Have we fallen hook, line and sinker? After taking a beating by a cast of talent sacrificed in our Gameweek 33 Wildcards, it certainly feels we’ve obliviously wandered over a trapdoor and slammed back down to earth.

We’re back up to full strength in the ScoutCast as Jonty, Andy and Luke join me to compare the bruises inflicted by our Gameweek 33 refresh. We endevour to remain optimistic, clinging to the hope that the Gameweek 34 bench boost chip will deliver and help us balm the damage from a disastrous weekend.

Judging by the line of questioning from the community, we’re not the only ones smarting. The four of us pick through your bout of queries, before looking ahead the weekend and the Gameweek that could yet revive our seasons.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first aired live on our YouTube channel on Wednesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get a heads up on future broadcasts.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Hey guys, thinking of getting some Pool cover for the DGW.

    Since Coutinho played for full 90 against BVB, would Firmino be the better option?

      Milner.

      Firmino has a higher risk of rotation with Lallana, Origi, Sturridge

          For sure. I've avoided Liverpool mids in general because I can see a lot of rotation happening. Especially against Bournemouth.

          I reckon Klopp with give the youngsters another go, i.e. Ojo and Stewart

            True, quite tempted to get Origi actually, but I don't want to disrupt my front 3 of Kun, Kane and Lukaku. Haha, massive first world problem, have an excellent DGW Jape!

    TCers
    Aguero only has 5 goals away from home/18
    Sanchez only has 3/9 at home

    In reverse fixtures:
    Aguero: 6 goals
    Sanchez: 0 goals

    This change anyone's thinking?

    What to do here?

    Robles Darlow
    Darmian* Gabriel Bellerin Simpson Sakho
    Firmino Barkley* Payet Sanchez Bolasie
    Kun Lukaki Martial

    1.3m ITB & 1 FT

    A) Darmian ➡ Smalling
    B) Lukaki ➡ Studge
    C) Barkley ➡ Cou
    D) Robles & Barkley ➡ DDG & Milner
    E) Darmian & Barkley ➡ Smalling & Milner

    Alli / Iwobi / Ozil / Payet

    Best move here?

    A) Lennon -> Lanzini/Antonio
    B) Dann & Lennon -> Smalling & Lanzini (-4)
    C) Dann & Lennon -> Fosu-Mensah & Milner (-4)

    Would need another hit in 35 with A) and B) to get 11 out.

    Robles, Darlow
    Bellerin, Dann, Sakho, Gabriel, Simpson
    Sanchez, Cout, KDB, Bolasie, Lennon
    Aguero, Lukaku, Martial

    Bank 0.2m, 1FT
    Bench boost active

        Thing is, I can't see any clean sheets for CPL this week, whereas I expect at least 1, possibly 2 for MUN. So Smalling could repay the hit this week alone. And then he has another DGW later too. Don't think that's worth a hit?

        1. Najoman86
          • 16 Years

          Definitely worth the consideration. Having also drafted in Dann for DGW33, I've found it difficult to shift him following on from Palace's results/x2 CS last week.
          Smalling would probably be the only DEF I would consider shifting him for, to be honest. I'm short of funds, so it'll be a hold call for mine.

          Worth a shot!

      What do we think about Sakho's minutes...? Next Europa league game on 28th, so in theory he could play both games on DGW... but in practice probably not on Sunday vs Bournemouth ? If you believe that he will play both games, then A. If not, B might be worth it.

        It's a minefield. Keepers look the safest option. That being said, I don't think either teams will change their entire team - I think 4-5 changes and reduced minutes for others. City in particular will still want to finish in the top 4.

    I suspect Klopp will rest a few players against Bourenmouth and play a first choice team in the Merseyside derby (fans would not expect anything less) and then rest a few for the Newcastle game.

    Sturridge even seems a better chance of playing league games if fit ?

    Messes up the idea of any Liverpool players nailed on for the 3 fixtures except the keeper

    Right, it is done.

    Gabriel & Lennon > Fosu & Iwobi ... I feel much better about my team, and the hit will be worth it if they both play 60+ in each game! Now we just need LVG to promise 2 CSs and Wenger to give Mert some gametime!

    DDG
    Fosu Gabriel Toby
    Sanchez (tc) Iwobi Firmino Payet KDB
    Kun Martial

    Bench. Forster Luk Fuchs VVD

    Am I crazy to sit luk over iwobi? If so, who gets the bench?

        I have. Only TC left. Is Sanchez the best option? Luk on the bench does not feel right for some reason. Thanks for the kind words

          Im selling Lukaku this week for Martial. He is an absolute troll in FPL. I wouldn't be worried about him on bench with Evertons form they are awful at the moment

      Benching Lukaku is the worst idea ever.

    Eyeing up this transfer for a hit. Bit risky but could pay off dividends.

    Delaney > Fosu-Mensah (-4)

    Thoughts?

      Realistically you can't see Palace defenders gettign more than 4 points across the 2 games, unless they score which is unlikely.

      Realistically you can see United keeping at least 1 CS and quite possibly 2 across the 2 games.

      4 points vs 12 ... it's a no-brainer for me.

      Sturridge game time a concern. At least you know Lukaku will play minimum 150 mins

    Who would you play this week?

    A) Mahrez (WHU)
    B) Alli (stk)

    West Ham challenging for top 4. Leicester only scoring 1 or 2
    Stoke goalkeeper is dreadful.

    Robles+Barkley--> DDG+Milner(-4)

    Good move?

    DDG Darlow

      Get rid of Bolasie over Barkley, otherwise I quite like the transfers.
