We bring the curtain down on Wednesday with a visit to the Weekly Shop, as we analyse the player lists of our partner games to pinpoint the likely targets that will make up our own weekly squads.

As always, we divide the player analysis into two parts: I’ll assess the key targets that no squad can do without in “Better Buys”, before seeking out those one-shot “Poundstretcher” prospects that can provide us points, whilst freeing up funds.

For this week’s selection, we’re focusing on the FantasyBet and DraftKing player lists.

Better Buys

Manchester United travel to a Norwich side that have failed to net in three straight matches. David De Gea (FantasyBet 5.5m, Draftkings $4,200) has five clean sheets in eight outings and should do well at Carrow Road, though a trip to West Ham on Tuesday poses more of a problem – given that the Hammers have scored at least twice in their last seven, the Spaniard’s shot-stopping abilities will be called into action, meaning save points are likely to be on the cards.

Slaven Bilic’s side may be scoring for fun but a shut-out at the Hawthorns was their first in seven attempts. Visitors Swansea have blanked in back-to-back matches on the road and provide the Hammers a chance to record a twelfth clean sheet of the campaign, while United have scored only once in their last three away trips. Aaron Cresswell (FantasyBet 5.5m, Draftkings $4,100) is our pick from Slaven Bilic’s defence, with the raiding left-back producing a goal and assist over his last four appearances.

It’s been a remarkably underwhelming season for Eden Hazard (FantasyBet 10.5m, Draftkings $5,500), who has finally shown glimpses of last year’s form by netting three goals in his last two run-outs. The Belgian’s six goal attempts over those last two ties is more than the midfielder recorded over his previous 12 league appearances, suggesting a recent stint on the sidelines appears to have revitalised him ahead of trips to Sunderland and Liverpool.

We turn to West Ham once again, with their pair of home ties and prolific scoring record making Dimitri Payet (FantasyBet 7.5m, Draftkings $8,400) and Andy Carroll (FantasyBet 6m, Draftkings $5,200) prime candidates for our squads. Payet continues to be the main source of creativity for the Hammers, recording an eleventh assist of the term in the 3-0 win at West Brom, while Carroll also turned provider against the Baggies and has struck six goals in as many league outings.

Jurgen Klopp has preferred to utilise Daniel Sturridge (FantasyBet 10m) in the league while resting the striker in Europe. Thursday night should reveal more about the German manager’s plans but having started six of the last seven league matches, the Reds frontman could be worth investment, having netted five goals over that period.

Poundstretchers

Sunderland have been building a case for survival having lost only one match in eight, whilst three clean sheets in five highlights their late-season resilience. Victor Mannone (FantasyBet 4m, Draftkings $3,500) has made 19 saves over four matches and should be busy again with Chelsea and Everton both visiting the Stadium of Light over the next week.

Bournemouth may only have one match this Gameweek but a home tie against a West Brom side that have scored only twice in seven looks promising in the last home fixture of their debut top-flight season. Charlie Daniels (FantasyBet 4.5m, Draftkings $3,900) remains our choice route into Eddie Howe’s rearguard, whilst further up the field, Matt Ritchie (FantasyBet 5.5m, Draftkings $6,400) and Josh King (FantasyBet 4.5m, Draftkings Forward $4,400) look to be the Cherries attacking assets to select.

Andros Townsend (FantasyBet 5.5m, Draftkings $6,600) continued his fine recent form by netting Newcastle’s crucial winner against Crystal Palace last time out. It’s three goals and two assists in six matches now for the winger and a trip to Aston Villa affords Rafa Benitez’ side to strengthen their case for survival.

Another former Tottenham player is our pick of the budget forwards. A fourteenth goal of the season at Stoke re-affirms Jermain Defoe’s (FantasyBet 5m, Draftkings $5,300) credentials for the two upcoming home ties. The Black Cats frontman has scored the majority of his goals away from the Stadium of Light but, having had 13 attempts in the box over the last four (second only to Carroll) he will be Sunderland’s main threat for must-win matches with Chelsea and Everton.

These are the contenders for my weekly contest lineups. On Friday, I’ll also bring you up to date on my progress in FantasyBet, as I continue my quest for profit in the 2015/16 campaign.

I like it, yeah, because depending on "tonight's" result Milner can be rested for WAT, and Lukaku's benching just added to our woes. Do it, and fwiw I've bought those 2 too for a hit. gl

Benteke was my highest scoring captain over the first 7 weeks (9 pointer in gw2 or 3) until Kun came to rescue. Started with Rooney, Wally, Sterling and Haz too. Funnily enough, Haz and Mane will be my only two gw1 that will play gw38 too.

What's the consensus on the City reaction versus Arsenal? My fear is that both teams know a draw will be enough. Or even that Arsenal don't have the same motivation as City do to win the match, with Villa at home to come they know that is a banker.

It's more dangerous for citeh to play for a point though. Just imagine if they got caught at the end, lost, and either Man Utd or West Ham got 6pts, and that's likely. Citeh have to try and win, and I think they will, comfortably.

I'd say get another mid but you're in a hole with Firm/Cout, both will probably end up with 1 game each. Maybe Kun > Carroll and Loftus Cheek to Hazard? But even Loftus Cheek has a double. That's really tricky.

Yup completely snookered myself with the Pool guys on my WC back in GW 32.
Loftus Cheek played 3 games leading up to 35 and none since when I get him. Typical eh.

I was looking along the lines of Kun/Loftus-Cheek/Gabriel --> Defoe/Willian/Cresswell (-8) to free up a gunner and leave me money to upgrade Cout/Firm to Sanchez in GW 38 for (c).

I would defo sell Simpson for Smalling for a hit, talk on scoutcast tonight of Leicester making changes these last 2 games. The thing is if you've got 1.5 that only leaves you 5.5ish for a replacement for Simpson. May have to sell Rose

B for me. Don't like selling Kun, but since you have Studge, it makes it a bit easier to swallow..

    Mignolet
    PVA - Simpson - Smalling
Hazard (TC) - Payet - Lanz - Cout - Fabregas
    Defoe - Aguero

As a Chelsea fan, it's the first time I've owned Hazard all season. TC on that boy.

        There's 2/3 GW's left, pretty much guaranteed a 5-10k finish. Why not. 😉

B, definitely. Safer game time, does well on Baps and could potentially get you 6 points from clean sheets too.

Carroll TC would make me really nervous because he's always a bit of a red card risk.

I'll start the GW trailing Ml leader by minimum 35 pts after taking a -4. I have TC, he doesn't and we both own Payet. So putting the TC on him seems a waste, since I fully expect him to put the C on him, meaning I'll only get 1X more points. So...

    A) Play safe with TC on Payet and hope to beat him with other current differentials (Sanchez, Firmino, Defoe, Carroll, Hazard)

    B) TC on Carroll, which I'm 95% certain he won't bring in.

B for me right now, but appreciate your advice.

TC the player you think will score more points, period. Don't overthink about your rival, assume you're better and if you make the right choices for you, you'll win.

I'd prefer Carroll for upside but the question is if you do.

compare them in the members section. its very useful for those two player toss ups.

just to add to the dilemma, hazard gets good stats vs payet on the link below.

Payet if leading, Carroll if trailing.

Payet, Hazard of Carroll. They're the top 3 in the captain's poll currently in that order.

No such thing as trailing or leading for me XD,
I'm at 55,411 for Overall Rank, just wanna get better.
And give the TC Chip to the best player on my team.
      So who to bet for?

Everyone suggesting hazard this week but don't you guys think that sunderland are going full defence to try and stay up and chelsea playing for nothing...hiddink could even rest or give him less time...the second game is against a german pressing liverpool side. I'd say its huge gamble and not worth the big money spent.

money is pretty irrelevant for most people at this point of the season

DGWs are for gambling... he's shown a flash of form we used to love

Ostensibly he may be playing to show he's still "got it" for a summer move to a club in the Champion's League so there's that too

I agree with your Sunderland sentiment and Vito Mannone seems to be in form

I mentioned money just because it could be distributed better during the last couple of weeks not that it matters in terms of value or anything but I see you point I still see it as risky and away games for chelsea not the best of times ot choose him...Im more worried he'd be dropped for one or play minimal than anything else, if he plays Im sure he'd be willing to impress like he did agiasnt spurs.

Is Rooney a crazy idea for differential? I know playing deep but 7 shots last game though only 2 on target

well, he's an idea for a differential because he has yet to show form and is playing deep... and has two away matches

Ranking all Prem teams based on home form, ManU are 2nd best (just behind Leiceister)

Ranking all Prem teams based on away form, ManU are 11th

I assume there are no Norwich fans about?

No one to compare last seasons two 3-nil drubbing of Watford to this season's 2-nil loss.

No one who wants to relive there 1-2 victory at Old Trafford this season.

No one who believes they'll stay up but the one nut job poster who is going to triple up on Norwich players... and isn't even a Canaries fan...

I'm a Norwich fan, don't bother with our players. We're not going to keep CS with Klose out and we don't have a good enough striker to score goals reliably.
