Toby Alderweireld recovers from a stomach bug in time for Tottenham’s trip to Anfield. Arsenal’s Petr Cech remains a doubt, James Tomkins returns for West Ham, whilst Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino is still struggling with a hamstring problem.

Toby Alderweireld has fully recovered from the illness that forced him to miss out for Belgium in midweek. Mauricio Pochettino also revealed that Jan Vertonghen is “very, very close” to being available, whilst Erik Lamela –who picked up a knock during the break – will be assessed once he arrives back from a long-haul flight.

Yohan Cabaye, Mile Jedinak and Emmanuel Adebayor are all doubts for Palace’s trip to Upton Park. Connor Wickham looks set to miss out again but could be in contention for next week, according to Alan Pardew.

Aston Villa caretaker boss Erik Black has revealed that the club are currently conducting an internal investigation. Whilst this is underway, Gabby Agbonlahor won’t be available for selection.

Younes Kaboul, Wahbi Khazri and Lamine Kone are all fit for Sunderland’s home clash with West Brom. Billy Jones is doubtful due to a minor knock, whilst DeAndre Yedlin will be assessed after arriving back late from international duties.

Reports in the local press suggest that Roberto Firmino remains a big doubt due to a hamstring problem, with the Brazilian again failing to train yesterday. Christian Benteke also missed out, though Divock Origi and Philippe Coutinho both took part in the session, with the latter showing no ill-effects from a long-haul flight back fro South America.

Andre Ayew misses out once again as Swansea make their way to the Britannia. Jefferson Montero and Modou Barrow will be assessed after long-hauls flights back from international duties but are expected to be available.

Eddie Howe is optimistic on Josh King and Harry Arter’s fitness after both pulled out of international duties over the last fortnight.

Petr Cech remains uncertain to return in time for Arsenal’s home clash with Watford, though the keeper is back in training today. Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini remain sidelined, though both have a chance of returning next weekend, according to Arsene Wenger.

James Tomkins is available for West Ham’s home encounter with Palace. James Collins and Sam Byram are both “progressing well”, according to Slaven Bilic, but remain sidelined for the weekend.

John Stones has shrugged off a knock in time for Everton’s trip to Old Trafford on Sunday. Roberto Martinez has also revealed that Bryan Oviedo is available after recovering from a chest infection, whilst Kevin Mirallas is also back in the fold after serving a two-match ban.

I already have Ivanovic but I'd recommend him to those who haven't got him in.

Aside from that I think Norwich may offer a surprise in Robbie Brady. Newcastle's defence is improved but in either hospital or the treatment room.

I am quite surprised by the captain poll results this GW.
Kane seems to be the most logical pick for me. He just played 20 min on tuesday, hot form against a bad pool defense. He's almost guaranteed 90 min whereas Aguero has to deal with long flight, jet lag and with Bony fit, pretty sure kun will be eased in prevision of PSG game on Tuesday.

People say this about Agüero every week and he still plays 70-90 depending if the game is won or not.

For The Sun game (Where cup/european games count) would you still take an Arsenal defender over a Liverpool or Everton one until end of season even though Liverpool/Everton have 3 or 4 games more each?

It's easy in the game to get minus points if you ship more than one goal so despite the extra games, looking at the fixtures I'm thinking an Arsenal defender is still the better option. Fixtures look so much better and made for clean sheets for Arsenal + no massively attacking defenders from either Liverpool or Everton, Liverpool will likely concede more than once in both games vs Dortmund and Everton ship goals for fun..

    Make sense to go Arsenal?

In the Sun game Blind and Smalling are gold. I've doubled up on them and I'd advise the same if you haven't already.

Liverpool have a tough European games.

I'd go for Bellerin instead of a Liv defender personally.

I have Smalling only at the moment and have had all season.. Maybe Blind is the way to go then..

I'm already doubled up on Arsenal with Monreal and Bellerin but was thinking about tripling up as a few Arsenal clean sheets would score huge + Koscielny completely nailed on.

If I bring in Payet I'd have to play Hennessey against him so it seems a little counter-productive.

If I keep Ritchie I would bench him and play Siggy and I'd like to think I have a probably CS in the bag with Courtois.

Palace away to West Ham and Everton away to United if you're loading up on those two.

Not sure who to play from this lot, cuz it seems i wont be WC'ing this GW.

    Toby / Huth / Williams / VvD / Ivan

Nailed are Ivan and Huth it seems. Basically a toss up between the other three for one spot.

Also, Starting Gylfi over Ali atm.

Thats my thinking for the defense. For Spurs just think playing 3 is too much vs LIV. Also, dont think STO can keep a cleenie vs SWA. I can see Gylfi sneaking one in. BUT, Alli does dmg due to ownership. Guess i have to play safe? 🙁

I just think Alli is THE Spurs option to have away from home at the moment, even more than Kane..
          But I may be wrong.

Liverpool have a knack of conceding v midfielders recently too however..

Maybe bench Toby and play Alli? Really not that much between VvD / Williams / Toby

Maybe benching Toby is the right move. Everytime i do, he delivers attacking returns.

Well, Gylfi scores away from home as well pretty good and they play a butlandless and ShawXless STO. That is the only reasoning.

    Arnie vs Coutinho dilemma!

Current midfield is Payet, Arnie, Eriksen, Mahrez. 3 up front are the usual suspects. I have no LFC cover, but suspect their high pressing style will end in a lot of free kicks and struggle against the counter of Spurs.

Top of my league by one point and the two below have the same except Alli instead of Eriksen. Their midfield is largely different from mine. 3 up front are exactly the same.

1 free transfer 1.9m in bank.

    Thoughts appreciated!

Adrian a better option than Courtois for 32 only, given the two Palace strikers out as well?

That's great for the lad. I am a Cov fan and he was outstanding for us. He has the potential to be a top Pl player and has age on his side.

brutally good in FIFA and FM, absolutely tremendous. No one could stop him in FIFA and also playing FM with Bournemouth. After 31 gw willson is top goalscorer (22 goals) ahead of aguero (19 goals) in the first season.

1FT left, £1.4m ITB - where to punt? (Wildcarding next week) Can't see many options:

    Adrian
    Ivan Williams Simpson
    Mahrez Ozil Alli Payet
    Kane Kun Vardy

    McCarthy Siggy Toby Smith

Considering Siggy -> Fab/Willian/Lanzini but would mean benching Alli.

    Thoughts anyone?

I think the 1.5mil price difference makes Lennon the sensible choice

Lennon looks more likely to get points but has a greater rotation threat than Barkley. Take your pick.

Last WC question for now 🙂
    1. Monreal + Ozil
    2. Sakho + Sanchez

Have Bellerin as Arsenal def cover already so doubling on Arsenal def with 1.
Mignolet/Robles in goal atm so would be doubling on Liv defence with 2.

    Thanks a lot.

One more The Sun game question (So again includes European/FA games)..

My 2 mids I'm keeping are Ozil and Payet, who would you bring in for the 3rd place? Obvious preference for somebody with a lot of upcoming games so out of players like..

Coutinho, Firmino, Barkley, Mata, City mid possibly with them still having Champions League?
