Liverpool’s Divock Origi is set to miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury. Jose Fonte and Victor Wanyama have been passed fit for Southampton’s trip to Villa, Xherdan Shaqiri is ruled out of Stoke’s visit to City, whilst Chris Smalling has overcome a knock in time for United’s FA Cup semi-final with Everton.

Reports in the local press suggest the Divock Origi is ruled out for the season with the ankle injury sustained against Everton in midweek. The Liverpool striker will undergo further scans today to ascertain the likely length of absence.

Eddie Howe has confirmed that Harry Arter and Adam Smith will remain sidelined for the visit of Chelsea. The Bournemouth boss also indicated he will continue to ease Callum Wilson back into action after the striker was afforded a couple of sub appearances following his return from injury.

Jose Fonte and Victor Wanyama are available for Southampton’s trip to Villa after recovering from the knocks that forced both off in last week’s draw at Everton. Ronald Koeman has also confirmed that Charlie Austin remains unavailable though is close to returning from a knee problem.

Chris Smalling has shrugged off a knock picked up against Palace on Wednesday night and is available for United’s FA Cup semi-final against Everton. Adnan Januzaj remains unavailable due to a lack of match fitness.

Xherdan Shaqiri is ruled out of Stoke’s trip to the Etihad with the hamstring injury that forced him off during Monday’s loss at Spurs. Mark Hughes has revealed that Shay Given is likely to keep his place in goal, though Marc Wilson, Glen Johnson and Jon Walters are still sidelined.

Ramiro Funes Mori serves the first of a three-match ban for Everton’s FA Cup semi-final encounter against Man United. Earlier this morning, Roberto Martinez also confirmed that Gareth Barry, Phil Jagielka and John Stones are set for late assessments, though Seamus Coleman has failed to recover from a hamstring complaint.

Kieran Gibbs is a doubt for Arsenal’s trip to Sunderland after missing last night’s win over West Brom with a minor back problem.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

The description usually explains, but all it mentions is that they have an important game 5 days later so Klopp may bring changes again. I thought 5 days was ample rest for Premier League players, I start worrying at 3 days (City v Real Madrid)

Need a nailed on player with a good week this week only......

    Lloris
    Francis Fuchs Gabriel Wolly
    Alli Mahrez Couthino Ozil
    Kane Aguero

Bench not playing....Darlow Bolasie Martial Coleman

I'm on -4, have BB/WC to play... Wolly could get 0pts, Couts Gabriel big rotation risks... So planning on another bringing me to -8...

    a) Martial - Pelle
    b) Coleman- Bellerin

“Very important we’re in UCL Semi Final but that doesn’t mean we’re not worried about BPL. The best way to prepare for Tuesday is to beat Stoke, to score goals, keep a clean sheet and that will help us prepare. Every game is different, we need three points to keep our options to finish third. Injury risk is always there. See the big teams, they are involved in both domestic and european titles. If you want to be a big team you must want to be in every competition. The semi is big but we must also finish high.”

These comments from Pellegrini pretty much suggest that KdB and Aguero will start tomorrow.

I might bring in either Mane/Pelle/Long as a one-week punt, if I was wildcarding next week. if not, i wouldn't go there.

after AVL, they have Man City and Spurs. there seem better ways to go both at striker and in midfield.

Pellegrini was quizzed by the assembled press about his team selection process with two key games in such a short space of time, and the associated risk of injury and fatigue.

"It was exactly the same against PSG," he responded. "We had important Premier League games then and I said the best way to prepare is to win your games, as that gives you trust in the players.

"The best way to prepare for Tuesday is to beat Stoke, to score goals, keep a clean sheet, and that will help to prepare."

"The risk of an injury is always there. For big teams you can’t choose one competition. See the big teams, they are involved domestic and European titles. If they are eliminated, that can happen."

And specifically on Aguero Pellegrini added: "Sergio is very important for us but I am sure that Real Madrid will play their best squad on Saturday. I am sure Atletico will and Bayern will."
