Its good to have only 11 to pick for 34 since i don't compromise on my Lei and Tott players and i have the quality players in anyway.

I know Firmino has become relatively consistent for Liverpool over the past however many weeks it's been, but is he really likely to score that much more than Coutinho?? I've convinced myself to take Coutinho over him to leave myself the ability to take Sanchez if I want to.

Payet, Mahrez, Lukaku and Aguero are all guaranteed to be in my team one of Ozil or Sanchez too and one of Coutinho and Firmino so it becomes a task of fitting players around them.

Not sure I'm keen on a double up of Liverpool defence and I'd want a United defender but only options are Smalling or DDG

You've summed it up pretty nicely there Jonty. Sanchez will be watched closely this GW.
But surely Barkley should be among the maybes - he can provide a double digit haul when you least expect it

With Payet, Ozil, Firmino, Mahrez plus that attacking front three the fifth midfield slot requires a lower price tag. Also Barkley has been a poor FPL asset in recent weeks. If he can show stronger form this weekend then I'd consider him but currently Lennon for 1.5m or so less is offering more points potential.

Yep most drafts tend to end up with Lingard...really helps considering that you have to pay to get nailedoniness (not actual word) in defence.

I am getting Lanzini, but I am getting Martial over Kane as I can't afford to keep Kane anyway

The biggest nusiance is my 5th defender spot. Currently I am just going to keep Simpson as i don't fancy 2 Pool defenders

Cech and Robles is the ideal keeper pairing IMO

      I seem to have settled on this;

      Robles Newc
      Bellerin Sakho Rojo Dann Simpson
      Sanchez Ozil Lingard Barkley Mahrez
      Aguero Lukaku Wickham

Have chopped and changed, and decided to keep double Leic but sell all Spurs. I considered going with no Aguero, or selling Sanchez, but as I've had both for a while it made no sense selling them on a DGW so Kane has had to go.

I will cash in the Palace players GW35 for Sunderland's Defoe and Pva, whihc leaves me circa 2.5m ITB so can actually get Kane back for Luka for a hit if I deemed it necessary.

But this gives me 4 DGW33 palyers, 12 DGW34 players, and 10 out GW35 with no hit. It's the best I can do on a 1.4 budget.

I thought I had at least 6 absolute definites. But looking back over all my various drafts ( each one was the ONE at its time) the only players in every single draft were Lukaku and Belerin. The latter because I've owned him so long.

Keep the definites, probables and maybes coming. Be great to especially get some good cheap options. Lanzini is a great one btw that's already been mentioned.

We should have a competition amongst those planning to go all in with 15 doublers, to see if anyone manages to pick a team that ends up with all 15 playing 180 mins.

      I bet few will

Good hot topic. Like you, I'm having sleepless nights over the dgws.

      Definites:

      Lukaku - 2 x dgws, in form. A must.

Payet - essential not matter how cheap Antonio is.

Firmino - if fit, then he's a no brainer.

Cech and Robles: Cech is the cheapest way into the ARS defence guaranteed starts. Robles is an easy one with his 3 dgws.

Mahrez: has to stay. Simple as.

Kane: has to stay. Simple as.

Sakho: played last 12 of 13 games. At least one LIV needed.

Ozil: 6ppg at home and great fixtures. No brainer.

      Probables:

Rojo: with the UTD mids and fwds off limits, the defence needs to be looked at and if he can stay first, Rojo is the cheapest way in.

      Reid: need a WHM defender.

Aguero: not been in great form and likely to be rested in the league. Leaving him out makes a big difference to your team esp important with the BB chip.

Bellerin - worth doubling up on ARS defence.

Barclay - 3 dgws and some semblance of returns but not prolific.

      Maybes:

Welbeck - rotation threat but if he comes in for Kun and starts for ARS, he ahs the fixtures and some form to take advantage of the dgw.

Bolasie - a real enigma here. Plays for a team with no form but if anyone will score for CPL, Bolasie is your man.

Janmaat - will Rafa improve the NEW defence? Early signs are promising. Janmaat is cheap and comes with an attacking threat.

A CPL defender - 2 great fixtures in 33 but no form and unreliable. May get Ward or Delaney to cover the possibility of 2 cs. No game in 35 a real drawback.

KGB - away form puts me off him.

Yaya - injury and CTY off form.

Milner - cheap and recent form. Now on pens a bonus. Just as likely to let you down though.

Coutinho - do I need two LIV mids? Sits second behind Firmino.

      Great hot topic jonty.

Definite: aguero, Luk, ozil, Sanchez, payet, firminio if fit for 34 onwards Bolasie for 33 punt, mahrez given how much value I have in him from 5.6 to today, bellerin, sakho, migs

Maybe: Kane, martial, mitrovic, wick ham, Defoe for that final striker spot, smalling, rojo, dann, Delaney, Robles , Darrow, Ddg

Dgwer definites for me are similar to you, for really similar reasons:
      Lukaku, Aguero, Ozil, Payet, Bellerin.
I'd also say Mignolet is looking particularly nailed to cover the Liverpool fixtures, alongside, sadly, Big Chris Smalling sucking up a whole 6.5m of my hard earned cash as the only certain starter in the United defence.
I am also keeping Kane and Mahrez for the usual reasons (can't buy back, form, limiting exposure to nonwcers)

      I guess this gives me:
      Mignolet / x
      Bellerin Smalling x x x
      Ozil Payet Mahrez x x
      Lukaku Kun Kane

30m left for the final 6 spots

One of the midfield x's needs to eventually (probably at GW34) become a Liverpool midfielder, alongside one of the x's in defence being probably Sakho.

Lingard is also likely to be an enabler in the middle.

      Great topic!

        My Plan

Wildcard this week, team as follows:
        Robles, Darlow
        Bellerin, Clyne, Evans, Delaney, Dann
        Ozil, Sanchez, Payet, Barclay, Zaha
        Aguero, Lukaku, Martial

GW 33, save transfer and have 3 Everton and 3 Palace players with Lukaku triple captain.
GW 34 take out Delaney and Dann for Jamaat and Sahko - gives me 15 Double GW players - captain Sanchez.
GW35 take out Zaha and Martial for Willian and Defoe for a 4 point hit - gives me 11 players. Bench Robles, Payet, Barclay and Lukaku.
        GW36 save transfer
GW37 take out Bellerin, Ozil and Aguero for Ivanovic, Firmino and Costa for a 4 point hit - gives me 11 Double Gw with Payet as captain.
GW38 take out Defoe for Martial
This is the best plan that I can come up with, giving me 6 DGW players with Triple captain in GW33, 15 DGW players in GW34and 11 DGW players in GW 37 plus having a starting 11 in GW35 for only a minus 8 point deduction.

Please let me know your thoughts?

Thanks mate. Still not sure about rotation etc but having saved the wildcard and triple captain/bench boost chips until now thought it would be foolish not to at least have a go. Ive got a feeling that it could either work brilliantly well or end in tears with the likes of Kane/ Mahrez etc out scoring the DGW players. Only time will tell, its gonna be interesting with rankings potentially changing massively over the coming weeks.

That's why I'm keeping Sanchez, I'll bench him in GW37 and play him in GW38. The other option is to bring Ozil back for GW38, I'll have the funds to do this.

These are the same definites as mine,

        I'm currently sitting on:

        Mignolet / Robles
        Bellerin, Smalling, Dann, Jaanmat, Sakho
        Ozil, Mahrez, Payet, Milner, Linguard
        Aguero, Kane, Lukaku

Not sure If I've got enough CPL and EVE for GWK33

Think things will end up being rather template hehe - I've done some more tinkering and gone for the value GK set:

          Darlow Robles
          Bellerin Clyne Gabriel PvA Smalling
          Bolasie Mahrez Ozil Lingard Payet
          Lukaku Kun Kane

This means I can do Bolasie --> Coutinho for GW34.

I agree with a lot of that.

      Definites:
      Hennessey
      Bellerin
      Ozil, Firmino, Payet, Mahrez
      Lukaku, Aguero, Ighalo

      Probably:
      De Gea
      Sakho, Ake
      Barkley

      Possibly:
      Mignolet. Robles
Coleman, Collins (if fit), Rojo, Smalling, Janmaat, Mangala
      Milner

Think I've got 9 that will definitely make my team. Hennessey might seem odd but with two double weeks and a cheap price he's a decent shout, especially as keepers get save points. For that reason, he appears a better option than Dann or any other Palace defender. Ighalo, although out of form has two double weeks remaining as well as home matches against Villa and Sunderland so at the price he seems a worthwhile punt. I think the majority of players will have the other 7 definites I have named.

Most of the debate lies around my backline. I've pretty much made up my mind on midfield and forwards but it's not leaving me a lot of flexibility for defence and I've got a tighter budget. I definitely want at least one each in my backline from Man Utd and Liverpool. The problem with Man Utd is rotation of full backs, and as Jonty alluded to the cost of Smalling. Thus De Gea appears the most sensible option to me. With Liverpool, the full backs are a rotation risk, Skrtel is still finding match fitness and there's a possibility of rotation with Lovren, Sakho and Skrtel. Mignolet looks the best option but I'm probably swaying more in the direction of De Gea.

In previous seasons I've had Mertesacker in my team and suffered in double weeks where he's been rotated out. My concern with Gabriel is that Mertesacker might come back in for one game. I still don't think Wenger has decided 100% who he prefers next to Koscielny.

For midfield, I'd prefer Barkley but Milner is a consideration given that he has two double weeks, no blanks, is slightly less expensive and also takes set pieces. Milner stats aren't actually that bad either. I think both are likely to be rotated out at some point with Everton and Liverpool having so many games in a short period of time.

      Definites:

Darlow ( dgw in 34, gw in 35, Newc have everything to fight for, 3.9 and 0 big changes conceded) in 2games

Janmaat, Sakho, Gabriel, Rojo, Bellerin ( already mentioned above, double up on Arsenal seems like the most reliable source of points for me. Koscielny more likely to be rotated than Gabriel imo due to injury proneness. Janmaat attaching, dgw 34 and gw 35 and good defensive stats of newc in last 2 games. Sakho, Livpool defender a must and most nailed on)

      Aguero ( aguero)
Lukaku ( already mentioned multiple times)
      Payet( great form)

      Not sure about:

      Barkley or Lennon
Bolasie ( cpl are terrible but 2 dgw's are tempting)
Ozil or Sanchez ( reliable vs explosive)
2 of Firmino, Miler or Coutinho ( depending on fitness)
De gea ( united have great defensive potential, but very expensive)

Pretty similar to yours Jonty. Think i'm going to WC this week and these are the players who havent changed (definities)

Smalling (just think those two fixtures are too good not to take advantage of)
      Robles (so cheap)
      Firmino (best liverpool asset imo)
Payet (way too good to ignore)
Ozil (not losing him with his consistency)
Aguero (still the best player in the league)
Lukaku (expect him to be the top scoring fpl player from now until the end of the season)

      Probables:

      Mahrez
      Kane/Sanchez (still undecided)
      Monreal/Bellerin (whichever I can afford)
      Sakho/Clyne (whichever I can afford)
      Ward/Dann

      Maybes:

      Lennon
      Lingard
      Bolasie
      Janmaat

      Definites:

Mignolet - easiest route into Liverpool defence who do occassionally put a run of clean sheets together.

Fuchs - bp's and the way that Leicester are playing means for now he stays.

Payet - quality potential and first name on my GWK 35 bench.

      Kane - form.

Lukaku - highest priority to get in.

      Bellerin - attacking potential, nailed.

Ozil - hoping he can come back to form.

      So I'm left with: 1xGK, 3xDEF, 3xMID, 1xSTR

      Gk:

      Maybe: DDG, Hen, Adrian
      Probably: Robles

      Def:

Maybe: Clyne, Clichy, Janmaat, Dawson, Smalling, Flanagan
      Probably: Lascelles, Evans, Rojo,

      Mid:

Maybe: Sanchez, Iwobi, Lennon, Antonio, Lanzini, Lingard, Wijnaldum, Alli, Milner, Lallana, Gardner, Silva

      Probable: Firmino, Mahrez, Wijnaldum

      Fwd:

Maybe: Rashford, Martial, Mitrovic, Welbeck, Rondon
      Probable: Aguero

How I feel as someone with reduced functionality on a non-maximised window on a desktop, which has rendered the site unusable during the day…..

You book a fortnight holiday in a resort which does a mixture of full-board and evening meal only for their guests. The dining room has many nice food options and has a lovely view of the sea, which was a plus when booking the holiday. You decide to go for the full-board option.

For the first week and a half of the holiday you have an amazing time – everything is perfect.

Then, a week and a half into the holiday you go down for lunch and the dining room is closed. You are sent to a new dining room with a view of the mountains – you don’t really care for a mountain view though – plus, while generally finished, there is still a bit of maintenance going on with people still painting the walls, doing the carpet etc. Not only this, but instead of having an extensive choice of food, there is just a plate of sorry-looking sandwiches. You are assured the evening meals will be the same as they were in the old dining room.

As you are, of course, not overly happy with this, so you go and speak to a member of staff who is standing by. He tells you that your issues may or may not be addressed (either quickly or at a time after your holiday is over) and recommends to put a suggestion in the suggestion box. There are a lot of other evening-meal-only’ers about looking around the new dining room (where they will be dining this evening) – they’re not bothered about the sandwich situation (as they are not all-inclusive). They overhear your conversation and jump in to tell you to stop being a miserable git and positively embrace the change.

Would you be unhappy in this situation?

Also the point you've missed is that the tourist board have been pressuring the hotel to upgrade their dining room for a long time, threatening to direct guests to other hotels if you don't comply.

So the hotel reluctantly spends a lot of time and money it perhaps didn't want to on upgrades it may not have felt were entirely needed.

Yep a better analogy is that you've been invited to a free music festival. All your friends favourite bands are there and having a great time, but something doesn't feel right with you. Perhaps the beer is off or the sound not right.

Although you are also one of the lucky festival goers who has also invested in a VIP area ticket, there it is much more like the festivals of old and feels more comfortable for you.

You have made a fair assumption, but I hardly use the members area - I pay for membership because I feel it is a fair to contribute to a site I use a lot and enjoy.

I'm just unhappy that I now have to broadcast that I'm skiving off work to go stay at this hotel.. I was looking for a break to get away, but now I have this big green nametag around my head saying "I'm currently browsing in FantasyFootballHotels.co.uk"..

It used to be the case where I could leave the nametag in my room if I was quick enough to scroll down, but now the bloody nametag follows me around the place..

I'm not being funny but this is an awful analogy. It isn't easily comparable to a holiday. Fair enough if you have qualms with the new site and stuff but that IMO is actually a terrible way of comparing.

First of all this is something everyone will get used to eventually, the fact that because you can't maximise your screen means that the change only affects you and not everyone else so it's not like everyone 'has sandwiches'. Also a holiday costs on estimate £500 each whereas this site is only what £15 for those that choose to become members or free for those who don't opt for that. Also that £15 lasts you a whole season and the holiday offers you two weeks. And even more so, you don't book a holiday for the food you get at an all inclusive resort you book it for the sun, sea, activities etc the extra money for all inclusive doesn't mean I expect 5* quality food I expect a variety of buffet things and if one day there are sandwiches nothing is stopping me from going out for lunch instead.

I can still win my mini league but I've decided to go out having fun.
I have no Wildcard so I'm going to make 2 transfers a week (taking a hit each time) and meet 11 double players by GW34 (and Triple Cap Sanchez) and meet 15 double players by GW37 (and bench boost).

Now on the actual team. I am annoyingly 0.1 short of Fuchs, and need a defender for GW35

    a) Moreno (already getting Sakho) and rule out a 2nd Liverpool attacker later down the line when there might be less rotation
    b) Simspon/Huth, only a SGW but a good fixture in 35
    c) Olsson - DGW but horrid fxtures
    d) get Reid and get a fodder mid like Fletcher over Lanzini
