As we furiously attempt to de-code the double Gameweek puzzle, it’s now time to consider yet another set of variables as we trouble Paddy Power for their weekend odds.

Before we analyse their reckoning for Anytime Goalscorers and Clean Sheets, a reminder that, if you’ve yet to grab yourself an account with our bookmaker partners, this weekend is another opportunity to cash in on a raft of enhanced odds offers.

It all starts with Saturday’s Premier League treble which dangles big odds of 25/1 on wins for West Ham (vs Swansea), Chelsea (at Sunderland) and Leicester (vs Everton). The Foxes are also covered by their own enhanced bet with Paddy offering 6/1 on a crowning victory for Claudio Ranieri’s boys against suffering Everton.

On Sunday and you can choose to back Southampton’s flourishing form against a deflated Spurs with odds of 14/1 on a Saints win at White Hart Lane.

Paddy have also got another treble covering Sunday’s matches, with 20/1 on wins for Spurs (vs Southampton), Liverpool (vs Watford) and Man City (vs Arsenal).

Finally, if you fancy a individual flutter on that Etihad clash, you can get either 7/1 on a Man City win or 10/1 on an away win for Arsenal.

Be sure to check the terms and conditions on all those offers and, of course, we should state that all these specials are only available to those aged 18. If you’re going to wager, always gamble responsibly.

While Fantasy managers contemplate Jurgen Klopp’s latest shuffled teamsheet, Paddy are very clear in their thinking when it comes to Liverpool’s goal-getting power against Watford at Anfield.

Both Christian Benteke and Daniel Sturridge (1.72) top their current odds reckoning for a Gameweek goal, while Roberto Firmino (2.10) is the highest rank midfielder on show, swiftly followed by team-mate Philippe Coutinho (2.40). In short, if these guys get minutes, Paddy is strongly backing them for goal returns.

Paddy have also been quick to recognise the form of Andy Carroll; the Hammers target man heads up a pack of strikers ranked at 1.90 as he rumbles into a home encounter with Swansea City. Should he get the opportunity, Carroll looks well positioned to terrorise the Swans rearguard once again: the Welshman always struggle to cope with Carroll’s aerial threat, have surrendered seven goals in their last two away clashes and will likely be without skipper Ashley Williams.

Dimitri Payet leads our Captain Poll and is also handed short odds of 2.40 by Paddy – only Firmino ranks higher amongst FPL midfielders.

Jamie Vardy and Sergio Aguero are both also pitched at the 1.90 mark. The former netted three goals in two starts before serving out his suspension and could be set to fill his boots in a celebratory King Power fixture against Everton.

Meanwhile, Aguero’s form (seven goals in five) underlines his continued potential as City head into Sunday’s clash with Arsenal at the Etihad. Manuel Pellegrini’s men could be leg weary following Wednesday’s flat performance in Madrid, although the City boss has stressed that his side now have to prioritise a top four place with United and West Ham still threatening.

Having drawn two blanks in his last four appearances, Harry Kane (2.00) charts in an unfamiliar rank this weekend ahead of a White Hart Lane meeting with in-form Southampton. Kane is looking to keep a grip on the Golden Boot but is part of a Spurs side who could be somewhat demoralised by Monday’s result at Chelsea. Mauricio Pochettino’s outfit could also be knocked out of their stride by the absence of Mousa Dembele who starts a mammoth 6-match suspension following his FA charge for violent conduct. Kane has scored just once in the nine matches that Dembele has missed this season.

Further down the ranks, Newcastle strike duo Papiss Cisse and Aleksandar Mitrovic (both 2.25) will look to profit from Aston Villa’s obliging defence. The Villains have conceded four goals in three of their last eight match-ups, providing the perfect platform for Rafa Bentiez’s side to continue their current form: the Mapgies have scored in each of their last seven matches.

CLEAN SHEET ODDS – GAMEWEEK 37

TeamOdds
West Ham2.10
Newcastle2.29
Manchester United2.29
Liverpool2.40
Bournemouth2.60
Crystal Palace2.70
Tottenham2.87
Leicester3.10

Given that Swansea have posted blanks in their previous pair of road ties, it’s no surprise to see that West Ham (2.10) have been pinpointed by Paddy as the team with the most favourable clean-sheet prospects in the Gameweek. Just behind them, Newcastle (2.29) have recorded two shut-outs in four and are pitted against a Villa unit that failed to score in five of their last eight fixtures.

Manchester United are also currently ranked at 2.29 to keep Norwich City out at Carrow Road. While Louis van Gaal’s side have kept just five of their 17 shut-outs away from home, they’re up against a desperate Canaries who are without a goal in their last three league fixtures.

Liverpool come next with odds of 2.40 as they seek to repel the advances of Watford. The Hornets have scored just twice in their previous quartet of road matches, which suggests that Liverpool’s odds have suffered from the threat of Klopp rotation.

Bournemouth (2.60) have conceded the joint-most goals (16) across their last six match-ups, illustrating their poor value for a home tie against West Bromwich Albion. Crystal Palace’s (2.70) home encounter with Stoke City looks more promising, considering that the Potters have notched a solitary goal in their previous trio of fixtures.

Further down the table, Paddy feel that Spurs (2.87) have their work cut out stifling a Southampton attack that has amassed more goals (12) than any team in their last four fixtures. While our bookmaker suggests that Ranieri will relax his approach to the home meeting with Everton – the Foxes are given relatively long odds of 3.10 for a shut-out in today’s late kick-off.

    Yes, Robles has two games, but do anyone really see more than 4 pts there for him, probably even less, since he will concede a couple in each of these games. Right?

    chasing a 10 point lead in ML...narrowed down to 3 options

    A: reid + hazard + defoe.....start sanchez and bench alli
    B: cresswell + fab + carroll..start sanchez and bench alli
    C: martin + fab + carroll....start coutinho and bench sanchez

    With options B and C...i would have to triple captain a west ham player (payet or carroll)..so is that too many eggs in basket? i.e. payet + TC carroll

    with option A...hazard is the main drawcard...in this case even if i TC payet..i will be diversifying my risk i.e. hazard + TC payet

    Leaning on A based on above...or am i just rationalising to bring in haz?
    Thoughts?

    Bellerin Smalling Dawson (Fuchs Targett)
    Ozil Milner Payet Townsend (Iwobi)
    Aguero Deeney Kane

    Kane -> Defoe/Carroll
    Ozil-> Hazard
    Milner-> Brady for -8?
