Following months of strategising, Norwich City and Sunderland beckon in a bumper Gameweek 34 at Carrow Road. The Canaries will look to rebound from their defeat at Crystal Palace, while the Black Cats endeavour to register their first victory in seven outings.

Norwich’s attack was underwhelming across their last four starts, ranking in the bottom five for attempts (38), shots inside the box (22), big chances (three) and shots on target (11). Intriguingly, though, only five teams have fashioned more big chances (28) in home fixtures than Alex Neil’s troops, despite the fact they place joint-second-bottom for shots inside the box (100). At the defensive end, the Canaries proved hard to beat over the same period, conceding just three goals and the joint-second-fewest big chances (three).

Although Sunderland ranked fifth for attempts (62) and fourth for shots inside the box (38) over their last quartet of match-ups, they suffered from the third-worst shot-conversion rate (3.2%). That being said, only five sides boast a superior shot-conversion rate (11.6%) on the road, which paints a more positive picture of their attacking prospects in Norfolk. On the flip side, Norwich will be encouraged by the fact that Sunderland chart joint-top for goals conceded in away ties (39).

Shame we haven't seen more of Martial and Rooney up front with rooney holding up the play and Martial making runs

Exactly. Clearly that's Rooneys strength but LVG is to stubborn to see this,.

There was no need to rest Martial or Fosu Mensah. Why not keep the confidence flowing after the West Ham win? LVG baffles me.

By all means rest them v Palace before the FA Cup game...

The Palace game was there to rest him. Makes no sense if he rests now then plays majority of the Palace game with an FA Cup semi round the corner

I can see why martial was rested. He has been playing every game since the transfer, and aston villa is the perfect time for him to rest.

I don't understand Fosu bench though, I suppose LVG want to give valencia some match fitness

I got both as well 🙁

Wish there were more DGWs in a season.

Gambling on a 20 point hit when you've no idea over the lineups is much more fun than deciding whether to captain Aguero/Mahrez.

As a side note.. For a new chip next year, a "co-captain" chip would be class. Letting you have 2 captains in a gameweek.

Would've been awesome to captain Aguero and Sanchez this week.

Main rival wildcards and has eleven doublers, captained Martial. Other rival only has four doublers and triple captained Martial. I've got nine doublers and played bench boost too. Captained Aguero. I should be provisionally quite happy just now yeah?

Martial don't play but should be back for the tougher fixture of Palace who are starting to find some form. Memphis has been poor this season and could easily be taken off at half time for Martial there is no way he will play the full 90mins.
