Alexis Sanchez grabs both goals as Arsenal sweep aside West Brom in the final fixture of Gameweek 34. Aaron Ramsey supplies both assists upon his return to the starting XI, whilst Gabriel drops to the bench as the Gunners earn a fifteenth shut-out of the season.

Sanchez at the double

Arsenal leapfrogged Manchester City into third spot by virtue of a 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.

Alexis Sanchez grabbed his second and third goals of the Gameweek, meaning he’s now produced attacking returns (six goals, three assists) in each of his previous seven starts. The Chilean subsequently ended Gameweek 34 on 25 points, just one less than Sergio Aguero, in what proved a titanic armband tussle between the duo. Considering that Mesut Ozil served up his sixth blank in seven outings, Sanchez has established himself as the clear favoured route into Arsenal’s attack ahead of showdowns with three of the current bottom four.

Drafted in for Francis Coquelin, Aaron Ramsey supplied the assists for both goals. Although the Welshman’s price tag (7.8) could furnish us with an alternate source of Gunners coverage, his lack of security of starts keeps him on the periphery of our thinking.

At the expense of Gabriel, Per Mertesacker made his first start in five fixtures and earned a single bonus point, whilst Olivier Giroud usurped Danny Welbeck as the Gunners’ lone striker. In both cases, one would imagine that the displaced player will regain their starting berths at Sunderland next time out, yet the uncertainty will likely prompt owners to explore their options given that Gameweek 35 is already without three fixtures.

Arsenal enjoyed their third clean sheet in five match-ups, positioning them joint-second for shut-outs (15) this term. With home matches against Norwich City and Aston Villa also still to follow, the North Londoners still boast strong clean-sheet potential in their final quartet of fixtures.

Baggies season stutters to a standstill

West Brom slumped to their fourth defeat in five outings as they managed a solitary shot on target at the Emirates.

Bearing in mind that Tony Pulis’ side have scored just once in the last five matches, investors in Spurs’ defence will be buoyed ahead of their duel at White Hart Lane on Monday. Indeed, having managed just a single clean sheet over that period, and with showdowns against West Ham United and Liverpool also to follow, those still holding the Baggies’ assets will surely be looking for a way out now.

Morning all. What a turnaround that was, looked like a disaster on Monday night, but ended up on 164 and up to 8k!

Anything need a hit here? Obviously big concerns around the 3 Liverpool players, Mitrovic and Gabriel, but thinking maybe I just hope for the best? FT going on Martial to Kane.

    Mignolet
    Bellerin/Gabriel/Sakho/Simpson
    Sanchez/KDB/Milner
    Aguero/Kane/Mitrovic

    0.3 ITB.

Your 3 Liverpool probably have a good chance of starting actually, so yeah hold on them.

Not sure what I'd do with Gabriel. Probably just hold as well

Ahh you're the bald fella in my back mirror 😉

Nice score Doolittle. Taking a hit for a bench player could look very silly. If any of those don't play at least you'll be in good company.

Hard to justify a hit. Just keep your fingers crossed when the line-ups are out. Good luck!

    Currently on:

    Darlow (Robles)
    Bellerin-Gabriel-Lovren-Delaney (Rojo)
    Sanchez-Mahrez-Coutinho (Payet-Lingard)
    Aguero-Kaku-Martial

    0.2itb, 2ft

    Planning to do:
    Kaku->Kane
    Martial->Defoe

Also need another move to have 11 starters (probably won’t happen anyways…)
    Delaney to

    B) Morgan/Fuchs/Simpson
    C) Rose
    Other ideas?

Oh, of course I did. There will be some new signings in the summer too (a few older players are probably leaving). I just think he makes our team much better and I'm glad he stepped up when Coq and Cazorla were out. I even hope he keeps his place. He deserved it.

Ramsey's all over the shop when playing from centre mid. Elneny's always there in the right spot as an outlet and that's so important even when you don't use him just for the moments when you do need him.

Ramsey played amazing yesterday. My hat's off to him. Cazorla will have to fight for his place in this team. It won't be easy, there's a lot of competitors.

          • 12 Years
          9 years, 9 months ago

Like Arteta and Cazorla before him, you realise he's the type of player you'll miss only when he's not there. A very important cog.

What do yoou guys think I should do with this team?

    GK: Lloris, Forster
Def: Bellerin, Fosu-Mensah, Fuchs, VVD, Wolly
Mid: Alli, Lingard, Sanchez, Payet, Firmino
    Att: Rondon (bleuuurrrgh), Martial, Aguero

    0.7ITB and 1FT

I was thinking ditching Payet and Martial for Townsend and Kane for a -4 hit. Payet hasn't been doing too much recently and I think getting Kane will trump his production. Townsend has some good fixtures coming up soon too, so he could be worth a shout

Im thinking about doing the same moves. Im going to use my FT for Martial to Kane (3.5 ITB). then it gets tricky...

      A) Coutinho -> Alli (-4)
      B) Delaney -> PVA (-4)
      C) both A and B (-8)

or maybe Martial, Coutinho, Delaney --> Kane, Alli, Fuchs (-8) I think Leicester will get some clean sheets in the next four games... (SWA, man, EVE, che) Fuchs up for more points than PVA?

Im also thinking about getting a straight swap between Coutinho to Firmino (-4)

      My team is:
      Darlow (Robles)
      Bellerin Simpson Sakho (Smalling Delaney)
      Sanchez KDB Coutinho Iwobi (Lanzini)
      Aguero Sturridge Kane

      Its hard...

It makes sense to be honest, some find the opportunity cost of owning both too much. The question then is of reversing the move in gw38. Liverpool may have the Europa League Final just 3 days after the league season ends so we may have to bail on Liverpool assets.

    De Gea Kasper
    Bellerin Kosc Smalling Sahko Lovren
    Sanchez KDB Nasri Coutinho Lanzini
    Kun Martial Mitrovic

If everyone with a game plays I have 11 players (I have 0.4M ITB)
    I'm guessing 1 of Sahko/Lovrn won't play
Coutinho may not play, Nasri may not be fit

You have some risks in your team, Sakho/Lovren (rotation), KDB (minutes), Coutinho (rotation), Nasri (fitness), Mitro (minutes)

      Possibilities could be
      Lovren > Walker/Rose
      Lanzini > Alli

    Basically:

    Advice much appreciated...

    Darlow

    Gabriel Simpson Bellerin Sakho

    KDB Sanchez Firmino Fletcher

    Kane Aguero (C)

    Subs: Payet Carroll Smalling Robles

Am I GTG lads or should I consider taking a -4 (thinking of KDB > Ali)?
This is my team with no hits. My FT was Martial > Kane.

Which set of moves looks the best this week?

    A) Mitrovic + Lanzini > Defoe + Alli
    B) Mitrovic + KDB > Sturridge + Alli

    Cheers

Was 86pts behind ML leader last week... Now I'm 45...
I have WC & BB to play, He don't... He can field 11 at -8... Im fielding 11 at -4...
I have no bench palyers and some look like rotation risks, as do his...
Should I go Martial to Pelle -8, bench Wolly?

Who would you pick between Sturridge and Defoe if money wasn't a issue ?

Tough one Sturridge will have less minutes but could score as many pts as Defoe over the remainder...

It’s me against 3 casuals in my ML with me leading and 20 points between us all….and I’ve got to win!!

I have this going into GW35.

    DDG / Migs
    Toby Sakho Bellerin Gabriel Simpson
    Payet Ozil Alli Bolasie Wijnaldum
    Kun Kane Martial

What would you do….especially for GW37?
