Which Watford defenders have the best attacking potential, if any?

Rotation seems to be the problem there though. If they lose tomorrow it might be OK but it's hard to work out what their preferred line up is.

Does Klopp have a problem of some sort with Coutinho ?...He seems a bit slim on his gametime, is it possible that some other club has already made a semi positive move for him to join them ?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if he left in the summer. But, no, I don't think that's the reason he's managing his game time. Just wrapping his best midfielder in cotton wool to try and get a CL spot via the EL

He seems to be using an awful lot of cotton wool on a lot of players these days. He's making life impossible for FF picks.

Statistically been our most efficient presser with Firmino acc to Anfield Index. He wins the ball up high a lot, and stamina isn't his strength. No real surprise he isn't featuring every week.

Agree 100%. And I've liked our recent performances, just need a little more improvement. Smalling and Blind is an excellent partnership also! I've liked how LVG has adapted him to the CB role 🙂

Just need to keep De Gea. He is truly brilliant.

Bit of a differential GW36 Wildcard - Any thoughts much appreciated please ?

It is entirely dependent on Watford (Villa home next) losing in FAC SF to reduce rotation risk in GW37.

I have decided to avoid Pool or Man City due to rotation risks with cup competitions.

    Gomes, DDG
    Ballerin, PVA, Cresswell, Olsson, Smalling
    Payet, Sanchez, Ozil, Fab, Hazard
    Deeney, Ighalo, Costa

11 DGW players (although am likely to play one of the Arsenal trio away to Man City rather than an extra DGW defender). Arsenal are a must keep with Norwich (GW36) and Villa (GW38).

    1. Numb
      • 11 Years

You could start without Ozil (another DGW mid instead) and just bring in Ozil (or whoever) for the Villa game - the more attractive one

Thanks for the thoughts but bought Ozil at £8.4m so have been reluctant to let go. I still think he will come good. He blanked 5 GW's in January then punished sellers in Feb.

      I did...and you should.

Nobody doubts he's brilliant...it's just how long for. He should be scoring 30 a season but he can't keep fit. The fact is you are seventh in the table and that is partly down to the fact that your main striker doesn't play enough...nowhere near enough.

      1. Davido989
        • 15 Years
        9 years, 11 months ago

Our 'main' striker cost 32.5m. There's the problem. Replace Benteke and we wouldn't have to rely on Sturridge for 38 games

        1. Dr Dream
          • 13 Years
          9 years, 11 months ago

          Possibly yeah. Benteke was pants.

Both of Andy Carroll and Sturridge are in danger of doing just enough to convince their respective managers not to go out and buy somebody more reliable. They're both great strikers but both will absolutely let down their manager's through injuries...they just will.

If Liverpool aren't careful they'll end up with Benteke up front again soon....that's the danger.

          1. Davido989
            • 15 Years
            9 years, 11 months ago

Agreed. I think Klopp is smart enough. He hasn't been afraid of not playing Sturridge etc. As long as we sell and replace Benteke I'd be more than happy with XXX, Sturridge, Origi and Ings next season. Firmino to cover when needed. Wouldn't have to rely on Sturridge: just a bonus when fit.

i'd prefer someone like kane who plays all the time. sturridge is great but not much point being great when you don't play most of the time

Ya definitely see the point there. Not many strikers around who can play all season. Kane, Suarez, Higuain is all I can think of.

    How do these moves sounds:

    GW36 - Kun > Lukaku

    GW37 - Iwobi > Fab/Pedro

    ROBLES
    KIRCHOFF Simpson Delaney
    PAYET FABREGAS FIRMINO Mahrez
    STURRIDGE LUKAKU Kane

    Subs: Darlow, Sanchez Gabriel Sakho

Of course the important thing which happened today was a win for Oxford. It is so close between 2nd and 5th in that league for who gets the 2 automatic promotion places. I just know after been second for most of the season Oxford are going to blow it. If we can just win those last 2 league games ...
